A fair useful summary of the Mueller Report

Robert Mueller is set to testify before both arms of Congress tomorrow (Wednesday 7/24/2019) in 2 separate meetings, first with the House of Representatives
and later with the Senate.

While his over 400 page report may be too much information for most
people to comprehend, here is a very fair and useful summary of the report
put together by PBS to help you better understand that report.

If you would like to be fairly well informed about the report, rather than being overwhelmed with rhetoric from others who want to believe lies, it would be prudent of
you to watch & listen to this good, useful, less than 1/2 hour video.
Please do so BEFORE you comment on this blog.

All comments that are off-topic (not about the video), or personally attack other commenters scold WILL likely be deleted at my earliest convenience. tongue

Thank you & have a wonderful day. head banger

With no further ado, here is that video;

The Ladybird Book of Mr. Good

Mr. Good is a very nice man who lives at 6 Paradise Street.

Mr. Good bought 6 Paradise Street a long time ago.

Houses cost a lot of money and Mr. Good had to get a mortgage before he could buy his house.

You can’t see a mortgage but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Ask a grownup about philosophy if you want to know more about things that aren’t there.

If you forget about your mortgage just because you can’t see it, you will get into a lot of trouble.

Mr. Good remembers about his mortgage once a month so he never gets into trouble.

People who forget about their mortgage can sometimes go for a long time without thinking about it and get very upset when they have to remember it again.

Mr. Lord works in a bank and his job is to remind people about their mortgages when they have forgotten about them.

If people don’t take any notice of Mr. Lord after he has reminded them about their mortgages, that is when they get into a lot of trouble.

People who keep forgetting about their mortgages make Mr. Lord very cross when they won’t take any notice of him.

When Mr. Lord gets really cross he makes people move out of their houses and they have to sleep under railway bridges.

Ask a grownup to take you to see some down and outs if you want to see what living under a railway bridge is like.

Mr. Lord uses the law to make people move out of their houses, and the law is another thing you must not forget about just because you can’t see it.

Mr. Good will never have to sleep under a railway bridge because he always remembers about his mortgage and the law.

On Sunday Mr. Good goes to church.

Church is where Mr. Good sits on a hard seat and thinks about God.

Do you go to church?

God is more important than a mortgage so you have to remember about him four times a month.

Some people even remember about God everyday and like to remind everyone else about him.

There are lots of different names for people who like to remind everyone about God but you have to wait until you are a grown up before you are allowed to say them.

God is a bit like Mr. Lord, a mortgage and the law all rolled into one, except that you can see Mr. Lord.

Ask a grownup about the Trinity if you want to know about God being three things at the same time.

Forgetting about God can get you into even more trouble than forgetting about your mortgage so some people leave a Bible on the table to remind them about God every time they see it.

A Bible is a very thick book all about God and you must never use it to hold a door open.

You won’t have to move out of your house if you forget about God but you won’t be able to live in Heaven afterwards if you do.

Heaven is where the people who remember to think about God go when they have finished being alive.

It is very nice in Heaven and everyone who lives there is happy forever.

If you are not allowed to go to Heaven you will have to go to another place called Hell, and that’s even worse than sleeping under a railway bridge.

No one likes being in Hell because that’s where a very cross monster called the Devil lives.

The Devil doesn’t like happy people so he sets them on fire to make sure they will be very sad forever.

Ask a grownup to find you a Youtube video of a man on fire if you want to see what it looks like.

Mr. Good will live in heaven when he has finished being alive because he always remembers to think about God.

Perhaps you could live next door to Mr. Good in Heaven when you have finished being alive if you always remember to think about God.

Do you think that would be nicer than being set on fire by the Devil?

Russia!

Ah, Russia. The country that has given us SO much laughter, amazement and rage.

This is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and North Asia, that is widely considered to be the largest country in the World, measuring a WHOPPING 6,612,073 square miles. The population of Russia is 146,793,744 people, making it the 9th most populous country in the World. The President is Vladimir Putin.

