Captain's Log

Times of trial may cause pain
And those are just the breaks
We've learned from such experience
Our learnings aren't mistakes

Each moment that we're living life
Is a new fork in our road
With signpost arrows pointing out
The way with cryptic code

The destination cannot change
But the route we take we choose
And as we travel, so we learn
To better use the clues

Our journey's log is all we have
And all we get to keep
May your log be rich with brilliant notes
Before it's time to sleep

Hi, gardenhackle,
Yes, as Emerson said, "Life is a journey, not a destination." I just wish some of those signpost codes were not so cryptic! Thank you for sharing your brilliant notes to pave the way.
