So they are upping the fees for students in england, what about all the tuition in the prisons, will they actually be made to pay now or will they just go out and rob someone else to pay for them when they leave on early release.

I'm suprised Englands royals seem to have so little protection.
I was under the impression bullet proof glass cant be broken.
Its sad the students are having to pay more for tuition but all the money damage in the streets the tax payers are probably going to have to pay for it..

Medsummer: Not to sound negative, but I think the UK's problems will only get worse due to being an island with finite room and a population that is not finite. A lot of these students are going to school with no hope in their eyes of finding employment when they finish school. Being the the UK is an expensive place to be in the first place, their prospects for the future do not look good and they know it.
I agree, and believe that with this government and other changes they are planning this is just the start and the tip of the Iceberg.

The royals have a lot of protection, but on many occasions, they choose not to go overboard with it,so as to appear more relaxed with the people.
Bullet proof glass can be broken. It is designed to stop a snipers bullet,or a close range attack. Its construction is differant, the same as a bullet proof vest, will not stop a knife.bouquet teddybear

There is a large anarchist element infiltrating these student demonstrations, they are coming prepared for violence, unlike the real students that are involved.

Many students voted for the Lib/Dems who promised in their manifesto NOT to increase student fees. The lib/dems have gone back on their word in order to get into coalition government with the conservatives. They are liers and won't be getting any future votes from the young. Very short sighted IMO but hey, they got into power, job done !

To jeopardize the education of our students is a crime IMO, with China producing 4 million graduates a year we have to compete more, not less !

As for the Royal car being attacked, why it was allowed in that area beggars belief. More incompetence basically .....doh

I for one do not mind paying for a persons education up to the age of 16.I still pay taxes in the uk,without recieving any benifits, but i look at it that i am paying back for things such as my education ect.
However,no one has a right to further education. Many go onto university to do degrees that to put plainly, are no use nor ornament, and they certainly have no chance of getting a job with such a degree. Many even have no intention of pursuing a job in the field they have studied for. There are those that take a year off to travel.Great,i bet many hard working people would like to do the same.
The universities are flooded with overseas students getting handouts. Why should i pay for them?
What is wrong with working and studying,as so many in the past have done?
Degrees in mathmatics, the sciences ect are important, but many are meaningless.
Shouldnt money be put into companies to help get the apprentaship system back on line instead?
Nothing in life is free, and sometimes sacrifices have to be made at the beginning to reap the benifits at the end.
A person buys a van to start a business,do they get help? No,they have to pay it back over years. So why cant a student pay something back over the 40yrs they will be working?
Right,have a moan now,said my bit,and i dont care!

I watched live coverage on Sky for 6 hours yesterday. The rioters, including those in Oxford Street which is about 2 or 3 miles away from Parliament were not rioting because of student fee rises but more against the 'establishment,' including rioting at the clothes store in Oxford Street - near where Charles and Camilla were - because the Top Shop and associated shops empire is able to evade (legally) millions of pounds of tax.

All sorts of groups were there, not just students. It is the yob culture of the UK in its worst possible form. Why would students want to graffitti the statue of Winston Churchill. These were yobs and the UK police were amazing in their handling and restraint. However there was a serious lapse of the Government vote date of Uni rises and the heir to the throne attending an event in the area on the same date. The date of the Government vote should have not coincided with Charles's attendance at an engagement. It was obvious with the protests by students in recent weeks that there would be another protest and possibly riot on the day of the vote, and the Top Shop group is a target for possible protests etc.
