For me forums for some to blow smoke up peoples arses for others dating.

Maybe the name should be changed to "Disconnecting People" site.Or maybe even change it to "Let's just see how miserable we can make someone else's life totally miserable like our own".

Best and easiest way to meet people is to go to a club/tavern/casino anything to do with entertainment it's natural it's comfortable online or anything to do with ads is all about blowing smoke up peoples arses.
I do believe those relying on technology need a wake up call because if your sincere in what you say you want in mail or have what your seeking on your profile all you have to do is get out in to the real world.. I joined sites for forums but have come to the conclusion that dating sites/ personal ads are best suited for those who blew smoke up peoples arses for far too long left their run too late.
I do understand those who had loving relationships/marriages only to lose their loved one's in death using dating sites/personal ads.
I took my advice ^^^^^^last night best decision I ever made I swear by the above ^^^^^^^

It's all about socialising, isn't it?!
Nothing wrong with the site being a social platform, this is how you get to date or just meet up...
If you want something more specific join a marriage site, the purpose is more than clear and everyone is with the same intentions...
As for the forums, with the time spent here we tend to develop a twisted sense of "self importance" and believe we are the centre of this site...

I think it’s become more a social platform than anything else and that’s good too but primarily are people drawn to here for the dating bit and the chance to meet that special someone?

I believe it is a fun site. It has many areas for one to linger. Forums, Blogs, Poetry etc...when in actuality there are many profiles that never enter the fun parts. Some are actually looking and hoping. Some are here to hood winkle and looking for victims and some are not even sure why they are here. Some are here for email buddies. I have met a few from here as friends. Friends I made while either in the forums or poets corner. The one thing I have learned tho is a profile is not something to go by I think it’s become more a social platform than anything else and that’s good too but primarily are people drawn to here for the dating bit and the chance to meet that special someone?

we can see our self as we wish to be not as we are. Words are easy to come by and that is why I myself prefer actions. Actually getting to know someone. Oh and by the way that isn't working either. It seems I am destined to stay single 
There have been groups thru out the years Australia Ireland who have had meet ups and looked like a lot of fun. In the states we are so widely spread apart a meet up such as that don't seem doable

Social site for me.
Its not a bad datig site if you have the patience and time to sift through all the scammers or time wasters or creeps.
But socially..its nice to have a laugh with some...learn from others and avoid a few

For me, this site is a place of never to meet. There are many scammers and less serious human beings. For me, this site is more of a social site than a meetup site. The forum is why I'm still here, I have learned a lot reading different opinions and from reading people's profiles. It helps you to recognise that some people don't even read your profile before contacting you and this site has thought me how to identify a scammer, sick people and how to recognize a completely low lifer when I ignore some contacts. It's not a bad place to be once in a month, at least you can laugh.

There are a few people married who met here , from the forums I suspect there would be a lot less than from just daters . Nessa came back once to say hello , things were good for her . We had two off the Aussie/NZ forums marry , see them from time to time on Face-b , wish they should come back on once or twice to give us all hope
