LadyDiz2: Ah easy!

With the success that the SA team is having we are bound to be followed by the paparazzi anxious to see what antics we'd get up to next. So I would climb up on the roof of the gondola, and begin removing my clothing. I have no doubt before we got down to just my ski boots a gondola filled with paparazzi would have arrived and we would all hop across into it and arrive in plenty of time to complete and win the event without raising a sweat - although we might be guilty of 'raising' a few eyebrows, among other things, at our resourcefulness.

Kaybee50: EVENT - Day 11 Ski Lift Gondola Snafu.You and you are teammates are together in the ski lift gondola, which is taking you up the mountain for the snowboard cross race.

You're high above the snowy ground, nervously anticipating the upcoming event, when suddenly the gondola comes to an abrupt halt. Something is not right. It's not starting to move again. The minutes are ticking by.

The competition begins in 20 minutes!

What will you do to get you and your teammates to the starting gate of the snowboard cross race on time?

Catibrae: Hi everyone and most honoured judge....

Before team Ireland went up in the gondola, we were asked by the Olympic organisers to be the main event in the closing ceremony of the Olympics. As we are all sporty and ready to have a go at anything, team Ireland said yes....

On our agreement we were issued with wing suits (aka flying squirrel suits) designed to look like leprachauns including hats. The Olympic Committee thought this was a wonderful idea for all the CS teams to jump off the gondola's in there squirrel suits in order of medals. Ireland being Ireland was last, so we were the only team to get there suits.

Up we went and right on queue, the gondola stops, an edge of excitement takes over as we peel off our ski suits to reveal out flying squirrel (leprachaun design) suits and made our way to the door. On feeling the bracing wind in our suits, we held hand and jumped, screaming all the way down to the event, where we were just in time to start our decent on the slopes.

Maybe the Judge would give us Extra Credits Today, Just For Fine Tuning our Survival Skills!

we practice for this sort of thing....

the gondola stops and hangs in the air. i look at my teammates and they've all started stripping and knotting their clothes into a rope and hanging it out the gondola door in a down under direction.

lucky for us, i carry emergency rope with me... (ya never know when it might come in handy...)

there's no time to waste...toss the rest of yur clothes out and dress at the bottom...quick...down the rope!
Wabbet attaches the rope safely to the undercarriage of the gondola with a series of complex knots

a crowd gathers on the snow below as we all descend down.
Larry follows KauriMan who has taken the lead down the rope..the rope is slippery and Larry starts to slide..which becomes a bit of a bummer for Kauriman. the rope was 15 feet too short..Kauriman lets go of the rope, and Larry momentarily dangles in the air with a north easternly wind at his bare back as the remaining team members crawl over him and leap to the outstretched arms of the strangers waiting to catch them.
once at the bottom we have many offers of rides to the event. i think it was their admiration for merriweather as she gracefully descended down that rope towards her clothes, incorporating several acrobatic poses with the expertise of an experienced circus de soleil performer.
