Misunderstood man

I close my eyes
I think of my friend
I think of how he was seen
I also think of what might have been

I only knew him for a short time
I knew he was guilty of a crime
He walked away from all he loved that day
To keep them safe he stayed away

He was the man with a plan
He was a misunderstood man

I think of all the good things he did
I think of the wise words he said
I think of how all this was hidden away

I often wonder if people knew every thing
I believe this was the reason he ran away

I think of what he did for me
I think of the friend he was
I am here because he planned
I am the legacy of this misunderstood man

Surpressed?

Embedded in every breathe I take daily
Is an undercurrent of of your essence clearly....
Entrenched in the fiber of my being really.
Not just half way but fitted oh so squarely,
In the box I call life covering it entirely.

You have made me into the Master of deception...
Giving the world a serene almost perfect impression,
No one ever suspects my best friend is called Depression.
Who is Master? Who has whom under surpression?
Or are we just going through this process as a coalition.

Damned if I knew or even care at this point though!
If this was a movie I would be sitting in the front row.
I would have to live this drama blow by blow...
But it is my reality the winning jumps to and fro'
Much as I would love to I can't afford to let go.

Hanging on means keeping you embedded in my life always near
Your role though to the massive not really clear,
Is as important as the next breath I take dear.
Even though you I may detest, loathe, hate but mostly fear.
I keep a smile on my face, shining brighter with each unshed tear.

Silent Voices

Do you see it
Creeping in the dark
It creeps over the painted walls
Over the beautiful furnishings
It darkens all the family pictures we hang like art

Do you see it I ask
It has an unseen hold
It threatens both young and old
Do you not see the darkness
How it has grown

I know you see it
Why don’t you react
He has taken control

You know now that this not fiction
This is fact
How perfect is this act
This dark disguise
Only I can see it
It is hidden from friends and family eyes

Do you see it I ask
Will you remove your mask
Look in this mirror with me
Tell me we will be safe

I know you cannot do this
For this darkness is a thin mist
One you use instead of fists
And un-seen scars that is easily missed

The only way to get you to see
Is to expose the darkness that surrounds me
It means I will die
Hopefully others will raise their silent cries
Do you see the darkness I ask
Look in the mirror don’t let it last

Ask for help
To loved one's speak
Reach out and get the help you seek
Do you see the darkness I ask
Hopefully together we can make it a thing of the past

About this poem:
For those who live with an abusive partner. This was inspired by a woman that stayed silent. She lost her life and her 3 children died as well at the hand of her husband

Pain

The path to take, stuck deep in thought, a lot at stake,
all these years, the constant battles the constant fears. all the nights alone with only my tears. I stick around I fake it, for those little moments in reality where i escape it. I carry my cross and others as well, never died once and already in Hell.

My Heart is Torn

My Heart is Torn

My heart is torn
It's ripped right in two.
I try to repair it day by day
But I don't know what to do.

I wish I could say
That I am fine.
But the real truth is
That I'm losing my mind.

My heart is torn.
It looks like confetti.
I need to get outta here
But I don't know if I'm ready.

I need to run
From this wretched place.
I need solace and comfort
From a Sacred Space.

My heart is torn.
It's broken, black and blue.
I need a place to call my own.
But I don't know what to do.

Empty Inside

Empty Inside

I feel so empty inside.
Like a hollow shell.
I feel like no one can hear me
Even if I scream and yell.

I feel so small.
Like an insignificant speck.
I am losing my mind;
I'm an emotional wreck.

I feel so cold and lonely.
Even in a crowded place.
I feel lost and forgotten.
Like a rat in a maze.

I wish I could find
A way out of this cage.
I need to be free
Of all of the chaos and rage.

Creator forgive me
But I'm starting to hate
Every day I wake up
With this emotional weight.

About this poem:
Just as a warning, alot of my writing is rather dark at times.....
This one was written around the same time as my Dark and Light poem, but before I found clarity of mind, and for the same reason.....
In case you didn't read Dark and Light, the reason was because I was raised into Christianity, but I when I got older, I started noticing "holes in the wall" so to speak. Anyway, I was basically told by a close friend at the time (who was a Christian) that I was going to burn if I did not "forsake my evil ways". My "evil ways" were choosing to believe that Jesus is not the only way to Heaven, and there is a spiritual energy in everything.

darkness inside

Im deep but so shallow,I feel my life has little value,Im scared and alone and wanting to know where is home,Im afraid to show my feelings that would be to reveling,Im stuck in the darkness without a source of light that is my plight.

BRICK WALL IN MY MOUTH

When I was a young wheel-flower
You were a vicious beast with a lust devour
You dripped with devil’s caprices
Ripped my blossom body to pieces

Brutal force was use to open my flower-walls
A gust of wind blew inside me like black squalls

Confusion rushed into my eyes
You wore your cheap words disguise
Lighting pain of thunder swallowed my body
My crying soul was disembodied

Streets of pain offered no rescue
You broke my angel-ingénue
We were on a see-saw
I was imprisoned by a grey law

Would there be a new dawn
I was a porcelain pawn

The brown snake returned frequently for three years
There was no remorse
You build a brick wall in my mouth
You married in the south

I played hide and seek for years behind the silent curtain
You were never a gentleman
I’m not a victim
I embraced activism
