Man Haters.
There was a time when we saw a lot of blogs running men down. For some reason or another, we don’t see them that often lately but when you read some of the comments on the blogs, man haters are still alive and well and thriving in Blogland. Which is peculiar; after all, this is a dating site.
The strange part of it is that the blogs where these anti-male comments appear are seldom about men, so the hate must be very close to the surface. And it is not just random members; it is mostly the same faces. Another odd thing is that most such comments are not really insulting men; they rather carry an undertone of dislike, bitterness, and distrust towards men although some of them are downright offending if not slanderous.
I said it a few times before that writing reveals our souls but when we write a blog, we have the time to sanitize it somewhat though the undertones are subconscious and can never be hidden. Comments on the other hand, are more impulsive and we have less time to think about it. The true self shows much clearer in a comment.
Yes, I know we see the same thing done by men from time to time but not even nearly as often as what the ladies can manage it. Of course being a male, I may not notice it as easy.
It would seem (to me) that men forgiveand forget easier than women do; or do we just hide our feelings deeper?

More Important
Few things can annoy me more than people who think their cause is more important than others who are in a similar situation.
BLM comes to mind. It is not that I think that black lives don't matter. To me, when a white (or black) cop kills a black (or white) man in the USA, it is no different than when a black (or white) vagrant kills a white (or black) farmer in South Africa. The fact is that all lives matter.
Sometimes we are too fond of playing the race card when we cannot get our way otherwise. In my experience such a person either secretly resent who he is and really wish he was somebody else or otherwise he uses racism as a ruse to gain sympathy for his cause.
Using racism as a prop just takes the focus away from the real problem.

Bit of a roller coaster this article, man leaves granddaughter, 10 months old, in the back of a car in Spain, in summer, hanging is too good for him but read on, he went for a coffee & forgot he'd left her there, so poor man has trouble with memory 
not his fault But hold on, cars here heat up in less than a minute to maybe 50c+, who would leave a dog, let alone a child in a car under those conditions 
I can't think of a single place in Spain where kids are not welcomed with open arms, was it he couldn't be bothered to take her

Standing On A Soap Box
When I was a child you could stand on a soap box on Piccadilly Square and shout out all your grudges – or so I heard – and very soon you would have a crowd of sympathetic ears. And if you did it often and loud enough, the people would gather even before you arrived to spread your poison.
Of late, if you have a grudge against men, or a grudge against women, or religion or just anything; even just a grudge against somebody you don’t know, you go on line, find a site where you can blog and shout it out. And in true Piccadilly Square style, very soon you will have a fan club to endorse your view.
When I first joined CS in January last year, it was the blogs that got me hooked. Yes, there were the niggles in between but we were having fun most of the time. Somehow that fun has deteriorated to the point where we see too much unhappiness. This is not the place for hate speech.
What is the mucking fatter with the people? This is supposed to be a dating site that should be bubbling with joy and pleasure but instead, all we ever hucking fear, is a bunch of mucking foans. What does it matter if a few tucking frolls want to spoil the shucking fow?
Let’s have some fun again for a change. So come tell me what you need and I will tell you how to get on without it.

What I’m Trying To Say
When I first came here about three years ago, I did not attract much attention for a few weeks and everybody was friendly towards me. As I started to attract some attention, some of the older hands started insulting me. At first I took it as a joke but when it went on I started retaliating.
I was accused of being the same entity as the late Simmo, and also to be the same persona of an inactive blogger of long standing here. Now Simmo is gone but I’m still here. The other person is also still here, but I think that fantasy has also died an early death.
I was called narcissistic. I cannot even spell it, I had to look it up in the dictionary because I spelled it so wrong that my spellchecker did not even recognize it.
Narcissistic. Ah, I got it right this time. Anyway, I sat down and wondered if all those people could be wrong. Incidentally, that was the problem with all my enemies. They said I was narcissistic. Hey, I got it right again. Apparently, being narcissistic was my only flaw.
And I started working on my problem. I’m taking about being narcissistic now. I sat down and practiced to be humble and modest. It was hard work, but it paid off in the end.
I am no longer narcissistic. I am humble and modest now. So if that was my only flaw, I must be purrrfect now.
What I’m trying to say is that we all have our flaws, for instance I like to mock with myself and others but never know when to stop. People don’t always realize that I’m teasing and we have problems. Right now, we are only polarizing the blogs and it is not needed. The way we’re proceeding now, we are not going to end before some of us are suspended.
Let’s stop the crap now. If we don’t like somebody, let’s just ignore him or her. We are grown-ups and should behave like that. We don't have to read blogs that we don't like.

Regarding “Editorial: Texas’ nursing shortage is costing lives, and Gov. Abbott let it happen,” (Aug. 17): Gov. Greg Abbott’s support comes largely from rural areas and, as you point out, hospitals in those areas are bearing the brunt of his decisions. But those decisions are largely supported by the folks in those areas. His lack of leadership is actually a reflection of his base and he continues to build a large re-election campaign fund from that base. How long are the rest of us going to allow this sick system to continue?
It is past time for those of us that are vaccinated to say enough is enough to those adults that choose to not be vaccinated. There need to be financial consequences for those who are not vaccinated who contract COVID, not extraordinary measures to treat them. Personal responsibility is, after all, a conservative mantra. There is no “right” to bring our health care system to the brink due to lack of personal responsibility.

As coronavirus infections surge there has been increasing concern about the availability of hospital beds in many cities, including Houston. It is curious that while many restaurants, shops and other businesses allow entrance only to vaccinated customers, no hospitals have similar requirements, even as space becomes short. How does it serve equity or public health if a sick patient, through no fault of his own, or a sick child — not eligible for vaccination — is turned away because all the beds are filled with people who, by their own preference for “personal choice,” and despite the danger they pose to others in the community, refuse vaccination? Of course, if there is no shortage of beds, these people should be admitted, but in light of the increased threat that they pose to staff and other patients, it would be reasonable to impose an additional charge for their treatment.
The possibility of higher hospital costs or refusal of admittance to a hospital might convince some to get the vaccine. The economic incentive could be carried a step further if the insurance companies refused to pay the medical costs of the unvaccinated. This is not a drastic action. Most insurance policies require that the insured take normal steps to avoid an insured loss. A homeowner cannot burn the house down and collect on the fire insurance policy.

Let's Ask Iran And Hamas To Stop As Well
Everybody calls for Israel to stop their attacks on Gaza. I fully agree with that but if they stop, will Hamas also stop? After all, they are responsible for the latest escalation of the war. And before you tell me that this is a seventy year old issue, I'm aware of that, but I'm talking about the current state of affairs.
Hamas don't care one bit about the Palestinians. Surely they knew that their acts of terrorism would provoke an Israeli retaliation of this kind. Actually, I believe that the current state of events is exactly what Hamas intended to provoke. And remember, Hamas have not seized their attacks on Israel for a moment.
They still fire missiles at Israel all the time. The proper response to a missile attack is to strike at where the missile was launched from. Sadly Hamas uses schools and hospitals as human shields by launching their missiles from there. Then everybody wants to condemn Israel but nobody says anything about the barbaric terrorists
trading as angelic Hamas. 
How can we expect Israel to stop while still under attack? It seems that everybody forgot the barbarous attack that initiated the current events. So, why don't we ask Iran and their stooges, whose only declared purpose is the destruction Israel, to stop as well?

These terrorists are not interested in peace. As long as they can lay their hands on weapons they will practise terrorism. It's their only trade.
