I'd written this poem years ago.. just remembered it because we're in that season again. Beautiful for some, painful for others..... Just thought I'd put it out there again. Thanks....
Please know that I have appreciated you taking the time to read and comment on my poems throughout out the year - even when your contact settings are set in such a way that I cannot directly contact you to tell you so.
Thoughts of Plum pudding while snowflakes and fairies dance in the snow!
New Years
Feeling the cold a little, old bones so thinking of somewhere nice and warm. Some of us will already be well ahead of the planning stage and looking forward to the day of flights.
Another rest day bit like a holiday for most, many spend this day in praise of the Lord or with families, friends, loved ones. Many also spend the time alone with their thoughts, maybe no home, no refuge, no tangible meaning of life but we all exist, I can eat my fill but others cannot and even having faith or not life trundles on like another Sunday.
This song is a parody of Monster Mash by Tim Cavanaugh. With Ash Wednesday starting the Easter holiday, I thought it was a funny parody.
Here goes. A race on toes. To a place I don’t know. Travelling under darkness and the sun’s glow. To a land with the taste of foreign words. Dress myself with the color of ferns. Throw away cares and concerns. Soar high, dance over clouds like
Blue sky beautiful transparent sun the wind blows through the life as the seagulls dance in the sky dipped ocean.the water as pure as rain.the kids swimming about and having fun.as the smell of fires come our way.then from day into night. Sleeping un
Dedicated for my Birthday.. No candle, no cake, my daughter is sick, got engaged with my job, tied on my future plan... I feel blessed for all I have so far.
The mission is for us to be transported from our desk, living room or bedroom to a place we haven't been. Accompanying visuals and images most desirable and most welcome! And if you'd rather create a video to go with it..even better. Thank you once again... I'd like to see what everyone thinks... Keeping my fingers-crossed...
Spring in my step So soft to the touch Hug me and squeeze me You love me as much I love to be tickled I find it so funny But gently my master I'm just a wee-little-Bunny...
Colored my Easter eggs yesterday. Enjoy making them every year. I get a Betty Jane hollow bunny every year with Peeps, Cadbury eggs, and jelly beans. When I was a child I would save my chocolate bunny in the freezer and shave off some of the chocolate with a knife to make it last a long time.
wanted to write something. The ladies coming to the tomb and speaking with the angel was the only thing I could picture in my mind. Have a nice day all.....much love...ELO
The Birds - Of Spring They Sing - They Sing!
A Bit Of This and That Since early childhood he had been wandering the world vast treks completed mainly on foot, some like in days of old walking in the footsteps of Stanley and listening to tales told of safari's into the depths of the dark
Gracefully, the end of one thing marks the beginning of another. To this side and across the pond, greetings are sent from sister to each sister and brother. https
what then been painted behind child's eye as streams burn bright through colored sky lighting heavens high to commemorate are common tie as people born from liberty's thigh raised on milk of freedoms cry
I felt much better after I got it all off my chest.... and that I made people laugh.
Life is an adventure... Without it Life is a grey coloured cat- suit...
Spices scent the dusty winds Whistling across this narrow street Sweet meats glowing like blocks of light In the crowded shops Saree clad women walking past Gladly With eyes glowing as a ramzan crescent. Making music with their laughing bangle
Everywhere I go I am reminded as to what is coming up
Moon peeking through the clouds To see what's happening below Ghouls and goblins roam around And rotting mummies move so slow Witches with their brooms zoom around While ghostly specters haunt The living dead along streets shuffle Their ghas
BOO! Halloween Night some fun, before the real fun starts!
Written on Halloween night, of course. I just took an idea I had and ran with it. I have since converted it to a song. I just realized I left a verse off. Fixed now.
Just thinking of some of the things that entertain me. I'm still waiting for a song this year that has my interest. Royal by Lorde was my last popular song I liked, not counting Weird Al's last album.
Turkey, Tom Turkey displayed on the table come all and eat me if your able Come and taste my breast of tender white and enjoy my meal with delight Fest on my wings, legs and thighs and later we will shop for the Christmas buys
Just feeling the chill of weather which makes us feel a little below par but for many its is a time of families and making merry, to them I wish all the very best.

Well I tried to give a picture of trini Christmas...lol and still feels like I left much out.... A P.S Thanks to Socrates..... "In Trinidad, traditional parang music is largely performed around Christmas time, when singers and instrumentalists (collectively known as the parranderos) travel from house to house in the community, often joined by friends and neighbours family etc. using whatever instruments are to hand. Popular parang instruments include the cuatro (a small, four-string guitar) and maracas (locally known as chac-chacs). Other instruments often used are violin, guitar, claves (locally known as toc-toc), box bass (an indigenous instrument), tambourine, mandolin, bandol, caja (a percussive box instrument), and marimbola (an Afro-Venezuelan instrument). In exchange for the entertainment, parranderos are traditionally given food and drink: pastelle, sorrel, rum and "Ponche Crema" (a form of alcoholic eggnog)." Black cake - the main ingredients are fruits (such as raisins and sultanas) that have been soaked in cherry wine, sherry and Caribbean rum for several months before Christmas. Additional rum is poured over the cake after it has been baked. It can even make one "drunk" if eaten in large amounts.
A very short poem in response to Linda's challenge.
A Christmas Snow The soft snow flakes fall gently coating the land, which to white is turning. Trees brushed white stand gleaming as Christmas dawns with sunlight bursting. A hush settles as people start stirring emotions high, children in
The list is endless. I got a newspaper on Thanksgiving and it weighed five pounds. Advertisements for an endless shopping list of great deals. The only thing that left me feeling empty, besides the materialism, was having people work on Thanksgiving.
Blessings to every poet on CS. Sending out lots of good cheer and magic to you all!~ Celtic
Its a Monday thought
I hope everyone here has a great set of holidays. I just wrote this because I was in the mood to.
As I walk along the streets All I see and hear Are little boys snd girls with their scarfs and mittens screaming with Christmas joy They see Santa sitting on his sleigh Rainderrs in tow Christmas carolers Seeing merrily While standing un
This 'surprisingly' just won a contest for a 'Christmas' acrostic. I think it was the idea of using the carols rather than the actual quality of the poem, that and the fact that there were only 19 entries. But what the hell... a win is a win :)
Just some of the presents I remember getting over the years. Some I still have to this day. The mouse trap game sits in my closet. I haven't touched it in many years. I should get it out and try playing it again, or at least make the guy jump in the pool. Hope you all get what you wan for Christmas. Merry Christmas Everybody!
Blessed be you all this Solstice Night.
We have the largest prison population in the world. Most of the people in prison don't deserve to be there, but a few do. It seems that we reward bad behavior and punish good behavior in this country. I just think it would be nice to have the truly bad ones get a good scolding from Ol St. Nick.
