galrads: I was wanting to visit places England and Ireland this Spring. Maybe Italy too. And then along comes another virus originating in China.
Well, don't go to Italy, it's rather disappointing. I have been there 2 years ago for 2 weeks. What a waste of time. Military with machineguns in the streets, the food was disappointing, the Italian food in the Netherlands is way better. I'm planning to visit Wales, The Lake district, Cornwall, Lands end, Stonehenge and Northern Ireland. Don't know if 2 months is enough but There are some years coming ahead... I've already seen a lot of England and a part of Ireland.
The best thing, if you like nature and landscapes like I do, is not go to the big cities but to the smaller villages. Except for London, I love that city, it's one of the few cities in the world I like. I can recommend you the area of Okehampton (in the area of Exceter.

Kitty1965: UK residents who are vulnerable are now being asked to stay in for 12 weeks.
Boris j :- From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction - you must stay at home.
Because the critical thing we must do is stop the disease spreading between households.
That is why people will only be allowed to leave their home for the following very limited purposes:
Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible One form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household; Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home. That's all - these are the only reasons you should leave your home.
You should not be meeting friends. If your friends ask you to meet, you should say no.
You should not be meeting family members who do not live in your home.

Yeah I agreed with you on all that if only people would listen, there's plenty of ways we can communicate these days so lie low and hibernate....

hope the british people will listen better than the dutch. The beaches and forrests were crowded last weekend, crowded with egoistic idiots, because the people didn't listen the government made more strict rules. Stay as home as much as possible, it can saves lives, and not only your own, but also that from other people.

I've heard that everybody is going to get the virus and there is no proof that any of this social isolation will stop the spread of the virus. there is also no evidence that a vaccine can be found because 40 different coronaviruses have been isolated and there are probably thousands of them and vaccines are specific just only one virus. Does that mean we should give up our pursuit of Love because fear is stronger?
