December is expensive..

I have had the most expensive month ever - and we're only 5 days into the month.

Last week, I went to the company Christmas party. We took a taxi from work to the local train station. That was DKK 232. We arrived at Copenhagen Central Station, and I bought a pizza slice and a coke. That was DKK 59.50. So far, we're at DKK 291.50, and it's not even 1 pm.

We arrived at our destination a few hours later, and we checked into the hotel. It should be noted, that the trip and the hotel was paid by the employer.

Anyway.. The trip home the following was train to a place called Skanderborg, a replacement bus service from Skanderborg to Fredericia, and then the train from Fredericia to Copenhagen. To which a coworker and I said "Nah, screw that. We'll take the bus home!"

I bought two tickets, but got refunded one of them by my coworker. That ticket was DKK 279 each, which included the ferry. We are now at DKK 570.50. On the way to the bus, I went and bought something to drink. That was DKK 16.5 I then needed something to eat on the ferry. The burger menu I had was DKK 139. New total: DKK 726.

A few hours later, I was home. I had to do some food shopping, which was DKK 284.50. New total: DKK 1010.50.

We're now heading into Sunday. Time for Christmas Present shopping.

The first item was a pair of dolls for my youngest niece. DKK 498 for that. I then had to buy something for my brother, which was DKK 699. Next up was two books for my other niece, which was DKK 340. Finally, I spent DKK 500 on a gift certificate for my sister. The final expense on the Sunday was DKK 97 on some food, bringing my total spend to a mammoth DKK 3144.50, which is $443/£364/€422..

By FAR my most expensive weekend ever, and it really shows just how expensive Christmas can be...

I REALLY hope they like all their gifts..

Back to normal, and some people really need a stern talking to.

Today, the competition was back in action, which meant the regular volume of work was back, which was absolutely fantastic!

However, today was also a day of frustration. Mainly aimed at the people in the office. I had picked a whole cart of things, for the drivers. One of the office people came up to me and took the cart away. I looked at him and went "It's not ready yet. I need to scan the boxes before you can take it.."

He didn't listen. I then sent the 8th grader to scan the boxes, to which one of the guys went "Why is he there?"

When I told him why, he went into the office and gave the person, who took the cart, a "lifted index finger", as we say here. Basically, it means he was given a warning. At least ask me if it's ready to be taken to the drivers.

Some people, I swear.. The same office guy also came out and asked about an item for pickup. I had already picked said item, so I asked him if he had looked on the cart behind him. My tone of voice was one of "Look behind you, you imbecile", which apparently is the only way they need to be talked to in order to actually figure things out.

I love my job and the people there, but sometimes they really don't think for themselves. It's like they have to have things spelled out for them.

Anyway. I'm so happy that the competition is up and running again. Hopefully tomorrow's gonna be even quieter!

What are people the most scared of, to divulge?

We all have life experience depending on our age, while some learn no common sense, and fall out of the bus time and again.
After a certain age, you are pretty well informed about people and life in general. The question now is can you apply this knowledge?
What is the most private to you? Will you ever tell a living soul? Not even your pet...
Now think out of the box and answer the question for your closest friend / relative, no names please?
Privacy remains...

New rule! I know, another one.. Hear me out!

During my time online, and in the real world, I often hear people say "we" when it comes to sports. Example: "We lost today, because we were bad"..

No.. "we" weren't bad - the team was bad. You cannot say "we" unless you are on the squad or a part of the team in some way. I'm not talking about being a member of a fan club - I'm talking about being a member of the ACTUAL team. Like a coach, or a share holder.

"But Philipsen, some clubs allows fans to have a participation in the club. Shouldn't they be allowed to say "we" about the team?", I hear you ask..

It depends on how much you participate in the team. If you are on the board of directors, then yes. If you give input on fan forums, then no..

It is just me that feels this way?

Did the wool bear tell the truth?

I know. Old folk tales. But, every fall I find a woolly bear, pick him up to check and say "woolly bear woolly bear, tell me no lies". Their color bands, I think are set in a certain pattern. But, hope spring eternal. OK..butt is black, head is black and center is big brown. So, hard on start and end and mild in middle?confused dunno roll eyes
Yet it seems to be truth. We went here from 70, above highs to 9 the other night. Snow is on the ground, wind howling and cold. Turkey day is said to be 40 and then above average.
The geese are still on the river. And then the cranes came in for the night so they are still here. I figure when they haul out, we are doomed. So far, so good.
If a whole flock landed and I tied strings to each ones foot, could they haul me up and take me south with them? But, I think they only go a bit south and then land in a lake so that wont work.
I have the wood furnace up and running. My system is I walk out the kitchen door into a sun enclosure. Down the steps into another one/arbor. That goes into another continuous arbor and onto the wood shed. The furnace is in the front of that continuous run. It ducks air into the basement through windows. So it and the wood and me are always under cover. Next to the furnace is a bench with rugs. Underneath is a wood box my guy built for the cats. Next to it a cardboard box with end opening. I average 10 to 15 cats give or take. Some are pets, some half feral and one a complete feral IDIOT! I feed them all in pans in the arbor at the bottom of the stairs. They all pile on top of the wood furnace. The colder it gets, the more they huddle. I laugh when I see browned fur on someone. Or even guard hairs gone. Uh...guess you got the closest to the chimney pipe. Didn't you notice just maybe..you were getting a bit warm on one side?laugh roll eyes dunno
I do let a few inside to eat tinned food sometimes. And the old ma who is the start of this all. Steamboat. She is around 7. She is in right now. LET ME IN! And where is she?confused Yep..on my bed.grin
I have a 5 gallon pail with 4 pepper plants in. I started them in the sun enclosure. Now carry the pail in and out. Guess they need to deal with in for the week. And of course, just starting to bloom. See if they fade away or can make it. Be nice. Bit dark in the dining room. As soon as sun enclosure is 40 and sunny, will set them out as much as I can. Peppers prefer cool.

I Don't Get It..

I simply don't.

You see, once upon a time I posted a blog about my roof leakage. Some male bloggers commented and told me how to fix it. Not surprising, eh? because fixing stuff like that is mostly a man's job. I thanked them all.

Later on, I started to chat privately with one of those commenters. He was ok, till he and I had disagreement. Then he mentioned how he came to my aid when I had the leaking roof.

I was like .. WTH..?! devil
Why on earth he thought that what he said on my blog was such a big help as if it saved my life? And guess what? I didn't even do what he said about fixing the leakage.

I didn't get it, never do and never will..!

To me anyone mentioning, especially publicly, the help or the rescue (or whatever it's called) they did, wouldn't be the one whom I want to be friends with. Such attitude is a Red Flag! professor
