A soft song, for soft moments. This one was written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the first time I heard it was in the 60's, done by Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim. But they couldn't find a singer, so they enlisted Joao's wife, Astrud, who happened to be at the recording session, to sing it. That version has a Latin Bossa Nova phrasing, which I prefer. But it's in Portuguese, and I thought most of you would like to be able to understand the lyrics of the song, as this IS a love song thread. So I chose Diana Krall's version, for you.
Thank you, Miwagi! That's both a song and a singer I'm unfamiliar with! And, as a fan of music (ALL genres), I'm ALWAYS glad to hear something new from someone I don't know. Thanks! And, since you (apparently) like that folkish country kinda thing, here's one you may not be familiar with. Enjoy!
