MsContessa: After Brexit the UK will step outside of the Maastricht Treaty and others since, they will step outside of the free movement of people - alongside free movement of goods, services and capital. The UK are experiencing what is equivalent to a devalued pound since the Brexit vote which is great for exports and a hugh boost to the economy! The UK is also still governed by stringent fiscal policies, human rights laws and most importantly for workers a workers charter...
The devalued pound also makes the cost of living higher and cuts pay at a time when it's already a crisis and punishes people who have done the right thing - i.e. savers.

It can boost exports and in a cheap way make you more competitive, but in actuality you're rewarding the people more responsible for our problems and penalising the few who hold the nation together. It can damage trust and good faith and that few may not stick around in the context of being robbed.

It gives the UK a better GDP. For citizens, imports become more costly and it devalues real income as there is a tendency towards inflation and costs increase whilst wages remain. For the UK, nobody quiet knows what that may mean after a Brexit. At the moment the UK are experiencing a false economy!

Most people are not tuned in to economics, they go with the flow! It’s about big business (the few) and the people (the many) are mearly the working ants.

You mean living like there's no tomorrow?
Life isn't fair, and not all are fit to live with the thought of the future...
Some will leave the country, looking for an easy exit, some will manage well and the majority will have to deal with the consequences...for their own good, of course...
The optimistic thing about Brexit is that it will probably make the people more responsible and appreciative...

IMO, you're applying too much logic in your conclusion & not factoring in EU fanaticism, so whilst I agree with your conclusion the EU will see it as a loss of both control & money, those being the only things the EU lives for they may well go out of there way to make life as hard for the UK as possible, they care not about jobs or the people of the EU, there only concern is being in control of an European super state.

UK joined EU in 1973...
And there comes the question, why now... ?!
Did EU rulers become too self absorbed and arrogant or you had lost it somehow since 1973?!
I think both sides have something to be blamed for...
And I am disappointed nobody else went your way and requested exit...
Because EU reminds me of an old Bulgarian story about the fish, the crab and the eagle...
They tried to pull a heavy cart together...and failed, because each pulled in his natural direction...
We are too different...and that's the beauty of it...

Some of your points are very true, but not sure the pound is devalued, it is actually where it should be, having been over valued in the past. The pound is fluctuating depending on which Conservative or MEP farts, but even so it is remaining reasonably stable.
I don't believe this is a false economy, I think it is exactly as it should be, when the exit actually takes place the pound will drop, but within a year it will be back at todays level.

I read today that when the break happens the Uk will no longer be able to buy French cheese or wine, strawberries from Spain, etc etc. My god that means the end of the UK, Or does it, wait a moment, English strawberries are the best in the world, and if only available when in season, so be it, give something to look forward to, The UK makes some of the world finest cheese, so no problem there, and due to climate change, soon the Black Mountains will be home to the finest grape vines and well established vineyards will boom.
All in all a winwin situation,
Bye bye Europe, Don't forget to shut the channel doors as you leavegrin

Sterling has gone from £1.30 to £1.11 against the Euro since the Brexit vote.
Great for exporters but terrible for importers.
The English tourist will probable stay put and spend sterling at home so good for tourism, however, inflation will erode the gains up until now..
Factor in the Irianian sanctions giving the rapid rise in oil prices! And oil is still bought in dollars... ?????

That's true i have been buying English strawberries all summer and they are still abundant, with the street traders ( used to be called Barrow boys) undercutting the big boys by as much as 50%, they are delicious, unlike the Spanish forced straws which are gnarled and a bit tough. The English wine Riz talks about is excellent for the average English pallet . and getting better by the year. there's not much we can't ge, and there will be people queuing up to trade with us.

Also we will have some control stopping the immigration problem, in some cases they should be deported, but each case judged by an English court.

Come on Britain, you're a proud country, and you had an overwhelming history. Don't let the frauding european government take away your hope for a better future. You've fought worse battles before and you always survived, this one you will get through also. And if they want extra tax on British goods, the British can also get tax on European goods. Still there are more countries in the world, it's not only Britain or the EU, so let the EU rott in hell and start trading with other countries.

Keep the faith that everything will work out just fine.

MetaMaus: That would be the natural consequence of leaving the EU without a deal; it is something that does not need to be proposed..
thumbs up

The UK decided leaving the EU.
So, preferendial deals on trade, should be to the benefits of EU.
If they don't like it,they can sell their products elsewhere.

And the EU countries will have to find other countries to sell their goods to when they loose the UK market.
