How spoiled is spoiled

Friends and family would agree I live to spoil my dog. Not so much long long ago but every time my dog died, the next one got just a bit more spoiled. The last two dogs, Jujube and Bella never had to eat dog food as I cooked for them. Once I retired I learned how to cook even healthier.

Bella came after Jujube passed and Juju made it to 15. Bella is now 16 and I am watching age ravage her with things like having a super hard time getting up stairs, those back legs aren't what they used to be.

When I went to take my Mom her ice cream I took a small bowl out of the carton for Bella because I don't eat ice cream. Then I did the same when I went to deliver Dad's box of Creme Brulee, I kept one bowl for Bella. I figured I could give her a little bit every night as a treat but last week I had an epiphany - why not give it to her for breakfast too - she is already 16 she can have whatever she damn well pleases.

So far I've learned she loves ice cream way more than baked Salmon as she will polish the ice cream off the Salmon and is done eating. I've never given my dogs raw meat before but since I started buying quailty grass fed, grass finished, organic ground meat I gave a little to Bella which she scarfed up. I will not give her cheap raw beef but now I have to buy the quality meat. Why do I do this? Bella is a tiny dog who does not enjoy eating - so I have to figure out what she will eat and when I see her excited to it -- EUREKA

I'm just grateful I can be as crazy in love with my dog as I want.

Winter

This morning when I got up I felt a little brrr round my nether regions, yes time to wear a dressing gown, but that got me thinking about things to enjoy whilst it turns colder outside.
Dont have to shave my legs as often, I can now wait until they start poking outside my tights and glinting in the Sun.
I don't have to blow dry my hair I can just plait it or stick a hat on.
Don't need to paint my toe nails no one can see them in boots plus no more funny looks at my feet, yes I've no big toe nails so only have four painted nails on each foot.
I can eat real food and stop being a rabbit.
What do you look forward to.

Second work experience week planned, and plans for the weekend.

My first work experience week as a mover was very hard work, but it was also rewarding. I have a new understanding on how to pack a box, and how not to pack one. I have also gotten valuable information on how to pack a truck when I have to move again, because I need to at some point. I hope it's soon, but I don't mind waiting another year.

Regarding the second week of work experience, I acted fast. The same day I was back at school, I had secured an interview with a haulage company called Taarnby Transport. The company is located in the town I grew up in, and it takes me about an hour to get there with public transport. I went there to talk to a guy called Tim, who is the Chairman of the Board and CFO of the company.

The conversation went well, and we had a great talk. We have agreed that I am going to spend week 44 at Taarnby Transport, so I have to make a great effort, and convince them that I am going to be their new apprentice. It was finalized this week by the job consultant at my school.

Speaking of school: I think I am setting a new record in the class: I have never been late or missed a day. I am participating in the classes, and I am one of the few students who seems to have a hang on things. The only thing I need to get a hang on, is the cranes. But soon, I will have more opportunities to really nail the crane stuff. Stowing and lashing is pretty much nailed down, to the point where I am helping the other students. The students who might not be as sharp at these things, which is fine. We are all there to learn, and I know they will nail it at some point. It just takes practice, practice and more practice.

Tomorrow, I am going to see the new Bond film, which I am VERY excited about. I have heard good things about it, so I hope it's as good as they say

Dinner with K. Again.

Yesterday was a lot of fun. Thursday, I asked K if she wanted to go out and get some dinner on Saturday. She was up for that, so we went to a place where they served big American style food. Burgers mainly, but also something called freakshakes. It's a milkshake with some truly insane toppings - like donuts and whipped cream.

Anyway, the food was excellent, and the company was great as well. Not the cheapest meal ever, but not the most expensive one either. The most important thing was the company.

We sat for about 45 minutes eating and talking. We hadn't seen each other in over a month due to our various commitments, so it was nice to get together again for some food. On the drive home, K asked me how I felt about arcades. I told her I loved them, so we went to a place where they had retro arcades! We spent an hour there, playing loads of different games, and it was a ton of fun. When we arrived home, I told her that she could just come by whenever she wanted to. She can spend the night as well, but she lives about 30 seconds from me by car, so it's not going to happen. It would be a different story if we lived in different cities. Maybe in a few years, when I have moved, she can come and spend a night with me. We'll probably watch a bunch of movies, which is gonna be fun!

Tomorrow is another week of fun, and I can't wait!

