grizzwald: Some have built wealth in other ways than in money ....
How much of life did someone lose by being successful.....how much success was lost for living life? Many self made rich may look at people as lazy, ect. ....but that is not always true....they simply value other wealths over money is all....

Who is to say which is better.....I feel mine is ...as I am sure others think theirs is..

As regards educational snobbery, well, that is something that I dislike. Many people in the world, and a few I know, have high IQs, are extremely intelligent but due to life events were not able to go to get a degree or decided that they had higher priorities, like looking after kids.

Does that make them lesser educational beings, because they dont have a piece of paper? Of course not.

I don't understand people who have no motivation to go to school. My neighbor, pregnant with 4 other kids at home got a nursing degree - she was married - I see single moms get degrees all the time - ya it takes some effort - that is true

but it doesn't define you as a good or bad person - just reveals some of a person's priorities

Yes,social snobery is alive and well. Its always been around, probably always will be.I am middle class, bottom of the top,top of the bottom.I respect those with an "Education" but I don't worship them as some kind of demi-god.
Our nation's capital and our state capitals are crammed packed with learn-ed men from prestigious institutions. The academic prowess of these ladies and gentlemen has done little to solve our woes.
There other side of the coin is this: We have young people who can't read their own High School Diplomas. How did this happen?
Its a tough road to hoe for those of us in stuck in the middle.

Because it is not a motivation ....but a choice ....not everyone values a degree as the get all end all....

I know many people who had plenty of motivation to go to school. However, some simply could not, due to other restraints.

I totally understand what you are saying, and there are plenty around I am sure who are simply too damn lazy. There are also those who have worked very hard to build successful businesses who dont have a extensive On-Paper education.

I think it is hard to judge anyone without really knowing them.

I am not saying it is a bad thing ....only that it is not the path many CHOOSE to take ....not because they are lazy or unmotivated ....but simply they want to pursue THEIR dream ....

History is riddled with uneducated yet very successful people...

and success is relative....What one sees a success ...others see as silly.....

Genius abounds in us all no matter how small the achievements are.
