I had three major Cancer surgeries between 2001 1nd 2003. I lost a LOT of muscle on my left side.
Vicodin, makes me perky and depressed but kills the pain. Prescription Ibuprofen, 800 mil but that is like 2 400mil over the counter, Finally Lidocaine cream.
I literally have no clue what nation you are in and what is sold over the counter.
each of those will stop certain kinds of pain./
Vicodin comes in 5 and 10 mil with 325, used to be 500 mil, acetaminophen.
The A will kill your liver.
best to get the higher grade and take half at a time.
The 10 325.
Hands you can do the hot wax thing, probably at a spa or similar.
Some pains are caused by foods and activate nerve endings. Strange but true.
You can try Taichi, but get a REAL instructor who knows his lineage and studies with his master regularly. Similar are Bagua and Qigong.
All about movement, body alignment and breathing.
They help more than Yoga does.
Good luck.
Only those in pain can understand anyone else in pain.

Depends where and what is causing the pain. Some herbal remedies are excellent such as Curcumin.

This might help.

Some creams such as Ibrufen and Deep Heat may also help. It really is trial and error as what suits one may not suit another.

I've had soft tissue damage to a shoulder for 3 months now and nothing has worked not even Oramorph so today my Surgeon injected it with cortisone. Waiting for it to take effect.sigh

Hugs to you and the kitty.hug

If you recommend creams why not Tiger or Dragon balm? Athletes use those and I forgot them
Pretty strong scent and may discolor clothing.

Aspercreme works for most things. BenGay and other stronger creams are stronger but have to be used with caution--they burn on your tender parts.

Why would you put Bengay near your groin?
Same with Tiger or Dragon balm.
Man it even burns when I wash my face after washing my hands. Oil based stuff sticks.

I am lucky I very seldom have aches but when I do I use Alieve gel caps or Aspercreme Maximum Strength Muscle & Joint Pain, I prefer the patches. It actually works for me. wave

Is there a body position you can get in to get any kind of relief? I been dealing with sciatica nerve pain which is affecting my muscles and in my case, the best relief I get is with codeine and finding the right position. Codeine do have strings attached though, it should only be a last resort. I'm not sure if you know this or not but it is ok to take Advil and Tylenol at the same time (sister in law is a doctor, she told me its fine as they are different drugs that work differently that don't have any interactions with each other).

Avoid taking NSAID's such as Advil as they can cause kidney damage. Low impact exercise is important to manage weight, keep muscles strong and joints flexible. My friend has arthritis in her knees (she was a long distance runner). She started taking collagen supplements when she learned she had arthritis. Apparently, her joints haven't degenerated in the five years since then. She also follows an anti-inflammatory diet - I think it's the Mediterranean diet. Alternating hot and cold therapy can also help. She will sometimes resort to wearing a knee support to keep in warmth. On "achey" days, she cycles as she finds it does provide relief without much effort.
I hope you find something that provides relief in the short term.

Dispensary.
You are in Oregon.
And you should specify the areas of pain. Your comment is pretty general.
Chondroitin is good for joints, then again so is motion. It gets the Synovial fluids moving and basically greasing the joints.
Muscle pain always a hot bath.

I use Biofreeze for my lower back and knee and occasionally take Ibuprofen for headaches. Will say that walking helps a bunch, swimming or going to the gym

I bought an extra pillow from Amazon, used a bed pillow under it to sit on the couch. Got some new inserts, used biofreeze and a heating pad. I went to an Acupuncturist in the beginning and she helped a bunch. Treatments were very expensive or would have gone every week. It took about 4 weeks to get back to swimming and walking every day

Ro,

BioFreeze roll-on, at Wally or Freddie. Works great for muscles and joints. Been using it for 30 years.

CBD creams from various outlets are a good choice as well, Red Barn had a good one with eucalyptus and coconut oils. They got a Myrtle Creek location. But any dispensary should have a something. Ask the bud tender, they’ll guide you to a good topical or edible if you want the head relief as well. There was a good selection at the shop across from the sawdust pile on Tremont , next to the new market and 76 station. X street Newmark. I forgot the name, lol.
