I've never had any desire to talk about religion or politics

And now it seems that so many in these forums, blogs, and the world in general want to shove their point of view in your face without tolerance or respect for others. It's precisely why I despise discussing those two subjects.

Am I an anachronism? Is it still possible to banter and have fun without politics and religion entering the discussion? dunno

Possibly spending some much needed time with K!

The place where I went on a shoot yesterday was in the same city that K lives in. She was around 10 minutes walk from the prison, which would be perfect for me to just say "Hey, so I am close to you now. Wanna meet?" But I knew she was eating at 6 pm, so I didn't want to drag her away from where she lived. As it turns out, she is at her parents place, which is in a completely different city, so it would not have been possible for us to meet up anyway. But, we have made some other arrangements.

She told me, that she might be available to meet up on Tuesday, so fingers crossed she will be able to meet up. "But wait, aren't you supposed to stay 2 metres apart?", I hear you ask. Not anymore! They have recommended, that 1 metre is plenty. No handshakes or hugs are allowed, so we'll just have to manage without it.

I asked K what she wanted to do, but she didn't really know. She asked me what I wanted to do, but she knows her city better than I do, so it would be up to her what we were going to do. She mentioned something about a park and a lake, so that is probably where we end up going. It'll be nice with a walk, particularly if the weather is great. These past few days have really shown itself from the best side, with cloud free days and temperatures in the double digits. So I am thinking a walk in the sunshine would be fantastic! I'll bring my camera to take some pictures. It's been a while since I have been using it, so it'll be nice to get it going again.

By the way, the campaign I was filming for will be shown once this corona epidemic is done here in Denmark. The latest projections say sometime in July or August, so it might be around September, hopefully. By then I can call myself a TV star (not really, though laugh )

But the main focus right now is to meet up with K and spend a few hours with her. I also need to find a gift for her when she moves into her new place, and I have found the exact thing: It's a table top game called X-Wing! The starter set to begin with, and then slowly expanding the game.

Also, the lottery is tomorrow, and fingers crossed that I will win something. If I do, and if the winnings are large enough, then I might just go and buy a place to live. Imagine putting down a massive amount of money and going "Key, please! Thank you!". There is a place for sale here in my town for $253.149. You might go "Wait, that's expensive", but actually it's not. The town I live in is notoriously expensive to buy a place in. But we will see what happens. No reason to get excited too early.

But for now, I will just relax and hunt for a job. Who knows, maybe I will find that perfect job for me!

Chores day & eagle momma with baby.

Today was a day that I accomplished a lot of chores to do.
Included in that was installing new spark plugs, laundry and food shopping at 3 different places.
I also did a lot of walking in woods taking pictures of various birds, including a yellow shafted flicker;

and a bird I am unfamiliar with. confused
It had a light yellow chest and gray wings. It was bigger than a goldfinch or a yellow flicker and the chest was not as bright yellow. It was about the size of a cardinal. I never saw it before. It had a mate, as did the other 2 birds. In fact the catbirds were not shy at all about making whoopie today, all 2 seconds of it. laugh

The photographic catch of the day, however, was when I stopped by the bald eagle's nest.
When I got there, the female was feeding the eaglet, who was deep down in the nest.
Momma was beak down in the nest and buns up, not an ideal pose.
However, later, the mother hopped onto a branch and I got 3/4 full frame shots of her cleaning her
beak against the branch, and then upright looking at me and looking to the left and looking to the right.
After that I got full frame shots of her in the upper right hand corner of the photo and the baby in the lower left corner in the nest. I'll be adding those shots to the many, that I sell. I'm sure customers will love them.

On the way home to celebrate I bought a box of all natural frozen fruit bar popsicles.
The top half is dipped in dark chocolate.
Somehow :winking: on the drive home, one of those popsicles worked it's way out of the box and the bag and made it to my hand while I was driving. Obviously, it was anxious to be eated. So, I had to oblige. dancing The rest went into the freezer when I got home for other days.

So, I hope you had a good day too.

Freezer organization

I had food delivered yesterday with some stuff Mom needs so I'll take that over later. When I was putting the meats in the freezer I saw how full the freezer is. I thought to myself I should take inventory.

Several hours later I came across an article offering 17 tips for people who are cooking more than normal during this pandemic. One of the things was to organize the freezer and take inventory to make life more managable. This would certainly helped me more when I cooked for four. However the freezer is chock full. I knew it was a good idea so I got pad and pen out, put it by the freezer and thought I would jump on this first thing in the morning by pulling everything out, write it down, put it back properly to have more room.

I was so excited to start, so early this morning armed with a cup of coffee, I opened my freezer and cripes the excitement fled and left me in despare staring at the mess I don't want to deal with.

So I fricken blogged instead. pfffft I sure disappointed myself. Now I just have to wait for the whim to hit me again so I can accomplish this goal. I'm almost 70 years old and still can't predict my actions. heart wings

Not a Gardener

I blogged my first attempt at gardening about 3 gardens ago. At first I was excited to try my hand at it so I planted a variety of veggies. In the tropics bugs and fungus thrive and beat me up. Gave a feeble attempt at the second planting but even more so the fungus among us was too much. I threw the towel in and quit trying to grow food. Much cheaper to buy.

