If You Love someone.... Is letting Her/Him Free your last option?

How true is the quote, "If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they’re yours; if they don’t, they never were."?dunno

White Lies

Some people believe that there are times when a lie will serve better than the truth and then they call it a white lie. I find it hard to reconcile myself with such a philosophy because I think it is yellow if you don’t have the guts to tell the truth; regardless of the results.scold

Let’s take a hypothetical case and imagine that your forty year old somewhat overweight mother, wife, sister, girlfriend, cousin, niece or whatever approaches you in a dress that sits way above her knees and asks you if she looks OK. It is obvious that she has her doubts otherwise she would not have asked. Now how do you reply?uh oh

You could tell her the truth and there is a possibility that she may be pissed off with you for a few days but she’ll get over it and more importantly, she'll know the truth - if she had not known it before. Or you can deceive her with a lie to make her happy but in believing that lie, she may make a spectacle of herself in public.doh

I could ask you which reply served her better; the truth that made her unhappy or the lie that made her happy but I won’t. I’ll rather ask you which you can live with better: To displease with the truth or to create a short-lived illusion of satisfaction with a lie. But don’t answer; I’ll leave that with you to chew on.mumbling

Of course, if she did not ask, you could have kept quiet. Ok, maybe the ethnics are not right but you still had the option to exercise your right to remain silent. But now that she asked, you are in a predicament. And this gives you another reason to be truthful; for people should learn not ask questions if any of the possible answers will offend them.dancing

Drama Drama Drama

I love a little drama, but it has to be entertaining.

Been away from this place for a few months and within a short time of giving my opinion on a blog, I’ve been attacked and vilified. It’s hilarious!

The judgmental calling others judgmental.

The hateful accusing others of being hateful.

The self proclaimed “guru” types with their incoherent ramblings accusing others of being pseudo psychologists

The thumpers of the “let me be me!” And “I have a right to post what I like!” mantra telling others to shut their pieholes and keep their opinions to themselves

The offended calling others names and doing the shaming bit

You all are great creators of drama but it would be fun if it was more original and less filled with this life or death kind of cray. Just sayin...

I Don't Think I was Rude

It happened about seven houses from home. The man saw me coming and moved to his garden wall as I returned from my regular morning walk. I cursed at myself for not being on the other side of the road. uh oh

It was obvious that he intended to talk to me and I don’t want to talk to him. I avoid people I don’t like. If a woman has to wear sunglasses to hide a black eye at times one can still argue that she walked into the door jamb; they both drink excessively during weekends but I know that is not the reason for the occasional black eye. I greet him when I see him but that is where it ends whereas I normally stop for a little small talk with the other neighbors.conversing

He asked me if I’m upset with him and I denied it. I’m not upset with him, I simply don’t like him. Then he asked why I never talk to him. I had already tried to get out of it by my tame reply on his previous question but he was not going to let up so I told him that I don’t like him. It is not an insult. I just don’t like him. snooty

He wanted to know why I don’t like him. “Look,” I said, “I’m sure you will be able to think of one or two reasons that will cause people not to like you. Some people dislike me as well. So why not leave it at that. I don’t want to get into an argument with you about this.” I was about to resume my walk home.mumbling

But he insisted that I tell him so I told him that I don’t like the way he treats his wife. He turned red and told me I’m interfering with his privacy. I replied that as his wife had to run to the neighbors for help several times in the past, it is no longer a private or domestic affair. He said that we’re a bunch of busybodies and that we should stay out of his private life.very mad

I told him to hell with his privacy and that if he asked a question, it is not my problem if he did not like the answer. I started walking again.doh

When I was about ten meters off he shouted, “You effing oxygen thief. You should stay out of my private affairs, effing rude old bastard.” I preferred to ignore him and walked on. For special effects he still added: “You effing stupid old arsehole!” He’s got a good thirty years on me but I fancied my chances with him. I had a good mind to turn around but sanity prevailed and I walked on.boxing

Now, more than two weeks later, I find the episode amusing and I wish there was somebody around to record a video of it. I would have loved to look at it from another angle but one thing stuck with me. How can he tell me I was rude when he was the only rude one around? I was polite and soft-spoken the whole time. I only responded to questions that he insisted on being answered.confused

The Telltales Of A Liar.

