Shipwrecked

Long that does last in the late winter’s night
Out on the seas where the stormy wind blows
Desperate are eyes the rigging stays tight
A look of fear in each hands face were froze

Jumping from the surf was a spawny sprite
Flying up around through the sails she shows
Many a sailors how her hands will smite
And succumb to her panic in their throes

Sultry voices moan in monstrous delight
How each of all the souls lost at sea knows
Will the heavy chains of death be their plight
Dragging them down as deep as the sea goes

For last but bravery clings to survive
Begging only fate will ever surmise
