What do you do to alleviate it?.................
First impressions are never wrong, or so some people believe. I’m inclined to disagree, because we seldom get the opportunity to test our fist impressions and very often we confuse something else with first impressions.
It takes about one tenth of a second to form a first impression and it is formed when we lay eyes on a stranger for the first time. It is based on visual appearance only and is a simple like or a dislike. When you instantly dislike the person, it is because your brain associates his looks with something or somebody that you already dislike. The same applies to those that you take an immediate liking to.
More than often, the stranger will walk on and you may never see him again. Those first impressions based on a fleeting moment of sight will remain untested forever unless if you happen to meet again.
When you have the chance to observe a stranger for a while, your first impressions are vastly expanded and overridden with a new set of data. You will be able to process some of his properties like age, race, culture, language, gender, personality, facial expressions, body language, accent, posture, and voice (amongst others) to form a much more accurate image of the person.
But this is no longer first impressions. You had ample time to sum him up while observing his mannerism and interaction with other people. It is a calculated assessment of the person. The accuracy of such an assessment depends on the time you had to observe him and your ability to judge people, but it can be clouded by your instant like or dislike of the person, as formed when you first saw him.
Keep your mind open. Don’t allow first impressions, formed in a tenth of a second, to obscure the virtues and the flaws of a stranger. He may be completely different from what you first perceived.
Have a marvelous day.
Can you give me a minute of your time? Of course not, you cannot save, give away, receive or spend time; it is just a figure of speech. And yet, there is an abundance of it in the universe, which is defined qualitatively and quantitatively by time, space and matter.
Of all the things in the universe, time is the single item that science finds hardest to explain and all we can do is to do as much as we can as it relentlessly walks on; or we can sit idle, simply watch it goes by. It waits for no one.
Time compares well with the three stages of water.
The past is frozen solid; it starts now and stretches back to the beginning; whenever that was. There is nothing we can do to change it. Yes, we can correct the effects of the mistakes we made yesterday but we cannot undo them. What is done is done. An apology does not undo your previous action; it only admits to making a mistake. We cannot save a position and restore to it when things work out wrong.
The future is hidden; an impenetrable steam vapor that nobody can see through. Some people claim that they can but that is a topic on its own. It starts now and stretches forward into eternity.
The present, also known as ‘now’, is a fleeting moment in time between the future and the past when the steam vapor of the future condenses into water before it instantly freezes into the solid ice masses of the past. It is strange that the only component of time that we have direct control over, last for just a moment. Yet it determines the past which shapes the future.
To those who believe that time is the best teacher or that time is on their side, I have bad news. Time will kill all his patrons and will eventually destroy everything. Time is just something that prevents everything from happening at once; something to stretch the process of his destruction.
May you all have a good time!

one of America’s preferred methods of confronting its adversaries is to ‘wage war by proxy’ against them, that is, to support the war of a group or country against a rival without militarily engaging themselves.
The history of the Cold War is littered with such examples, such as America’s backing of the Mujahideen against the Soviets in Afghanistan, its assistance to Saddam Hussein against Iran in the Iran-Iraq War, or, on a more contemporary note, its failed attempt to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad via local rebels.
Proxy wars allow the US to minimize its own losses by having someone else die for its aims while also procuring geopolitical gain by undermining rival states, at the same time maximizing profits for the military-industrial complex by keeping the arms flowing.
Fact not Fiction.

A.) He lies. A LOT. Politifact rates 70% of the words he speaks as “Mostly False or worse” Only 14% of the things he says get a “Mostly True” or better rating. That is an absolutely unbelievable number. How he doesn’t speak more truth by mistake is beyond me. To put it in context, Obama’s rating was 26% mostly false or worse, and I had a problem with that. Many of Trump’s former business associates report that he has always been a compulsive liar, but now he’s the President of the United States, and that’s a problem. And this man expects you to believe him when he points at other people and says “They’re lying.”
B.) He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.
C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-like life. 1 Corinthians 5:11
D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.
E.) His ideas on “keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms—he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.
F.) He couldn’t pass a 3rd-grade civics exam. He doesn't know what he’s doing. He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise And that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.
G.) He behaves unethically and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.
H.) He is damaging our relationships with our best international friends while kissing up to nations that do not have our best interests in mind. To his question “Wouldn't it be great to have better relations with Russia?” The answer is Yes. But it is RUSSIA who needs to earn that, who must stop doing the things that are damaging to that relationship, or we are simply weaker for it.
I.) He has never seen a shortcut he didn't like, and you can’t take shortcuts in government. “Nuclear Option, Remove the Filibuster, I’ll change the Constitution by Executive Order…” Don…what happens when you remove the filibuster and the other side retakes the majority in the Senate? Suddenly want that filibuster back? What happens if you manage to change the Constitution by Executive Order and an anti-2A president wins the next election?
J.) He behaves and has always behaved as an unabashed racist. Yes, I’ve seen your favourite meme that claims he was never accused of racism before the Democrats…Absolutely false. Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019 See the Central Park 5, the lawsuits and fines resulting from his refusal to lease to black tenants, the 1992 lost appeal trying to overturn penalties for removing black dealers from tables, his remarks to the house Native American affairs subcommittee in 1993. The man sees and treats racial groups of people as monoliths.
K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.
L.) He speaks and acts like a demagogue. He sees the Legislative and Judicial branches of government as inconveniences, blows up at criticism no matter how deserved and actively tries to countermand constitutional processes, not to mention attempts to blackmail and coerce people who are saying negative things about him.