I was brought up to see the good in people and as a result, I have been deceived and lied to more than often. I was always prepared to believe a person until given enough reason not to believe him any more. scold

But this is no longer so. I don’t know exactly when this change came about but it was with some mild shock that I came to realize that I no longer trust people. Sometimes I even doubt people who had never given me reason to do so.sigh

Of course, I never tell people that I don’t believe them; nor do I alert them by probing for the truth. A liar at ease will soon betray himself.conversing

Having been a college lecturer for more than 20 years I had to listen to countless excuses why a task was not completed in time or why a lecture was missed. I did not take such lies personal; they were gambling with their own futures, not mine. Being the keen observer of people that I am, I learned the telltales of a lie with time.professor

Liars will often place extra emphasis on the denial by the use formal language and will unconsciously send signals of anxiety by adjusting a tie or touching the hair. They may unconsciously smile when they believe that they have deceived you again. Sweating may also be a sign but the person may just me nervous.dunno

They tend to give too much information in an effort to cover up their lies. They will have problems repeating the events around the lie in reverse sequence because it did not happen that way.blah

They will often repeat the entire question before starting to reply to it. This is to buy time to think about what to say. A person speaking the truth will maintain eye contact for about 60% of the time while a liar will often keep eye contact for much longer in an effort to create an image of honesty.uh oh

True emotions ‘leak’ through the best disguise when lying and is best witnessed when a person nods his head while denying something or shake it when confirming. Your body will often betray a lie. Liars often change their vocal tone when lying and will be hesitant in their speech.dancing

A liar will subconsciously point his feet to the exit and will attempt to place physical barriers, (like water jugs or glasses) between himself and his questioners.hole

Unlike a liar, an honest person – when falsely accused – will be furious. However, they will still be co-operative and helpful while interrogated.innocent

You will probably never see all these signs at the same time but when you see two or three the warning lights should flash. More than that and you can safely assume that you are being lied to. However, knowing that you are being lied to, is only part of the problem. Getting to the truth is another matter and this is where I play dumb and wait for the truth to surface.wow

How It Is Done

Some of my friends believe that I eat my meat raw, but they are wrong. Generally my meat must be well done, especially if it is on a bone. If there is any redness against the bone, I stop eating it right there.doh

The only exception is rump steak. I’m talking about the beef variety now. Even kudu steaks must be well done. Not cremated or dry, just well done. But when it comes to a piece of rump steak, cut from a domesticated bovine creature, I eat it in a condition when a good veterinary surgeon will still be able to haul it through. I don’t mind if it moos at me when I put my fork into it. It must just not run away.laugh

Do you like it the way I do?dunno

I don’t know why some of my friends believe that they are gods to demand that I bring them burned offerings.giggle

“How many September 11ths has the United States caused in other nations since WWII?”

Terrorism is, in its broadest sense, the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror or fear, in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. It is classified as fourth-generation warfare and as a violent crime.[citation needed] In modern times, terrorism is considered a major threat to society and therefore illegal under anti-terrorism laws in most jurisdictions.[citation needed][dubious – discuss] It is also considered a war crime under the laws of war when used to target non-combatants, such as civilians, neutral military personnel, or enemy prisoners of war.
Although "terrorism" originally referred to acts committed by a government, currently it usually refers to the killing of innocent people for political purposes in such a way as to create a spectacle ( WIKIPEDIA)

Funny, how many people refer to all Muslims as terrorists...isn't the great US of A and other countries guilty of terrorism when they invade other countries and killed millions and millions of innocents? or they is it simply their way of helping and making the world a better place , by murdering millions of innocents ?

DATING or SOCIAL SITE

This is an open blog seeking thoughts and opinions about what CS is really all about.

It is advertised as a dating site with many other features.
But I ask, isn’t it really just a social site with some dating features.

Just as Facebook and Twitter are social sites. There has been success in some from those sites getting together and dating, even getting married.

Let’s break down what makes a social site.

A social site is a place where people can meet and make friends through communication over the World Wide Web. Where games, puzzles, communication publicly or privately, a collection of members that can interact in so many different ways, A place where people can meet and share life experiences and make new friends as well as catch up with friends they haven’t seen for a while, Somewhere they can post pictures and tell stories, tall and true, A place where people can interact on a daily basis. Isn’t this CS?

What is so different between CS and Facebook, Twitter, even LinkedIn or any other social networking site?

Should we just consider CS a dating site that offers more than other dating sites, or should we view it as a Social Site that offers more than other Social Sites?

Advertisers are equally important to both Social Sites and Dating Sites, or do advertisers pay more because a site specialises in Social networking or Dating?

How many Dating sites allow debate about various topics such as Capital Punishment, Religion, Same sex marriages and so forth? Yet social sites encourage this type of interaction.

How many Dating sites have extras such as a poets corner, forums, blogs, face puzzles, photo ratings and so on? Yet Social sites have all these.

I could go on and on and on, but I really would like all those out there in CS land to give me their view/opinion.

WHAT DO YOU THINK CS IS REALLY ALL ABOUT?
I may not be able to quickly respond to all comments, but i would really appreciate as much feedback as possible.
I will be back to add my thoughts a little later.
Thanking you all in advance.

doh cheers handshake
