You may have a new virus. MSANSSPC.DLL
You can search your registry and if it shows up you can "Modify" the entry by highlighting it and deleting it or backspace through it. This thing will add all sorts of programs to your pc and you won't be able to do anything because all your resources will be tied up.
After getting rid of it run Spybot, adaware, and any other spyware program you have.
Good luck. You'll need it.

And make sure you use a genuine and verified anti virus/adware software, many of the tools found when you Google such a virus/trojan (Msansspc.dll) are themselves trojans.

Its a minefield out there folksroll eyes but if you have up to date antivirus/firewalls your probably ok

Yep...

An example is Spybot, where there is a "company" who have stolen the name and try to make money out of the goodwill from that software.

If you run Spybot and it EVER ask money for helping you out, its the wrong one.

The Msansspc.dll problem can be handled today by most anti trojan softwares. wine

two programs work very well and are free...

spyware terminator

Also- for those that don't have an antivirus...

free.. works great. however.. takes a long time.
might want to run it as you sleep... then clean when you wake up.

It is doing its job, the only thing with it is it is a commercial software, and in this area I am always promoting anti malware software made by "real" hackers for free.

They promote their business by giving the private licences away and make their income on corporate protection.

Others yet are made by people like me that contributes to the software core centrally (example Linux and the likes)

laugh Thanks Kevin...

I disabled my defender... because Spyware Dr seemed to get rid of a lot of junk that defender had left on after a scan... so I switched to SWD.

Yes in my opinion and its is only my opinion MS Defender is crap, fails to do the job proberly and eats memory like its going out of fashion, if you run defender and then run task manager you can watch as it claws away at all available memory. But then I pretty much hate MS software with passion lol UNIX/Linux and the good old Apple for me laugh laugh laugh

You would think so. Except I have had such trouble by the firewall of a particular antivirus software product, blocking a whole lot of sites from opening up. And you don't know that's going on until you pay good money for a technician to check your PC.

A continual dilemma for me with IT I'm afraid, always something that wastes hours trying to locate the problem very mad frustrated

If cars had been build with the inherent problems that computers have we would still be using steam for transport

M, a better option would be to ditch windows and use one of the Linux distros! wink

for those of you using windows, the following is a list of freeware programs, which help protect your windows installation:

Anti-virus
AVG
Avast
Avira

Firewall
Comodo Internet Security (this also includes an anti-virus feature) -
Zone Alarm

Anti-spyware
Windows Defender
Adaware
Spybot Search & Destroy

please do not install more than one firewall and anti-virus application, otherwise you might experience conflicts on your PCs. you can install all three anti-spyware apps listed above, as only Windows Defender is resident in memory. the other two you have to launch them and kick off a scan manually, which should be done at least once a week.

I'm not putting up the URLs from where to get the above mentioned software as its against the rules, so if anyone is interested, just do a Google search for them or send me a mail and I'll send the links back to you.

Someone sent me this... pretty good reply to Bill Gates....

At a computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry
with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with technology
like the computer industry
has,we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the
gallon. In response to Bill's comments,

General Motors issued a press
release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would
all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to
buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You
would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the
windows, shut off the car, restart it,
and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you
would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause
your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would
have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable,
five times as fast and twice as easy to drive but would run on only five
percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all
be replaced by a single "General Protection Fault" warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask, "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out
and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door
handle, turned the key and grabbed hold
of the radio antenna.

9. Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to
drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the
same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.
