Just had a thought the other night Wondering of the children's plight Amidst the anger and the hate What determines their actual fate Constant exposure to what they see And responses made to set them free Who said that they were deployed They never asked to be destroyed Is loyalty their only command Driven by an ancient hand Guided by something they don't understand Caged and waiting in remand Not one for prayers but here i go Please.... let all the children go Allow them to be whoever they can They are the future it's in the plan The scars of life is their demand Don't let them follow again and again Silent footsteps must now be heard Respect is the most precious word Lets change the world and think ahead Allow a child to be a child instead........

About this poem:
This is for all the children in the world affected by the stupidity of wars whether it be outside their homes or inside....or if they even have a home.........
Totally agree, "Respect is the most precious word"; unfortunately respect is what I fail to see from most adults (parents, carers, strangers) toward children and it bugs me daily. Thank you my dear for sharing your thoughts. I must also thank you for being the awesome shock-absorber for my frustrations from parents who yell and fight with their little kids.
Lol! Nuwahri61...didn't realize you haven't totally logged out:-) but more my fault as I just commented without checking who's logged in...

intense Nu, your write reminds me of this powerful quote by Henrik Tikkanen "Because we don't think about future generations, they will never forget us"
so, so sad and yet i do see and feel changes in our world consciousness, however subtle

Nu Very powerful message, especially to parents. Some parents fail to respect the right of the children and seek to mould them according to their image, denying them the right to discover who they really are. Kahlil Gibran says: You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you
Hmm something suspicious here i don't remember making those comments .....he he ......Ahhh it's my lovely wife ...Your welcome dear .....your constant exposure to the reality of this write and sharing it with me is part of the inspiration .
