As a "actual" real life Hairstylist and Barber to both Men and Women I can tell one thing for sure. Texting or talking on the phone while getting your hair done is one of the stupidest things a person can do. For one it is rude, secondly you may not hear the stylist/barber asking you a really important question like "did you say you say you wanted the oil treatment on your hair or that you would like to be "bald" this time for your haircut"... Also the fact you move around and unaware once again risking some crazy miscommunications about the hair. Well, no doubt there are people that disagree but being in the business plenty of years I think my opinion holds a lot of validity and will help avoid tears.

When I go to the barbers to get a hair cut he puts a plastic sheet (bib) over me up to my neck so my hands and arms are covered in order to keep the cut hairs from going on my clothes. Because of this you are not able to access a phone or tablet to go on the internet.

If they use clear plastic you can.

Now I'm thinking about getting a haircut in the next day or two. Will probably take my phone with me to look at while I'm waiting my turn, but put it down when I get in the chair. Wish me luck.
