doleful day

she weeps as she pulls from the curb
not knowing what to do or say
he picks up his bag, turns and retreats
past the automatic doors that opened
into her life and her world

he imagines her gentle sadness
as she weaves her way back to
what she has come to know
of the world that gifted itself to

her and the gentle canine whines
that await the returns of the day
a tug to the mudded green later
as dusk falls on the times shared

tomorrow she will diligently return
her spirit to her lights task
but today brings a hole to hollow
as she soulfully gazes at it's depth

doleful...indeed. let's hope she was a bit near-sighted. not enough bananas in the world to ease that ache. a fine piece of emotion, goodguy.
