The many faces

Embedded image from another site
.............. How many faces do you have and ...
do you know all those faces?
How do you find the courage to allow all those faces of yourself and to take off your mask? ....... From childhood we have learned to adapt, first to our parents, later to the teachers, our friends, the society ...
We also learn to show our best at young age. We hide the "faces" that are not appreciated, that are distorted, behind a "mask".
That very special mask, only suitable and suitable for you.
A mask behind which you can hide your "true face". Sometimes so good that you do not remember what those faces of you look like. When you show your true face, you become open and vulnerable and nobody wants that anyway?
And then there comes a time when your mask will pinch and you want to lose it.cheers................

Ping

I can remember, back in the 1970s, a very novel machine suddenly appeared in motorway services. It had a screen, and two knobs by which two short white lines could be induced to travel vertically up and down the left and right edges of the screen. It was the first computer game to be presented to the public, and could well have been called Ping, had they not called it Pong.

Not very long after that the game became available to buy, in the form of a little box that could be connected to a TV set. Oh, the thrill of being able to move -to your own your will- an image on your TV screen. Up till then television sets could only deliver passive amusement, but now we could be in control. What a feeling of power that was. Of course, you needed to have children in whose name you bought the game, but they rarely got anywhere near it.

Things moved on quite quickly during the subsequent years, and computer games became very sophisticated. I couldn’t keep away from Tomb Raider for a few months, although the driving force behind that was not so much a desire to get to the next level, but rather a compulsion to get lara Croft to do something -I finally had to concede- she was not designed to do. I wouldn’t have admitted it to anyone though; computer games were for kids.

How things have changed. I work with a man in his sixties who freely boasts about how many rampaging aliens he killed on the pervious night. There is a thriving market in adult computer games, and grownups are no longer ashamed or self conscious about playing them. Of course, they are not playing games -as a child might be described as doing- they are “gaming”. A designation the industry came up with to turn childish play into a legitimate adult activity. A rose by any other name.

Political Bickering Is Pointless - Oligarchy Wins.

The Citizens United Decision Made Corporations = People & Money = Political Speech.

Shall we begin by defining our subject(s)?
We shall.

This is a Brief - 3 1/2 minute - introduction to Oligarchy ...

This is a Very Brief - ONE Minute grin - description of the 2010 Citizens United SCOTUS Decision ...

(Corporate 'Crat Hildebeest wants Citizens United repealed? That's Cute giggle )

Anyway -
Murkuns are now allowed a Choice laugh between Two candidates pre-selected by the Donor Class.
This is Especially true on the National Level - Prez sElections - but also in elections farther down the ballot.

It makes No Difference which individual candidate/Major Party prevails.
Either Way - OLIGARCHY WINS!! ... peace

The Oligarchy benefits from 'Crats & 'Publicans demonizing one another devil
It keeps folks Scared into voting the preselected Plutocrat "Choices" ... wink

It's why there's an Illusion(!) of dichotomy between the Major Parties.
The system feeds off fear & eliciting emotional responses among voters.

Keep these things in mind when watching political ads & hearing folks talk politics.
It's Fear Driven.
It's not what a candidate will Accomplish cheering - It's that the opposition is Vile devil

Not running on accomplishing anything has an Added advantage.
Once elected, the candidate's supporters won't expect much (if anything) from him.
He satisfied his voters' Primary concerns by savin' 'em from the Vile opponent! . bowing

This explains the pre-selected options voters we were given in '16 & now again in '20.
Both are arguably vile & substantial numbers of voters are Damned glad One of 'em ain't Prez!!

I'LL B'LIEVE A CORPORATION'S A PERSON WHEN TEXAS EXECUTES ONE!! devil

Doctor Calderwood, and liberal Pols'-

-do as I say, not as I do. Advice to the citizens, stay home, your only home. As she travels back and forth between her TWO residences. Yet she refuses to resign. Wish someone would start making this stuff up. Google her act.

we have come a long way.

I often wonder what may lay around the next corner. But one thing I am sure of, is that I have in a lot of ways got it quite easy.
Looking back and seeing what a fight the blood that flows through my veins has been trough, to place me here in the years of my life.
I hope that in distant years to come that same blood will flow and life will be easier again and my survival however trivial it may seem. Will mean something to someone cool

A good docu about the ice age.

Here is a serious question

Here is a serious question I wonder about. Do we live in a world with REAL problems and REAL situations, or do we live in a FAKE WORLD with FAKE SITUATIONS? Is the world we live in a REAL reality, or is the world we live in a FAKE reality??cheers

Feminism

Feminism is a range of social movements, political movements, and ideologies that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes. Feminism incorporates the position that societies prioritize the male point of view, and that women are treated unfairly within those societies. Efforts to change that include fighting gender stereotypes and seeking to establish educational and professional opportunities for women that are equal to those for men.

Throughout most of Western history, women were confined to the domestic sphere, while public life was reserved for men. In medieval Europe, women were denied the right to own property, to study, or to participate in public life. At the end of the 19th century in France, they were still compelled to cover their heads in public, and, in parts of Germany, a husband still had the right to sell his wife. Even as late as the early 20th century, women could neither vote nor hold elective office in Europe and in most of the United States (where several territories and states granted women’s suffrage long before the federal government did so). Women were prevented from conducting business without a male representative, be it father, brother, husband, legal agent, or even son. Married women could not exercise control over their own children without the permission of their husbands. Moreover, women had little or no access to education and were barred from most professions. In some parts of the world, such restrictions on women continue today.

Why do so many hate the term feminism and the feminist movement?
I believe there are five critical reasons behind this:

1. Feminism has been associated with strong, forceful and angry women, and our society continues to punishes forceful women. (So much recent data and research has proved this.)

2. Many people fear that feminism will mean that men will eventually lose out – of power, influence, impact, authority, and control, and economic opportunities.

3. Many people believe that feminists want to control the world and put men down.

4. Many people fear that feminism will overturn time-honored traditions, religious beliefs and established gender roles, and that feels scary and wrong.

5. Many people fear that feminism will bring about negative shifts in relationships, marriage, society, culture, power and authority dynamics, and in business, job and economic opportunities if and when women are on an equal footing with men.

What are your views on Feminism?

Open discussion welcome!
