A New Years dawn bought a welcoming surprise A Springs connection that delighted our eyes An offshore breeze and a glassy sea Waited for us as we broke through the tree Not a soul around as I reigned in my smile Brought back memories of a lifetime worthwhile How many morns had it been How many dawns had I seen The coolness of the water quenched my thirsty soul I savoured this moment to make me whole As we made our way out through the break Is this real or from a dream will I awake The point is rocky and the tide is low The sets arrive and put on a show My mate strokes into one it has good shape As I ponder on our luck and this beautiful break How fortunate we are to have what we do Now it's my turn to play and my thoughts are with you.....

About this poem:
Seeing the new year in with an early morning surf..........uncrowded ...crystal clear .......with and old friend Just shouting out to all the people here on PC ........Its been too long between the lines..........I wish everyone the best for 2016 filled with love joy and happiness.........Regards Nu & Kathy
Beautiful nu.....thankyou for sharing these lovely words of serenity, ushering in this new year. I have been away and just reading your poem brings happiness & peace to my soul.... Blessings always Cherie..
Hi Socrates.....I am so glad you could feel my experience through these words.....it's always a pleasure to share ........Thanks for your kind words ....Regards Nu
Hi CK ....Thanks mate ...totally agree .....but if I don't pen things when they come they get left in that void and I find it very hard to extract ......Hence most of what I write is not long after the event unless I am reminiscing ...Cheers ...Regards Nu
With all the poem flooding on here I guess I missed this before. Happy New Year to you too and the poem is very refreshing to read. Thanks for sharing.