Seeking a better life.

Long ago, the US had vast lands with few people. So immigrants were welcomed. Some of low education were desired to do the work that few wanted to do. Others were welcomed for the skills they brought to our land...Doctors, machinists, teachers, tradesmen and women of all types.
My dad was an immigrant. He was trained as a metal spinner. Came here with cash, a job and apartment pre-arranged. Worked hard and started his own factory eventually.
Now around the globe developed countries have large populations that have grown over decades and more. But, there are countries that the people who wish to better themselves, get knocked back by criminals, warlords, crooks, dictators, thieves, murderers, radical religious gangs and even just an earth that defies them thriving.
These people often are limited in education and skills. Like locusts, they travel in search of food. Some do have a work ethic and think as in the days of old, wealthy nations have lots to spare and room for them. But, many are looking for a free ride. They are lied to by trafficers to save up money that they could better themselves with to get smuggled to those well off nations. Then figure they will be cared for. Even tho there are natives in those countries who aren't.
We have had influxes of refuges from countries the wealthy fought wars in. Often they were helped because they fought along side with us. They came to these countries, took advantage of the possibilities and worked hard, contributed to those lands and thrived. They made their children realize they now were a citizen of that country and to learn the language and customs and improve themselves more than the parents even did.
I see a situation now where third world countries think all they need to do is head north and find a free ride. People with minimal skills that are suited to their country but of little or no use to the northern lands. They will be the new low wage workers doing the jobs no one wants. Or welfare dependents or homeless.
I see nothing of what the flood of people from the south of the globe are accomplishing. Yet our leaders want to provide for them. I do see what the Afghans are doing in our military camps. They are setting up schools to teach English, organizing, putting together activities for the children and attempting to provide structure to prepare for inclusion to our country.
Now which group should we welcome and which should be turned back?dunno

Farm September

Corn is at dough stage, beans just starting to turn yellow. New batches of kittens...sigh.. Hay is all in. Neighbor brought it in 25 bale loads. Beautiful hay. 40 pound bales or more and only $2 a bale. He always gives me a break. Maybe cause he gets paid right away. And is a friend.
I decided enough with plastic sheeting. Costs me $120 for 20x100. Lasts 3 years and shatters all over. Stupid idiots in environmental brigades. Plastic doesnt rot. So lets make it so UV rots it. Yep. Now farmers have to buy new every few years. And chase bits all over. Then toss in trash so it gets buried OUT of the sun so it never rots. Anyway..I paid the $24 a sheet for corrugated polycarb clear. Made removable panels for the back of the pergola. And a hinged door. I can take them down in summer. Of course Pa Kettle syndrome will hit and yep..ought to do that one of these days.
Woodshed is half full. Winter is supposed to come early and be snowier, colder and polar vortex. NOOOOO!!! blues scold I know winters are easier than when I grew up. But, with old age, seem longer and harder.
I lost my black ewe. No idea why. Hard to tell with sheep. They like to die just because they want to. She was sick one day, down the next and then got pneumonia and dead.Bad part is there are no vets anymore that do farm animals. Just pets. My guy was here so helped drag her out before he left. Tenants son helped me dig a grave and bury her. I swear this hill is a mass grave yard. Have to keep track of empty ground for next graves. Some day a paleontologist will do a dig and wonder WT?confused Hey, its a farm. I feel like I have dug a 100 or more graves in my life. Glad I live on sand. My usual idea is I could go dig a hole in the Sahara and either hit a boulder or tree root! The barnyard is clear of them. But, running out of room.
Two more possums shot. Hen still sitting but question if they will hatch. Too late in the year anyway. Poor chicks run around in cold temps in their BVDs!doh
Tenant was asking where the black walnut trees are. Uh..EVERYWHERE! I went in my "park/lawn" and gathered a bag. Put them in the barn. Have fun! They are tasty. Only issue is get the black husk off..wear gloves or be dyed for days. Then crack. I told him a hydraulic press works. Or put them on train tracks and let train run over them. I never tried that method. Afraid the walnuts would derail the train.laugh See if he wants more.roll eyes

Harris the "most hated VP"

Very similar comment deleted from e's blog;

My comment;

I don't think so.
Indeed, it wasn't too long ago, that Republicans were chanting that they were going to hang Mike Pence.
How easily some get selective memory loss.......

and don't want people to realize the truth. sigh
