Just want to set the record straight...

I received an email that said I'm a tease and flirting with every man here on blogs and that I'm hurting other women here.

I am not aware of that. I clearly stated that I'm here for some fun friendly chat with my friends here ( you all know who you are! ) I hardly have time to spend enough time to join in the fun after-blog banters here and I really miss that.

I've made things clear here, I wasn't in a relationship when I joined CS 11 months ago. I've met someone here who became very close to me but for obvious reason I couldn't meet and had to let down ( and you also know who I'm talking about)

Though far apart, my ex-bf and I sorted things out and back together and I'm doing my best to be a better loyal partner for him. I couldn't stress this enough...I'm here to interact and have fun chat with my friends all over the world...

If I've hurt others here, I apologize. I didn't mean to. If I unconsciously flirted and crossed your red line, it' s not intended to hurt anyone, just having some harmless fun.

I mean this very very nicely...teddybear

Have a great day everyone!

Nerve wrecking driving...Help!

Dear All

The neighbour have awesome young children. They all like the aunty next door...that's medancing. The other day the 'young ones ' invited me to go along on a safari trip 200 km from our home town. What a suppose to be treat for the day..., but my oh my wow - the drive down there got me thinking I need to have my blood pressure checked. Thought I would be in a position to take a snooze sleep, being a passenger for a change, but instead it kept me thinking confused as to if all is in order should it be my last day angel.

Long story short, we arrived in one piece applause,...these youngsters were raised in a farm environment, so they could drive since they were very young, they got their licences the first time they went to qualify, but still their driving is just different in my experience. Is there any one else with the same experience, or is it just me, being a bad back seat driverdoh

PS: Think everyone can guess what I did when I got home again...
cheers

Really, do people only w a nt to know what you look like naked? Come on people, there is more to life than an exposed pictures of mens and womens genitalia. If that is your whole game, then ugghhhh.
EXPERIENCES on the other hand is a whole d ifferent creature. Sharing experiences with one another, and making discoveries and solutions, thats what is important to me. So feel free to share your experiences.

So what is the protocol on CS? Any plans to meet w

Dear All.

I haven't been on this site for long and really enjoyed it so far. Maybe the topic has been discussed previously, but are there any plans to maybe get together in 2015? I am not a big traveller, therefore I will not necessarily join the travel forum, however it will be great to meet blog friends in real terms.

Maybe there is a boat trip and we can set a date, and all CS travellers can wear purple that day rolling on the floor laughing . on a serious note, ...We can wear any coloryay . Even our CS site people can join, they do an awesome job, by providing us with the interface to communicate.

To All of you...Thanks for a great time on this site. God bless...Merry Christmas...xx

How prepared are we really for negative life Event

Dear All

A month or two back my mom fell and got a hip injury. What a traumatic event...she was taken to a hospital 300 km from our home town for a hip replacement. My dad is bed bounded for the past 15 years and our focus was so much on the assumed 'weaker one ' that when mom got the injury we really realised that very little was in place for what happened that morning at our house. This made me again to realise that there are no guarantees in this life...5 minutes and our life can make a dramatic turn.
Thought to share this as we can so easily get overwhelmed by the atmosphere of a festive season and the idea of a great life and great living that we sometimes go unprepared for bad things that can happen.
How many of us have 'pajamas' and a 'every one could see that tooth brush' in case we need to go to a hospital, has someone with a spare key for our homes in case we need someone to fetch something for us, has a file with our medical cards and other important detail? Do we have unattended important issues that we will regret in case we will not be able to do that any more even if we want to. Example...that promised visit or undelivered letter...

My point is...One should be also prepared for the unexpected and, if we want to do something, we need to do it today as life is a blessing and not a guarantee.

Nothing is impossible.

