I do all of the things you state, we had a thread in the EU, that asked the question, 'Is it better to be loved or to love'
Interesting it was.
Being loved is special and when one hears it and knows they mean it, it is truly special. But loving a person is not always about saying the words, even though those are wonderful. It is about being tough, and making a person sit and up and listen, when they are doing something that is not right...
Combined with what you say, when I say I love a person, they know I mean it, friends, children, lover, father.
And I never want to hear the term 'I am doing this because I love you' If a person loves you, then you will know.

When I used to work as a cashier I was told to say to myself to each customer "I love you" and I would find that they would be more friendly.
I tried it and it did work, most would smile and be not so grumpy.

I tell my kids and other family members how much I love them as much as possible. Spread the love indeed. What goes around comes around.
