BadlyDrawn

I too...have been a victim

I don't like to talk about it much and prefer to suffer in silence...plus, there's like a 4 month waiting list for therapists in LA!

Yes, I've been victimized by the bad man. Just thinking about it....I'm fighting back tears as I type. So many nights...tossing and tossing....then I'd go to bed.

I've had my CS profile pic used for someone's sick form of amusement, but did I learn from it. No! I'm so rattled that I took and posted a whole new pic just days ago...as though I were just ASKING for more abuse! Just asking for it, I say!

I don't know what to do, so I laugh about it. See how warped I am now...I'm laughing at myself! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm an emotional wreck (have been since about 13).

Where's the humanity?!

The BEST US presidents in history.

Far too much attention is given to the worst US president of all time (Trump).
That's somewhat understandable, as he is the current problem and seems to screw
up at least once per day.
However, with president's day recently passing,
lets instead pay favorable tribute to the top 20 US presidents of all time.

Sure, you may have your personal favorites, and that's OK.
Perhaps you like something about someone else.
However, neither one of us are as qualified in this field,
as the people who make the judgements for the official list.

Thus, when it comes to actually getting positive things done as a great leader,
here are truly the top 20 as determined by the most qualified presidential historians.
Don't get me wrong, no president is perfect. They each have some flaws.
That's part of being human. Regardless, here's the absolute best so far.
Hopefully the next one will join them.

The day I almost joined the Boy Scouts

I was about 11 or so. My 2.5 year older brother was a Boy Scout and kept pestering me to join and he took me to one of their hour long meetings one night. There were about 20 scouts and a Scoutmaster. The Scoutmaster had about 5-6 kids standing in a row in front of the group. One by one he would ask them a question or to recite the scout oath. If a kid gave the wrong answer or couldn't correctly recite the oath, the Scoutmaster would tell the kid "Assume The Angle" and the kid would bend over and the Scoutmaster would swat him on the butt with a yardstick. This went on for as long as me and my brother were there. Needless to say I never joined. I thought, if this is what it is to be a Boy Scout, I want no part of it.

I never forgot that night. Looking back from today, as a grownup, I have no doubt that Scoutmaster was a sadist and potential child abuser. It's ironic how times have changed from the 50's. Back then, if a kid told his mom or dad what went on at that Scout meeting they would probably have said well, you probably deserved it. Kids back then knew this which is why they never told their parents about events like this. They thought it is best not to say anything because if they did, they might get a beating or other additional punishment. Those were the "Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child" days.

Today is Monday February 17 it is George Washington's Birthday

This movie has done nothing less than transformed a cliche "Washington Crossing the Delaware" into a masterpiece. Casting Jeff Daniels as George Washington was a stroke of genius.

Be prepared for anything, anytime ...

The most important lesson I think I learned from my life as a young child was as the name says "be prepared for anything, anytime" ... what does that mean ...?! For those who do not know I will explain in more detail. This refers to the training of the soul but also of the mind, the mind and the soul are not the same thing, but they can be powerful tools if used properly. In order to be ready for anything you have to put in your mind this "anything can happen anytime" and then keep that in your soul, so anything hard, weird, crazy, cool or like what will happen from life will not have too strong an impact on you, because your soul and mind were prepared, they were expecting ... anything can happen at any time. A friend can surprise you pleasantly, or he can betray you ..... you can win the lotto (example) or you can go bankrupt without waiting when the world is dearer, a meteorite may fall over you (low chances) or a miracle can happen to you, how unexpectedly it can be just "around the corner" and the examples can continue .... so this is a lesson I will share with you in the hope that you have understood and that she will be useful to you (the truth is that lately I forgot this lesson, I shook my mind and my soul and that didn't get me well) in the end I wish all God to have you safe

Eponym

There are so many of these words deriving from certain people and places one would think it takes up half the english language.

Examples.
Like calling someone a casanova – a man who preys on women or “promiscuous man,” actually comes from Giacomo Jacopo Girolamo Casanova de Seignalt (1725-98), an Italian adventurer who wrote a memoir in which he bragged about his lady conquests.

Chauvinism – The belief in the superiority of one’s own gender, group, or kind, comes from Nicholas Chauvin, soldier in Napoleon’s Army.

C-section (short for Caesarian Section) – medical procedure when a child is delivered by being cut from the mother’s womb. Word has it that Julius Caesar was so born.

Just some food for thought.professor

Can Someone Find me with my IP Address?

Just a copy and paste but interesting.

When you connect to the internet through your Internet Service Provider(ISP) you are assigned an IP address. Your IP address is similar to your mailing address, but for your computer, on the internet. While this address is used to route internet traffic to your computer it does not reveal your location. If someone was able to get your IP address they could learn a bit about your internet service, such as which provider you use to connect to the internet, but they really can't locate you, your home, or your office. In some circumstances they may locate the city you are in, or perhaps a nearby city, but they will not have your physical address. Once they trace you back to your ISP they will lose your trail. While strangers may not be able to find you, your ISP knows where you are. ISPs will generally go to great lengths to protect you and your privacy but they do keep logs of your connections.
There is one big exception to being found. If you were to participate in illegal activities then a law enforcement agency can get a court order and submit it to your ISP to request your information. This is one way you can be found.

In the end, the simple answer is no. If someone was to get your IP address they can not find you. There are other ways you can be located but this isn't one of them. You're more likely to be tracked by posting your name and town online via social media than by your IP address

Hope you have a great Sunday.

True love ...

The human soul is like a land full of fertilizers, and love is like a tree ... once planted the seed, if you feed it in time it grows, and it grows, and will take root ever deeper ... but this tree called love how you take care of it so it will look like ... if from time to time you break a branch then in time it will have traces in the areas where the branches were removed ... if from time to time you give the ax in it. .. in time it will have scars ... if you cut it and then try to tie it in place ... it will only catch if you know what you are doing and even so it will not be the same as in the beginning .... if, however, you decide to crush it ... it will leave a deep and ugly hole in the earth called Soul ... and that hole, it will not stop easily because the rains are few and there is no one to beat the earth. ... so you take care of either your soil or the tree or both

Slow Internet....

My service provider let me know that there are 2 cables giving problem and thats why the net will be extra slow until repaired.
Just wondering if anyone else was/is effected by these cable problems?

Embedded image from another site

Submarine Cable Map. Source: TeleGeography, a telecommunications market research and consulting firm.

South African internet speeds have been hit by breakdowns in the two undersea cables that connect the local internet with the world.
Separate failures near Congo and Gabon have been reported, and now there's a new problem: off the coast of the UK.
It remains unclear when the cables will be back online.

Hope everyone is having a great day/night.cheers
