well, as a bachelor I am used to be on my own, and there where times in the past when I hardly had enough money so I stayed at home most of the time.
So, this learns me nothing, I'm used to it.
Do I like it to be alone? No way, but without the right girl, hey, what can I do...

daears: Have always lived by myself.
Nothing unusual apart from others being so grumpy about what they have lost
Most are scared to be on thier own or isolated now days.
Yes for some, it' can be an unsettling thought when they look in the mirror in the morning, and realise the person staring back at them is the one they will have to spend the rest of day with.

Friskyone: What have you learned about yourself during the isolation, that you never really realised about yourself?
I guess one thing that kind of surprised me was not “needing” the restaurants and pubs so much. A very big part of my routine was spending three fairly long afternoon..eves in two here in town. Oh I do miss hanging with the gang, but it hasn’t been THAT much of a hardship. Freddie’s has lots of wine, too so I stocked up...hole

Yet it used to be common place
If it doesn't happen at the push of a finger....
It's a catastrophe
People have lost the real life's way I think
I also have lived a long time alone. I like it that way. Yes, you are correct, many people just can't live alone and with the isolation now, there are many people are scared, bored and broke and never knew how hard this could and is taking a toll. Other's, working parents now realise how hard daycare worker's have it and they should appreciate them for basically, helping raise working parents kids.

I agree, the pubs/bars, restaurants, movie theaters are some of what I miss. Here, we have several luxury casinso's here and all have shut down from the beginning of the isolation. I was shocked to hear that because I can only imagine what the financial hits they are taking. cheers

ours too. We have two casinos, both closed. I drove downtown today, and noticed one cafe..deli with open doors and a sign out front read..We,re open...come on in! Our Goodwill store just reopened today, too, and there were quite a few cars on the lot. Guess things are starting up again. ?

Friskyone: The quiet snake bites the hardest!
That’s the truth and how’s the old saying go... the truth is like a dead skunk in the middle of the road. You can walk away from it but it doesn't get any better. wave

During quarantine I gave up digital communications for a day and realized how much I still like to use pen and paper to communicate. I wrote down a few thoughts on current events and how I missed some people using common stationary or a simple greeting card. I mailed them off to my friends who, surprisingly, responded in like fashion expressing how they appreciated hearing from me in that manner.

Things here are starting to open here too. Restaurants with low capacity, I believe salons, some small businesses, etc. I don't think the casinos will open for a while but I'm not sure. If they do open soon, that will not be good, I don't think.

I've never heard that saying but I like it and agree with it.

I bet when your friends received actual handwritten communication, they were probably in shock! Most people don't send personalised mail anymore since technology, even christmas cards are digital.thumbs up

Friskyone: What have you learned about yourself during the isolation, that you never really realised about yourself?
Hola Frisky girl, good topic.wave

What have I learned?

First I found out who my real friends were.

Then I've been spending less money because the shops are shut!

And also, less eating out and take away.

I've also learned how to live in peace and quiet without any nosy neighbours.

I've enjoyed nature even more and my daily walks without without anybody around.applause
