Another brick in the wall
Imagine .... 
going to school in a class with a maximum of 20 pupils, no streaming, and the same teacher for 5 years. There are teacher aides to help with slower and disabled pupils.
Imagine 15 minute breaks between every class, but not to allow for last-minute cramming for tests – because there are no tests. No exams (well, one, when you’re 16). No homework. 4 hours of actual studying a day, then you're done, although nothing to stop you researching something that interests you.
Education is free – all the way up to final university qualifications. There’s gentle emphasis on continuing part-time studies for life.
Attendance is obligatory from 7 to 16. At 16, you choose whether to stay with conventional education, or switch to a vocational school. That one exam, at 16, is your university entrance if you pass but you can take it again at any age and at any time, including from a vocational school (or get equivalent qualifications from your vocational school).
One exam in your whole school life. No forced homework. No performance stress. The entire education is based on guiding, not controlling, your learning.
Crazy? Many thought so when Finland completely revamped its school system 40 years ago and yet it has been successful from the start. In the latest PISA (international rankings) Finland, Estonia, Canada and Ireland are the only non-Asian nations to get into any of the top five rankings across all three subjects, Science, Reading and Maths. (Singapore did come out on top of all three.) (I put rankings in the first comment)
Chinese students work harder than any I have ever met, and today the topic in the extended class was the Finnish system. You could feel the tension! Hell, even in my time we had a 6 hour school day with 2 breaks (recesses) in that time, and then carted home an hour’s worth of homework. We had weekly tests, pop tests, exams every term to check progress and the exams which determined whether we passed or failed every year, it was brutal even then but a holiday compared to what the average kids face now – and for nothing?

Mr. Trump was propelled to the presidency, in part, by a self-spun narrative of business success and of setbacks triumphantly overcome. He has attributed his first run of reversals and bankruptcies to the recession that took hold in 1990. But 10 years of tax information obtained by The New York Times paints a different, and far bleaker, picture of his deal-making abilities and financial condition.
The data — printouts from Mr. Trump’s official Internal Revenue Service tax transcripts, with the figures from his federal tax form, the 1040, for the years 1985 to 1994 — represents the fullest and most detailed look to date at the president’s taxes, information he has kept from public view. Though the information does not cover the tax years at the center of an escalating battle between the Trump administration and Congress, it traces the most tumultuous chapter in a long business career — an era of fevered acquisition and spectacular collapse.
The numbers show that in 1985, Mr. Trump reported losses of $46.1 million from his core businesses — largely casinos, hotels and retail space in apartment buildings. They continued to lose money every year, totaling $1.17 billion in losses for the decade.
In fact, year after year, Mr. Trump appears to have lost more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer, The Times found when it compared his results with detailed information the I.R.S. compiles on an annual sampling of high-income earners. His core business losses in 1990 and 1991 — more than $250 million each year — were more than double those of the nearest taxpayers in the I.R.S. information for those years.
Over all, Mr. Trump lost so much money that he was able to avoid paying income taxes for eight of the 10 years. It is not known whether the I.R.S. later required changes after audits.
Since the 2016 presidential campaign, journalists at The Times and elsewhere have been trying to piece together Mr. Trump’s complex and concealed finances. While The Times did not obtain the president’s actual tax returns, it received the information contained in the returns from someone who had legal access to it. The Times was then able to find matching results in the I.R.S. information on top earners — a publicly available database that each year comprises a one-third sampling of those taxpayers, with identifying details removed. It also confirmed significant findings using other public documents, along with confidential Trump family tax and financial records from the newspaper’s 2018 investigation into the origin of the president’s wealth.
The White House’s response to the new findings has shifted over time.

I've been a person that was never able to swear. I was taught I shouldn't. After reading Molly the other day on Palms blog I realized how common the F-word had become to me.
This is a warning I'm about to use the F-word alot. Read no further if this offensive to you.
If you gave a f*ck at all about the fu cking amazing English language, you would stop fu cking around and study the word fu ck.
When your friends start fu cking with you just tell them to shut the fu ck up and to go fu ck themselves, because you need to fu cking study.
Don’t be a f*ck up. Instead of getting fu cked up at bars like a dumbfu ck trying to f*ck another alcoholic f*ck, be a cheapfu ck and stay at home and learn to use the word f*ck. So when someone asks you, “What the f*ck does that mean?” You don’t have to answer, “I don’t fuc king know.”

Who should I hate today?
Whether it's the media, politicians, or self-interested shills, there always seems to be someone trying to influence my opinion and to persuade me to choose their 'side'.
Everywhere I turn there's someone trying to tell me what is good and what is bad, or worse, who I should hate. One has to be careful though because sometimes those people are dishonest, and have slimy, dark agendas. You know who you are ...
Anyway, when it comes to being genuine, who could I trust more than a dog? Yes, a dog! No apparent agenda aside from the occasional con for a doggie treat, I can rely on a dog to objectively point out good and evil and to steer my disdain in the proper direction.
So far and by following the dog's intuition, I've learned that pigeons and mourning doves are intolerable and that I can't trust people on bicycles or skateboards. When it comes to real contempt though, no one is more deserving than the gardeners with leaf-blowers and weed whackers.
But when it comes to unadulterated hate and where to focus blind rage, there's no clearer target than the mailman!

Graduating from CS school
CS really is like a school - all the way from kindergarten to graduation. Okay, an odd one. We have no idea how long we will be here, that first day - a month? Ten years? It takes a while to realize there are no teachers, then even longer to realize we are all teachers. 
Some do individual tutoring