A few hundred years ago, flying was said to be impossible and yet, a mere 70 years after the invention of true flight, we have been to the moon and back. We are bound by unproven theories and laws, compiled by ‘clever’ people, telling us that certain things are impossible. The fact is that if we don’t know how to do something (yet), it does not mean it impossible.professor

Theories and natural laws are mostly around because nobody could prove them wrong to date, not because somebody proved it correct. Not even Albert Einstein’s relativity theory is beyond doubt. In a few hundred years, we may laugh at his folly. Look how long we believed that the earth was the center of the universe and Sir Francis Drake had to sail around the world to prove that the earth was round.giggle

So, follow your dreams and don’t be bound by conventions and theories. Conventional thinking gets you nowhere. Explore the unknown and think laterally. If not for that, we would still have been in the Stone Age, living in caves. If brave people did not stake their careers and reputations – even their lives – to challenge the impossible, we would have been nowhere today.applause

Something is only impossible until somebody figures out a way to do it. Everything that we do today was once thought to be impossible.cheering

Why does bad things happen to good People?

I need perspective...and I am therefore open to different opinions.
Background:
I'm a trained Industrial Psychologist and left a good job in Johannesburg to move closer to my folks last year December. My dad is bed bounded for the past 15 years and my mom had polio as a little girl. Most of my family is in Germany, I'm the only child, couldn't find a life partner as yet and do not have any children. Just as I arrived in the Northern Cape, my mom fell and I have two bed bounded folks I have to take care of.

Question:
Now, I need to know if there are any other people who also sometimes wonder as to why bad things happen to good People?
I'm not Miss Perfect, but I try to be good and do good where ever I go. So, tell me why does life have to be like This? Am I the only one who are maybe too critical when it gets to why things happen the way it Does?

PS: Remember to give the people you know who are caregivers a special hug this Christmas, as it could be very much needed.

Cuba!

I, for one, am certainly not an Obama fan, particularly after the discovery of how he sold us all down the river with Obamacare. But perhaps the old saying “even a blind pig finds a potato in the snow once in awhile” might be the most fitting, I think he has hit a home run with this one. It will be no less controversial that President Ford’s pardon of Richard Nixon, but as with that situation, in the long run, it’s going to go down in history as a very smart move, especially after the Russians took Crimea. They will be smarting over this one for a long time, particularly with their economy on the brink of a possible collapse where they are in no position to go to Cuba with large packages of aid. Cube was ripe for the picking and Obama made a smart move. And lets not forget that Cuba & North Korea are the only two countries on the face of the earth that don’t have Coca Cola …. So soon, it will be down to one!

Looking at the polls, not everyone is convinced it’s a good idea, but of those with the strongest objections are the same that lived to see the Castro governments rise and all the evils it embraced. You can’t bring about change on the world stage if you aren’t willing to put aside old differences for new opportunities. Without that there would never be peace in the world and enemies would be forever. Putting together diplomatic relations, easing trade embargo’s and travel restrictions will give Cuba the opportunity at greater economic opportunities and in the long run, a long standing enemy may transpire into a great friend of the USA and eliminate one more communistic government in this hemisphere.

Certainly there will be difficulties as with any new relationship, but here is a case where both countries have the opportunity to prosper based upon mutual exchange. Cuba needs much modernization which presents opportunity to American business and having access to American markets will spur the Cuban economy. Needless to say, the opportunity for tourism will be a big advantage to Cuba and the future opportunity for tourist related industries for both countries will abound. And don’t get me started on those wonderful C uban cigars ….. oh lord!

Some of the lesser considered advantages would be having supporter in anti-terrorism, anti-trafficking of narcotics & human trafficking, the elimination of future military threats that were once long standing and the opportunity for many families to reconnect with family members on both sides of the gulf.

Nobody is saying it won’t take time and there won’t be bumps in the road. There are always such problems in any relationship, particularly when sworn enemies decide to be friends; but in the long run this one is going to have a lot more advantages and will be worth the efforts.