Naturally the yard begs to differ with me. A tomato plant that should have died off with the rest stayed alive and is now full of little green tomatoes. In another part a tomato spung up all buy itself, it also havs little maters all over it.

In the house I had one sweet potato and one white one that for some reason I never cooked, they grew eyes. I couldn't make myself throw them away so I went out and threw them undersome dirt in an empty raised garden box. When I watered it the first time I noticed the greenery they started growing looked mighty healthy. This morning the greenery has taken over the box looking healthy and beautiful. One of those potatoes grew vines which are down on the ground. I know NOTHING of growing or how to harvest potatoes. I watched some you tube but forgot everything. It will be interesting to see if the potatoes grow into the ground or just in the garden box. Truth be told I never expected them to take I just figured they would turn into compost. Oh and I have a bell pepper plant & one collard green yielding too. No help from me. They grew on their own.

This Time of Year...

This time of year make me very nostalgic for the graduation ceremonies.

For a very long time, I worked as one of 2 customer service supervisors for a major graduation cap and gown company. I really loved my job. It was extremely busy from January to June. We worked crazy long hours in the office and many more hours taking work home with us. Everyday was different. Each supervisor was responsible for 2 teams of 4 customer service reps and 2 temps during the "busy" season. Each team was responsible for approximately 30 sales reps except for mine. My team was special. We only had about 10 reps. Our sales reps represented a lot of high priority schools such as Harvard, Yale, Temple, Univ of Penn. etc. Our volume was extremely high and we had to be on point. My sales reps were awesome and I still keep in touch with them.

One of the most interesting things that I learned was that holding a degree of higher learning such as a doctorate, didn't mean that they had a higher level of common sense. They couldn't sometimes, see the forest for the trees.

An example was a man that was graduating with a doctorate degree. He had lost the paper measuring tape that was included with his packet. He was in a tizzy. He wanted me to "fax" him another one. Um sir, I can't do that. The tape is like 8 feet long. I can mail you another one or maybe you could borrow a colleague or fellow student's? His response was "what if they're not as tall as I am?" I didn't know if I should laugh, cry or throw the phone against the wall. We have calls upon calls backed up and I have to deal with this nonsense. I had to explain to him that all of the tapes were the same. All I needed was his height, weight and cap size. He then asked to speak to a manager. My manager spoke with him and ended up sending him to the registrar's office. Then she came out of her office and asked me "what the hell was wrong with that guy?"

We both agreed that just because you think you're smart doesn't mean that you are smart.

What dream do you want to come true, in reality?

The area I specialise in, is available across the world (as we know it):

I would like to move to one specific area, and then my dream will be true, after staying there a few years and liking it.

Do you find that You have learned from the Past?

I have found the past and present very much the same, as the people don't change, even though you try to learn, from the past. You do learn from your own experiences, if you let yourself, and ignore!

Zoom

Zoom is a program that makes virtual meetings happen or groups of friends can all chat with each other from their homes. Technology is difficult on my but I got Zoom working. In my first meeting I could see & hear my instructor and co-mates but no one could see or hear me. I had a chat function - someone sent private instructions but Zoom can't find my camera and I couldn't find my head phones. Two weeks later I found my microphone, plugged it in and now can be heart but still not seen.

I seached for "camera" on the expensive Alien Ware Dell gaming machine with two large monitors and I think I have turned all icons to on. My guess is this stupid computer doesn't have a camera or it is the stupid operator that can't find the right setting.

There is a series call ALL RISE on TV - the last episode was great. It is about a judge, the judicial system with lawyers, prosecutors, criminals and victims acting in the show. They performed the show from their homes on Zoom. With all the crimes cased backing up waiting for trial, the had a virtual experimental trial on Zoom. Right with the times on this pandamic.

Florida opened up a bit on monday. I'm keeping my house closed a bit longer, the dog and I are doing just fine.

Stay safe and kind.

Job interview and the Air Force came by my house.

Yesterday was the 4th of May, Remembrance of the Dead. In that honor, the Danish Air Force decided to do a fly-over, to mark the occasion. Two of their F-16 Fighting Falcon jets made several passes, right over my house. I love the whoosh that the jet engines make! One was just a regular air force color, while the other looked like this:

Embedded image from another site

The Danish flag! Super patriotic, I know! Anyway, the call sign of this particular jet is E-191. Both jets were super low to the ground. We are talking about 600 metres, or close to that anyway! It's always a fantastic sight to see E-191 in the air. It's being dubbed "The fastest Dannebrog in the World", which is not far from the truth.

Today is the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day. Therefore, the Danish flag is waving from buses and all government buildings. Today also marked the day, where I went to my first real job interview since January 2018! The interview went very well! The job is part time, around 15 hours or so a week, but I have the opportunity to take more shifts, if I want to. Might even do double shifts as well. The job is fairly easy to do: I man the phones and emails, and I have to respond to customer queries about their shopping. It could be something like the items they ordered never arrived, or that some of the items they received were rotten or broken. Emails are also like that. So it's just basic customer service, with no sales. It is exactly the kind of job I am looking for.

I will get a reply on Monday if I have secured the job, but the way the conversation went, I am 99% sure that I am getting it. The conversation was light, full of laughs and extremely positive vibes, so it would really surprise me if I didn't get the job.

We'll see what happens!
