Which one of you in your wild west version of 'the Christian West' will do this now or ever...This is the Existential Divide that separates you from the rest of the world at large. Obama, McCain et al, will make no differences whatsoever to decrease the divide. RIP one and all.

They just awarded a Medal of Honor. posthumously, to a Marine that had placed his body over a live grenade that was tossed into his Humvee. Four others inside lived though wounded by his decision and action. So yes, Solatire there are men and women that would sacrifice themselves for a greater good of thier fellows. Am I one? How does one know? It is a heroic decision often made in an instant.
Where as with suciede bomber, it is a decision of days. They have a video will done. They select most often enough a soft target. They plan the strike and practice it. They find ways to to negate someone from backing out of the decision at the last moment. The lives they often take with them, have no say, no due process, no time to come to a realization or offer a prayer of comfort/reconcilation to their pending death. Those that they don't take with them are often in horrible condition of physical and mental injury that no matter of time or medical care can recover fully from.
So there is a difference here, Solatire in my opinion.
Think of all the suciede acts of modern times that you can.....from
Japan's WWII suciede pilots to Islamic bombers of today. What positive
thing here on Earth came from them? Some moral change to society?
no. Some change in government policy? yes, a greater lose of freedom as we pass thru more screenings to board a aircraft than ever before.
Some message of love and hope? No, only anger and hatred by those now left injured or with lose of a loved one or friend.
I cannot see where they do any social and spirtual good that you write of. So I would not make them either heros or give them any
credit for this act against humanity.

Nice to know that Obama has historians behind him. They can rewrite some of the modern American history books for far left conspriracy theories if he gets elected. There are what.....50,000 serious historian in the country? Sounds like a major voting block to me.:-)
