Taction: Messaging me would make me uncomfortable. Chatting, chit-chat, does not come natural to me. Not that I can't but would run out of steam quickly. Small talk is a killer, communicating is a killer. While there is beauty in the shapes, smells, sounds and colours of words and languages I often wish we would stick to grunting.
I don't like small talk either, as well as a lengthy account of a family history in the second letter.
The best things is when two strangers suddenly find something meaningful to talk about. What a click! :)
I don’t “ message” but what I gather from people who do is that many people are, or are becoming cynical. Women will say, “ I don’t know if I can trust men. Most are looking for a nurse with a purse”. Likewise, men will say, “I can’t trust women. They’re looking for a schmuck with a buck”....this is what the world has done to people...wrecked our confidences in one another.
I'm very uncomfortable when someone wants to talk or text on the phone or use instant messaging right away. That's a good way to get bombarded with spam.
rohaan: And yet so many people do ask..even if you make it clear you want to wait on that—I belong to an actual dating site, and in my “profile” I am very clear about not wanting to post a picture on the site. The request is done courteously and clearly. Yet I am continually asked to do so by people who answer. Do people just not read?
MEN... HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL WHEN A WOMAN TELLS YOU BY EMAIL THAT SHE'S LOST ANY CONNECTION WITH YOU ...in other words, she's getting bored and feels disconnected.
If she's telling you nicely and politely and wishing you good luck..
