What is it u look to judge first. We all do it in some form or another.
Do u judge appearance first? Do u judge the whole person based soley on a first impression.?
Do u judge how people speak..and decide that they are not worth your time because you feel they dont speak as eloquently as you would like?
Why the need to judge in the first place? Why has this notion, that we must pigeon hole people according to our own likes and dislikes, be a thing??

P.s. i do hope my spelling and grammar is up to par, but feel free to judge that also, if u wish?
i judge, and i'm not really sure how to stop.
what i have learned though.... is that it's my ego that judges because my ego LOVES TO BE RIGHT. my ego finds some kind of pseudo safety in being rightness. but here's the glitch...in all that rightness, i don't actually feel love or acceptance.
so while i'm in this middle place, when i see myself judging someone, i remind myself that we are all mirrors for each other and i apply that judgement to myself for understanding, and then practice some self acceptance to let it go. when i accept myself, i am more able to accept others. i think we all want to be loved unconditionally.
weeelll..... there's my morning cup of coffee thoughts....
human judgment can sometimes be finkey so I refare back to God because God is our true judge...and being aware of this awareness of God can correct you're life in all area's and departments

Very well put Jono....theres a reason i always check ur posts....
Its very true..the very thing we see in others and do not like, is the very thing that resides in us, and is obviously unresolved....
Im not too sure we can be loved unconditionally by anyone bar our own families, however, but thats only my opinion.
It would be nice to think we could all love unconditionally...but thats a very big ask and takes an awful lot of self work for it to be a reality.

Im glad u have your God to turn to Pedro. I hope that helps bring u whatever it is u seek from him.. We also have to be aware that God is merely there to guide some...however we have to do our own work here!!

I read up on the final judgement, its in the bible were God judges your good deeds and sins here and decideing were one goes...........ever since I was aware of god's presents I corrected myself in most area's of life.......makes me feel 100% safe............
I think it is trait of human nature to judge other people.
If they are people you would be potentially allowing into your life, then it is a natural defence mechanism.
I try not to judge at first sight. I do try to give people a chance. But if I have a gut feeling at first meeting them, no matter how much leverage I give them, that gut feeling always turns out to be right in the end.

Thats good if u find something in the bible and God that gives u ur peace and helps u to be a better person, thats assuming u needed to be...we all seek peace of mind... We also have to pay that peace forward to others too i feel. Its great to be close to 100% happy yourself...if one left it there though i feel its a waste...

Thanks Molly,.
I do Judge..and i also work off my gut instinct, however, for me ive also known my gut to be wrong at times too. Id like to think that i give 2nd 3rd 4th chances. Who am i to cut anyone out after all!!
It would merely be if its for my own personal safety thats at risk would i take a step back from someone and shut them out...put them at arms length until i could safely say i could let them back in.
As Jono said i think the closer we are to self acceptance and self love can we allow more people in and not feel the need to judge.

because of the proof of my past experience in life I am convinced there is a God 100%.
Bearwoman: Short answer:I would be lying if I said that I don't judge anyone cause I often do.
Thanks BW.
I agree with you..i do too judge. Its very hard not to judge...but just looking for insights into how we can do it less and be more open... Its probably a question that cannot be answered fully but its something i wanted to discuss.
Over time, I’m mindful, look for goodness, trust and I depersonalize giving people the benefit of the doubt. Beyond that I only judge if someon’s body language says the oppposire or what they say or that they are not being straight with me. If I feel really good about myself, most of that is very small to me.
And if a friend is talking to me about others I like to apply the old Greek three filter test and ask... in my own way....
“The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" “The second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?" “The third filter, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

Dee,
It's difficult not to judge.
It's a naturally instinctive thing to do.
...but if they are good, decent people, then I bypass all their faults and imperfections....because i know i am not perfect either. We are just as eager to be accepted, as they are.
I've known outwardly intimidating men by appearance....but, given a chance to know them, have found, sometimes, they are actually big softies with big hearts.
As the old saying goes, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