The official currency is Rubles, which is not worth a lot. 1 Ruble is 16 US cents, so if you want to invest in property, there's your shot!

Russia is a PAINFULLY beautiful country, once you get out into the countryside. I mean, look at this!

This is the Sayan Mountains, in the southern part of Russia

Besides breathtaking beauty, Russia is also known for this:

YouTube is packed with stuff like this! I once asked my old co-worker Ivan (that was his real name, by the way) from Russia, why they drive like that. He told me, that Russian people are very proud, so nobody can tell them anything or make them do anything. If a Russian wants to drive through the gap 3 inches too small for his car, he's gonna drive through it, dammit!

It might also have something to do with driving schools being corrupt. There are driving rules in Russia, but they are being ignored - spectacularly.

Now, being that we are talking about Russia, we HAVE to talk about the elephant in the room - alcohol!

You see, Russia has some of the cheapest alcohol you can buy. 0.5 liters of quality vodka is $3.01 The government raised the prices three years ago. Back then, the same bottle of vodka would cost you $2.8.. So, they have raised the price by 31 cents. For a bottle of vodka. No wonder they drive like in the video above.

I know, alcohol might not be the only factor in the bad driving. They could also just be, you know, bad drivers. Every country has them, even the US and Denmark. I have seen plenty of dash cam footage from both Denmark and USA to know, that bad drivers exist everywhere. The reason, why we see so many from Russia, is because that Russian drivers were the first to install dash cams, because of the many false injury claims that people put forward.

Of course, this post isn't just going to praise Russia. It's also going to be a bit critical. So let's begin with that, shall we?

Russia has had some bad examples when it comes to treatment of people. They are notorious for running gulags, which was the government agency in charge of the Soviet forced-labour camp-system that was set up under Vladimir Lenin and reached its peak during Joseph Stalin's rule from the 1930s to the early 1950s. Gulag is actually an acronym: Glavnoye Upravleniye Lagerei, which translates to Chief Administration of Corrective Labor Camps. The gulags were brutal! If you want to read about them, click this link here, but I warn you: It's strong stuff, man!

I have never been to Russia, but some of my family has. They thought it was interesting, but they would never want to go back.

So there we have it - some info about Russia! Have you ever been to Russia?

The world is flat, not the earth, the earth is round

It's a misunderstanding of words well one word, and I will explain how that works.
Take a ream of A4 paper and a 5 pointed cake star cutter with a very sharp edge. Place the ream of A4 on a flat surface like a bench. Use the cake star cutter and start cutting through about 100 pieces or more or less, if you wish to actually use the paper for future use, somewhere inside the A4 area. Remove both the cake cutter and the inside stars made from the A4 and you will be left with the shape of a 5 star hole that is now 3D and u take the top piece of paper in your hands you have a 5 star hole that is no longer 3D, because it is separate and clearly flat, without being part of the 100 pieces of paper cut into a 5 star in the EXACT same spot you will never get the 3D illusion.

Now imagine the A4 paper and the cut 5-star hole being lifesize and you walking through each piece of paper, it would give you the feeling of you being in a 3D world

Now take this concept and use it on a lifesize scale, of say the street you travel every day without a single thought, and think how many holes required to cut blades of grass in a square metre. Or the ants that live within the blades of grass. There is so much detail in these interactive holes that you are so distracted, from the fact all it is one single picture of many fine cut holes layered over another which gives the perception of movement.

So my point is the world is but a single layered highly detailed picture of holes that we pass giving us the deception of us travelling, interaction and depth on a highly complex level. The sense of hot/cold rough/smooth are all defined by the rules within this world. Which helps make the world we see convince us for it to be real.

I hope this helps explain the world is flat concept if not ask questions. I will answer as best I can

Happy Birthday to the oldest flag in the World!

Let me take you back 800 years, to the Battle of Lyndanisse, which took place during the Livonian Crusade.

Denmark, with some German allies were at war with Estonian tribes. The battle was fought in what we now know as Estonia, but what was the battle about?