Ukrainian soldier admits some of the marines trying to defend a key river against Russian attack 'can't even swim'
December 4th 2023, 2:48:10 pm
A Ukrainian soldier told the BBC that soldiers sent to help defend recent Ukrainian advances on the Dnipro river were so inexperienced they couldnt even swim.
"Several brigades were supposed to be posted here, not individual companies — we just don't have enough men," said the soldier.
"There are a lot of young guys among us. We need people, but trained people, not the green ones we have there now. There are guys who had spent just three weeks in training and only managed to shoot a few times," he said.
"Everyone who wanted to volunteer for war came a long time ago — it's too hard now to tempt people with money. Now we're getting those who didn't manage to escape the draft. You'll laugh at this, but some of our marines can't even swim," the soldier added.
As the war with Russia approaches its second year, Ukraine is experiencing serious manpower problems and concerns that international support for its resistance to the invasion may be beginning to fade.
In the wake of the invasion, thousands of Ukrainians enlisted in the military. But amid steep casualty figures, these figures are believed to have dropped. Ukraine does not publish recruitment and enlistment figures.
Surely the puppet Zelensky has made enough money by now? He should have free and fair elections instead of jumping to the tune of his puppet masters.
Sometimes I forget that I’m an Idiot and from time to time I need the services of another Idiot to remind me that I’m an Idiot.
One such Idiot did put his hand up for the job but he was too big an Idiot thus overqualified for the job and methinks he rates his own idiotic advice way too high. Actually, I think he’s just over-inflated and believes that he’s the only Idiot in town. And then the same bloody Idiot sent his application to the wrong place by dropping it off on another blog. He should have brought it straight to me.
Anybody wishing to apply for this position may drop his/her résumé or business card (with the word ‘Idiot’ clearly written on it) at any of my existing or future blogs for swift processing. I cannot guarantee my regular appearance at any of the other blogs and dropping it off there may disqualify the applicant. I don’t pay peanuts and therefore monkeys should stay out of this. Only professional Idiots need to apply and no apprentices will be interviewed.
This is not a job for sissies; it entails long hours of vigilant watching and the reading of miles of boring blogs and comments to find something to pound on.
The successful applicant will be handsomely rewarded with diarrhoea-rich verbal abuse whenever he (or she) does the job properly by calling me an Idiot. Sorry, no basic salary; strictly commission only. No work, no pay.
This is a position of equal opportunity and any suitably qualified Idiot will be considered irrespective of race, religion, skin color, ethnicity, or gender. No hawkers, lawyers, female doctors or artificial inseminators please.
As it is not certain how many Idiots are around or how many may be interested in this post, I must request applicants not to mill around but to form a neat line to await their turn so not to block the way for my regular visitors.
Ah, no need to tell me now; I can still remember what I am.
Now go out there and have a glorious day
In this ever-changing world very little has changed on CS while I was gone. Still the same old political blogs, still the same old religious bashing and still the same old… Hey guess what! Before I could finish reading the second blog and before I could make a single comment, I had something waiting in my mailbox. Yea, still the same old scammers.
But some things did change. The faces did. Lots of new faces which is great. And many are missing. Most are sadly missed while the absence of others are almost welcomed – mind you, I should not say that – they keep things interesting. But it’s early days – they may all still pop up.
And then some still attend their own funerals after putting up a cry baby blog to serve as a tombstone while reading a self written eulogy. What disrespect for the death; not even allowing the self to rest in peace for a single day.
It is so much easier to put your bat under your arm and to walk back to the showers in stead of arguing with the umpires. That way there will be no booing from the pavilion when you come out to bat again.
As they say, the only constant in life is change but while nothing changes, things will remain the same.
What worried me most is that in twelve hours since I posted my first blog until I returned twelve hours later only five new blogs were posted. Not good enough. You guys are letting me down and driving me to Wilbur Smith and I don’t really like his books – which unfortunately is all I have to read at the present.
I see some people don't like blogs about certain topics. I suggest just scroll on by. I know this is a world wide forum but in our country we value our unalienable rights and one of them is freedom of speech. Without it one has no recourse but to lay slave to "Big Brother'. Without it your opinion does not matter. Without it you sacrifice your manhood or your actual being.
"The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments; and the freedom of the press, one of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable."
James Madison June 8, 1789
That's my opinion and I welcome yours.
