The original post was Clinton did nothing to defend the US from Bin Laden. Did his attempt in Somalia succeed. No! But up until 911, the only reason any Americans had even heard of Osama, was because of Clinton's efforts to defend the nation from him.

And up until 911, the standard Republican line was that Clinton was making it all up, to distract our attention away from the really important scandals they were conducting against him.

911 happened after 9 months of Bush's residency, 9 months of his totally ignoring the warning Clinton's administration gave him about Osama. Right after his refreshing summer vacation in Crawford.

I'm sure we all wish Clinton could have taken care of that little problem before Osama made Bush look like a complete idiot in front of the entire world. But don't blame Clinton. Clinton would have sent a lot more troops into Alghanastan after 9/11 and he was much more diplomatic and respectful of the UN which you seem to have respect for.

They do seem to go with the polls quite often and not with their own principles. But evidence came out slowly too. Thank God we do have intelligent people who do believe this is still a nation of laws and they kept standing up to Bush. I think when they realized that administation would go as far as to oust a CIA agent to punish her husband is when many started speaking up, standing up, and waking up. Then when Libby was sentenced and Cheney should have been sentenced with him, Bush excused Libby from his 30 month prison sentence.

So the Senate Intelligence finally got the courage to investigate. Yes, it should have been done when they did they little show of an investigation on the intelligence that led to the war.

Clinton had enough to worry about when "Wag The Dog" came out, and for good reason.He was a disgrace as a leader and has as about as much moral right to lecture anyone on the behaviour , well i cant thin of a modern leader caught out for being so totally dishonest.Morally bankrupt seems a fitting term.If he came to any leader to do negotiations or say follow our lead he would have been laughed out of the other guys office.

A deployment of special forces into the Bora Bora mountains could have been achieved in hours via halo jump to gain intelligence.None of this was done properly because basically it wasn't genuine.

There was no political will really, its just a way of passing on a way to get a budget.After all if he was such a risk someone would have put a round in his head in the 1980's instead of rearming and training the scumbag who will be etched on school desks accross america as boogieman #1 for the next 30 years.

So you have a nice excuse to up budgets and spending because all of a suddern you have a new enemy,one who didnt exsist long ago, one of your own making, funding and training.Now all you need to do is convince the who globe is at risk from a few men in caves in Afghanistan and then spend trillions of dollars ordering newer and more expensive toys to convince the public there under imminent attack.

The truth simply is America isnt under danger of attack every moment your all awake!! Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