Over the years I have had two opportunities to visit Cuba. The people were very nice and the hospitality was endless. Bringing in American dollars certainly didn’t hurt either. Walking the streets of Havana was like stepping back into an old 1950’s movie and those taxi’s … I’ve never seen so many 1950 era Chevy’s in my life … just selling old vintage cars to Americans will be a tremendous boost for the local folks! LOL

It won’t be a walk in the park for business. There are already a number of established non-American companies into agriculture, mining, etc. so our business folks will need to be sharp, but the opportunities for improved telecommunications, computers, hotels, legalized gambling, and many more will be there … it all depends upon our governments to start this dance slowly and not throw up any walls. Diplomacy will most certainly be the key.

Personally, I’ve checked out my passport and in about two years I’m going to be ready for a visit. Hope to see you there!

The Test of Time

Looks like it’s time again for Americans to experience another one of the big economic swings that pops up every now and then. Great celebrations over gas prices that have dropped under $3 and in 13 states under $2 a gallon. Just in time for Christmas is making everyone feeling a little more prosperous and loosening up the old purse strings. Hopefully, this time around, we’ll see a lot more saving than spending as well as paying off all those pesky credit card bills, but considering past practice, I sincerely doubt it. It seems that even in the worst of times we find a way to get the kids more Christmas gifts than they need and splurge on lots of other things that we spend months paying off, if we get to it.

Elsewhere we are seeing all sorts of economic shifts. The oil industry is already feeling the pinch and the “Fracking Boys” are already talking about a long term shut down, which is exactly what the Arab oil nations would like to see. The Russian economy is nearing collapse again and Mr. Putin seems to be a lot quieter than he has been over the past year. Personally, I would not be surprised to see him be replaced by the Pollitt Bureau in a couple of months if he can’t find a way to turn it around, which will be particularly difficult since the US has announced a NEW set of restrictions and penalties that go into effect immediately.

Not a peep out of China, yet but you can be sure as this economic turn starts having an effect on other countries it will be in all the head lines. In the meantime, I certainly don’t object to having that extra $20 in my pocket each week. I do wonder how much this will drive industry into expansion, if at all. It seems that cheap energy always helps the over all economy, even when it hurts those closest to the energy industry … what just how bad will it hurt? The big producers will only make one billion in profits rather than the three or more they have become used to? And how about the trucking industry? They will certainly see better profits, and if they are smart, some decline in costs to their clients. Funny to hear that they airline industry hasn’t and has no intentions of rolling back ticket prices well into 2015 but no doubt, that will catch up with them and the minute one airline starts lowering prices the rest will get whipped into a lather almost immediately. If only all of this could have a direct effect on those darn cable TV and internet costs!

Optimism abounds as can be seen by the newest hopes that the US and Cuba will renew it’s old friendship that existed before the overthrow of Batista back in the 60’s. The recent release of Alan Gross paves the way for better relationships with a relaxation of the trade embargos. One thing is for sure, both countries will benefit from better trade relations and with Russia on the verge of collapse, there is a lot more incentive, particularly for those Cubans that would like to adopt a bit more capitalism into their economy, especially anything that would restart the flow of American dollars their way.

Across the globe we could see a lot more changes. If the economy starts growing in other countries, organizations like the Taliban & ISSIS will start seeing a decline in their followers since their ranks are mostly those that have lost hope of finding work and are desperate for anything they can believe in. China may have to loosen it’s grip on Hong Kong and Taiwan not to mention all those dissidents that are spending so much time protesting rather than at their jobs making money for the country.

Yes … it is certainly going to be interesting to watch but strange enough, I haven’t seen or heard of how it will affect the Zombie attackers we keep seeing on TV. I’ve got plenty of ammo and beanie weenie’s stocked up; but since they walk everywhere I see no benefit to them … of course with gas prices down we can all keep the old truck filled up and get out more often to mow ‘em down! Hmmmmm …. a win / win?
