I'm sure I'm not the only one who signed up thinking they might get a date or two then after a time realised that the most likely candidates were a million miles away

Then went hmmm what's this forum thingy

Let's give that a go

I see people come and go, and you are right, nobody wants to date someone a million miles away. I agree the forums keep people around. For me, I enjoy hearing from people in other parts of the world, I realize how alike ( and different ) we all are. But my best shot at finding a date is the local grocery store. But now, I really expect to be single and alone for the rest of my days.

Singles are brave, we should be proud that we wade through life's ups and downs and take the knocks as unpartnered individuals ...

But we have a lot of life left to live and much to give to someone special so let's not shut the door just yet wink hug

One2note: The constant posting of political threads discourages new members, who are genuinely looking for a partner, from participating on the forums? Has it discouraged old members also from posting?
This is a dating site afterall & I doubt political forums would accept dating talk, so why do the politically motivated use a dating site to view their opinions.

Yes ! whatever is the world coming too,
Its not good enough that we have given the Woman kind a go at this voting fad. But now we have to listen to their global generalizations while looking at them sticking out their outtie bits out as they suck their inny bits in .

The appealing thing about football is, no two games are alike & the surprise & anticipation element is what keeps us so interested.. Now if you could apply that theory to the bedroom wow laugh

pat8lanips: Its a dating site in name only round these parts. Politics can get a bit dull, especially when its people saying all the exact same predictable things (see the 500 anti Trump raves). Some prefer a laugh, some come here as a courtesy to let us know how desirable they are and how well they're going. Some have yet other reasons, and so its going to come down to maybe dont read things of no interest to you. But yeah, I've been caught out, where the title has no mention of Trump but its the same old guff repackaged.

As you know, here in England, we have a woman PM, who found herself in charge, even though she was an avid "remainder", which is kinda like, being appointed captain of the titanic, after it was hit by an iceberg.doh laugh

Ah so you do indulge in politics. Teresa May is holding her own and will steer us out of the Common Market.

I don't enjoy the political threads, as they are not discussions.

they are diehard (possibly paid) supporters who don't listen to opposing views. They just send out (often false )statements and dodgy copy& pastes.

I do enjoy level-headed discussions on politics, but they rarely happen here.

And yes, people do date on here too.wink

I have more interesting things to do with my time, than to be obsessed with one particular man.
The only thing I have to say on the subject, is that I fear for the USA becoming an even more isolated country , almost to the extent of the old communist block.

Personally I've had enough of all the political and religion on the forums, yes it is important but for me it is something I would discuss in private and not subject my views in a public forum, hence I rarely post anything. But, some of the topics absolutely crack me up and only for that reason I will carry on reading.

Things were a lot more lively, until the mods adopted a stricter policy but the constant banning of fellow members kept the hilarious & often over the top banter, to the bare minimum... Maybe they should make a category "enter at your own risk" with a free-for-all, where no one could get banned.. I'm sure that would prove very popular amongst the think skinned members. wave
