Had a lousy day today, had to get a plumber out to unblock my drains, think I might have tree roots at the front of the house that are creeping into the pipes? Tried to unblock it by shoving the hose on full blast in the inpection pipe at the back of the house, it has worked before, but not this time. blues

On top of that the 2 month old $600 Samsung washing machine is leaking!! devil devil devil

Been on the phone to 'Mumbai' or somewhere, they are sending a techinician out Monday to make a service call and have a look. frustrated

So I am having chronic plumbing problems at the moment. crying crying crying

Some people have kindly reminded me that 'these things run in 3's" - great very mad so now I just have to wait for the roof to blow off or something??

Oh well could be worse I guess? Couldn't it?? drinking drinking drinking

Feel better now I got that off my chest laugh

I have a top loader bought from a garage sale (after the ex took all her stuff and most of mine...including fairly new washer) and have never had a problem over the last 6 years. Sometimes "old is good."

Awwh Newlife... sometimes we get really frustrating days like you have had... wishing you all the best...

I had really bad trouble with tree roots years ago... in the end, I moved out for a week, and had them all replaced with the plastic jobs they put in now days.. and all the clay stuff was trashed... I remember that the drains would block the min I had a visitor over... frustrated

It made me sooo mad...

sorry about your washer too... I hope you get it sorted... bouquet

I have met many women who know how to do the uselful things around the home such as change washers, put up pictures, rehang hinges, paint, even how to check the oil and water in the car. I have also so a fair few that have just said "That's manwork, I am not going to do that"

a good plumber would turn up with a cutter device he sends down the pipe, the cutter cuts the roots back inside the pipe; last few years before u need to get him/her back

Rob the plumbers I have used lately are just out to bump up their bottom line, probably doesn't help being a single woman and not knowing one end of an electric eel from the other wow but they give you a load of BS, start going on about putting cameras down the pipes etc.

This is all getting a bit sordid now, electric eels, cameras down pipes laugh laugh laugh

the plumber that wanted to send a camera down the pipe offered the right service, they have cameras so they can see what's happening, cause sorting blocked pipes can cost lot to replace, but if the pipe is broken or has roots blocking it. They can make the right decision in first place, the camera tells them what is actually occurring...
and yes they would charge for that

otherwise rather than trying to do the job yourself, if you visit the higher pool and see if they will tell you the name of a plumber who normally hires the cutter off them

I love Mondays! six off them are public holidays each year if you take a look at it the other three holidays are good Friday Christmas and boxing day, and I get paid if I am not rostered on or if I am rostered off, ok if its my RDO I get paid 9 ½ hours, if I am rostered off I get paid 19 hours for the day, if I have too work the day I get 23 ½ hours pay for the day, and when you get one RDO per week, today being that day, that’s two days working a day off and then two days at work before the weekend, but I have to go to the doctors tomorrow so I have Thursday off too! So these three day weeks are just murder, and yes my job is fun,
grin cheers
