Youcannow: You’ve only heard her side of the story .
I’m sure the authorities did their upmost to help the child , but if they are at fault , then I will hold my hands up and apologise.
The difference between us here is that I am not blaming anyone.
Regardless of anything else a young man is dead.

In Ireland he was still classed as a minor, he was under the age of 18!
So the authorities let him down, by not taking better care of him, but I don’t blame the staff that were looking after him on ground level as they are ran off their feet trying their best, paid peanuts while the big shots up at a higher level and better pay push where the funds go! So someone loses out and sadly this poor lad is the result!!

Youcannow: There are many factors that define a child .
Children often mimic their parents behaviour.
Eg. If you see violence as a child , then more often than not , you will become violent yourself.
The fact that sinead changed religion from Christianity to Islam , shows that there was a part of her that wasn’t happy .
He was living with his father.

Exactly, and blaming the authorities in the media is not the time or the place when you should be mourning your child .
The blame game should come at a later stage , not when your son is barely cold .

She suffers with mental health problems herself. Is that why you think it's her fault?

Selenite: Who are you to apologise for the "authorities" having "f*cked up"?
Or do you mean you'll apologise for having assured everyone that the authorities could never be at fault without even knowing what happened?
Or will you apologise for the statements you made blaming the parents of people who take their own life with obviously very little knowledge about mental illness?

What exactly will you apologise for?
Unlike you , I’m not blaming anyone until the full facts of the inquest are revealed.

You have my sympathy in regards to your friends death.

Your knowledge of mental health and the care plans around it seem very lacking though judging by some of your comments.

You are such a beautiful soul!!

I'm not feeling as generous as you towards the staff... I've witnessed too much to know mistakes are made not only just because they're ran off their feet. Sometimes it's also because they judge and blame the people with mental illness and truly think they're just not trying hard enough or they're being "naughty". And the lives of our loved ones are in their hands when they're hospitalised blues

I wasn’t blaming mother directly , I’m just saying that the timing of her comments are not what I expecting from a bereaving mother .

I didn’t say anything to offend Nules . Stop making up stories & stirring up trouble .

Clearly his mo. He likes to be the centre of a thread and he does this by posting inflammatory posts. Otherwise known as trolling.

But getting back to the op. For a parent to lose a child is truly heartbreaking. When the loss is due to suicide I cant imagine the anguish for the parents, it must be unbearable.

Mental health care in ireland is treated like the poor relation of the HSE. Funds are constantly being cut and facilities are terrible.
It is almost impossible to get mental health care for anyone u18 here.

Suicide watch doesn’t mean someone is with you 24/7 .
They just keep a close eye & see any change in behaviour.
