Kaybee50: FINAL EVENT - Day 23 Your last night in Sochi. With the games behind you, this is your evening to relax and unwind from the strenuous events of the first ever CS Olympics. Your battered and bruised and having nightmares of skating cows in ripped tutus. How to regain your sanity?

A Russian sauna.

You sweat away your aches and pains, then run outside and jump into the snow or an icy lake, then come back in to sweat some more, eat, drink and be merry.

We reminisce about the thrills and agonies of the last 2 weeks. A lot of vodka is consumed, and it's time for us all to.....get naked?

What are you going to do at this point?

A) Keep a towel wrapped around your body, have apple juice or one shot of vodka, and get to bed early. You have a long flight back home in the morning.

B) Throw off your towel, have several shots of vodka, and get to bed at a reasonable hour. You have a long flight back home in the morning.

C) Throw off your towel, drink all night (drinking alcohol not required), sweat with your CS Olympians, run outside and dive headfirst into the snow. And take 2 aspirin in the morning with one helluva hangover, looking like something the cat dragged in, as you board the plane in the morning for an excruciatingly long flight home.
If you've got it flaunt it!!!! You only live once, do it in style

Oh definitely C, I'll bring along my bottle of Moet (miraculously still intact) and share it with everyone. Toss away my towel, kick up my heels and party up a storm. And as the party winds down I'll take a moment to lie on the snow making lazy snow angels as I look at the stars and reflect on the new friendships that were made, the possibility of romantic sparks igniting between some team members and I will send up a wish to the heavens that by the time the next CS olympics come around, these contestants will have left the CS field having found the love that they sought.

Thank you Kaybee for creating this magical event, my team members for raising the SA flag so high, and all other team members for being such great sports. Cheers all you lovely people. teddybear applause cheering hug

rebel2: A message from the committee with regards to the forth coming celebrations
Many teams have shown concern on seeing Team South Africa carrying a large pot into the hall.
Team South Africa assures the committee they intend to use it for a tribal dance, not to eat the other guests or take shrunken heads as keep sakes.

Tribal dance? confused I must have missed the memo from my other team members, I thought we were going to be having Olympians stew doh No body tells me anything. mumbling moping

Hi Kgb and all!

For the final day of competition:

I choose the last option and stay all night out with the "cliqué" giggle but I will be wearing a neoprene suit -transparent to be fair laugh - and drinking just hot, very hot tea and maybe a glass or two of warm-red-table-wine (mulled wine).

Hi for info yes it is common in Finland to sauna and then roll in the snow, or break the ice on the river and splash, but only amongst the most hardy, I settle for a cold dark beer. Just for info, good games, party tomorrowcheering cheering cheering cheering
