BRUSH OF BEAUTY

I allowed the make-up brush to kiss me
All the powders to unlock my soul and enslave me
This addiction started when I was 3
The superior beauty I got from fake teeth
Was mind-blowing to me
I was convinced on becoming a doctor
Contradictory how I’m now being seen as a heart breaker
The outward manifestation of my pride
Is nothing compared to my ugly inside!
To be everything with and nothing without shows I’m ugly beyond a doubt
Only a splash of water to remove it
Only 9 packets more to abuse it
For 24 hours others think it’s hardly worth it
What if I told you all makeup is what I live for?
Without it I’m no one, worthless, ugly
With it I am someone, worth something, a beauty.

I thought about makeup, but being a guy, it would seem a bit boy george. I like the line from Billy Crystal as Fernando on Saturday Night Live: "My father used to say to me, Fernando, don't be a shnook, it's not how you feel, it's how you look. He was marvelous, but you, you look marvelous."teddybear shimmy