Valdemar II, along with Archbishop Anders Sunesen of Lund, Bishop Theoderich von Treyden, and his vassals Count Albert of Nordalbingia and Witslaw I of Rügen, sailed to the northern Estonian province of Revalia at the beginning of June 1219. The crusading army camped at Lindanise and built a castle there, named Castrum Danorum, which the Estonians called Taani-linn (later Tallinn), meaning Danish castle. The Estonians sent several negotiators, but they were only playing for time as they assembled an army large enough to fight the Danes.

On 15 June 1219, the Estonians attacked the Danes near the castle, right after suppertime. They advanced from five different directions and completely surprised the crusaders, who fled in all directions. Bishop Theoderich von Treyden was killed by the Estonians, who thought he was the king. The Danes were saved by their Wendish vassals, as Witslaw led a quick counterattack which stopped the Estonian advance. This gave the crusaders time to regroup, and the Estonians were routed.

The proud Danes were outnumbered, and about to lose the war, when the Heavens opened. Tradition has maintained that the Danish flag appeared at the Battle of Lyndanisse on 15 June 1219. Legend holds that during the battle, in the Danes' hour of need, the Dannebrog fell from the sky and gave them renewed hope. As the Estonians attacked the Danish stronghold, the Danes were hard pressed. Anders Sunesen, the Archbishop of Lund, raised his hands to the sky in prayer, and the defenders held tight as long as his hands were raised. As Archbishop Sunesen became exhausted, he eventually had to lower his arms, and the Estonians were on the verge of victory. Then, a red flag with a white cross fell from the sky, and gave the Danes the victory.

This account builds on two different versions from the early 16th century, both based on an even older source. According to legend, Denmark received its national flag, the Dannebrog, during the battle. This legend is mentioned in the last three books (14-16) of the Gesta Danorum, which describe Danish conquests on the south shore of the Baltic Sea and the Northern Crusades. An edition of the Gesta Danorum was edited by Danish priest Christiern Pedersen, and published by Jodocus Badius on 15 March 1514.

This older source set the emergence of Dannebrog as a battle in Livonia in 1208. But the Franciscan friar Peder Olsen (c. 1527) rectified the year as 1219. The legend became affixed to the Battle of Lindanisse. The legend of Dannebrog as originating in the Northern Crusades holds true, as the red flag with a white cross originated as a crusader symbol.

So, here's to you, you old flag! You are waving proudly in the wind everywhere. I love you, and you are a symbol of something far greater than anything ever!

All salute the flag!

The Blue And The Gray

The U.S. Civil War ended in Spring, 1865.

In Spring of 1866, the ladies of Columbus, Mississippi decorated the graves of fallen Confederate soldiers. They also decorated the graves of fallen Union soldiers, and sent condolences to to their families.
The Southern ladies were chastised for so honoring the dead of the hated Yankee foe.

However, moved by what the ladies had done, Francis Miles Finch penned a poem paying tribute to their actions.
In the spirit of those Southern ladies, perhaps it would be well to remember on this U.S. Memorial Day, the fallen of all wars...and all sides.

Herewith, The Blue And The Gray, Francis Miles Finch...

Paper People...

It's been referenced on CS and other places that those of us who grew up using a pencil and paper have a higher rate to remember/retain things we've read on paper than on a computer screen, cellphone or tablet.

If I receive an email with a list of customer requests, it's faster to print it and monitor what needs to be done on paper instead or doing it electronically.

We (the company I'm working for) tried to convert all our schedules and service notes to computer via apps that use 'cloud based' storage including one where the field technicians upload reports to a service monitoring system and any of us in the office can read & respond.
I'll say it's good that nothing gets lost as far as tracking and scheduling, but all of us who have multiple items on a list prefer to print the list and make notes that are too time consuming to attempt electronically.

Part of my job is to review shop drawings that are created electronically. I'm 50/50 doing it on a screen versus paper... however, if I want to retain information about a job, I'll print a copy and review it.

That would make me a Paper Person...

Thanks for reading my blog!
