Murphy's Lens

Sideshow attraction
cold clever pieces
from Murphy's pages
we were estranged
in the east
where once I told you
I loved you
the boys on the front
ease the hours
writing home
my cigar winters
summer port
give time to remember
when your figure
and spirit
were vaguely lost
beneath the sails
I tell you this
yesterday's blue hue
gave no more
honeysuckle reason
