not at all offended - my feeling about these threads in general is that we all are adults who have during our lives a variety of experiences - unique to each- wherefrom we form our opinions. and that we are entitled to the dignity of owning and expressing our opinions in an atmosphere of respect.

(accompanied by the usual joking around on here)

I think you & I both simply did not wish to be misunderstood. pretty much that simple...teddybear peace

I agree. In all counts.

Making yourself misunderstood on here is all too easy, especially when some posters make an occupation of deliberately misunderstanding.

I just wanted to make a point of apologising, because I am aware I am tired and therefore somewhat edgy. I respect everyone's opinions, regardless of who they are and whether I agree with them. Just do it with respect, is all I ever ask, and expect.

Today I have two straight days off, so am going to rest, eat, drink and be merry.yay grin

Of course in England there are more clearly defined class distinctions, although they are marring a bit.
But on CS the only snobbery I have seen is of the inverse type.

Hmm, well, that is subjective.

I remember a thread I started many moons ago about the Class System, and it was denied that there is one anymore.

I personally think there is, but again, its subjective.

On the contrary it's quite overt in some social circles, and the ditinction between the upper class and the working class are still quite well defined.

As I said, its subjective, Tom.

If I could bring up the thread I did before regarding the class system, you would see that others have different views.

I don't think I saw that thread BO but I will agree with you that there used to be three classes...lower class meaning poor; medium class and rich.

But with the recession I think now it's lower class and rich.

I don't like using the word "lower" cause it has a negative connotation. The way I'm using it is low income..

Well, according to the most recent stats Ive seen regarding income etc, we are "classed" as Lower Middle Class. Whatever the Heck that is..

LONDON, Nov. 21. -- Class distinction is such a recognized fact in England and so obvious in its results that few dispute it. The paradox that there is no class hatred is due to the pride one takes in one's own class, while the courtesy bestowed by the "lowest" on the "highest," by servants on masters, is accepted as an inheritance.
