Sea Change

Time to make a change
I feel i'm wilting here
The soil beneath is stagnant
I need fresh atmosphere
My toes are curling up
An my nostrils they do flare
My colleagues i have let down
For i find it hard to share
Embodied in my life
By my duty to rear an care
A backstep i have taken
For my son to be aware
Another four years is all i need
For him to be a man
The essence of our friendship
Brings joy to our clan
But this town was just a stopover
Many many years ago
It never really appealed to me
But we gave it a go
I want to head back to
Where the ocean laps the land
Appreciate the sunrises
Acknowlege what is grand
Simple living in harmony
Can bring more joy than i know
Beats working for the companies
That care only for their dough
