Silence rewind reset

Silence
Cities once loud lies now on silent ears
Inside they hide
Afraid to go out side
Locked away
Thier own prison cell
TVs on 24 /7
Solitude they hide
Only venture for food and pay the bill
They hide from the unknown unseen
danger outside life now stopped
People afraid of the outside follow the new
Rules mask on don't cough don't sneeze
Why go out side

Departed

Gone as the colors faded
The cold clouds departed
Cast in shadows is the darkness
Where no mind rests as much as death

Where have all the rainbows gone
When morning weeps like tears
As black as blue becomes
So becomes life without you
As gray as day becomes night
I’m begging you to come home

Old Bones

Old were the bones
Found washed up
On the shore
Lost in the sea
Many years ago
Long after was life
Was empty of light
Buried under sand
No longer cold
As the deep sea
Now basking in the sun
Lying on the beach
Next to me once more

the trail

she looks at me.. some small hotel in some small town.. her dark curls run along the corridor of her pale shoulder.. her words hit home.. " you know, buster.. when your lust is emptied.. and your belly is full, you can pull down your awnings.. but you can't change the stock in the store.."

the trail is hard.. tough.. it sculpts rigour on you.. you learn or die.. some learn AND die.. I never claimed life was fair.." fair" is a made up word designed to take the edge off.. just as you need an edge to make it past something.

I caught a glimpse from the hills once.. the trail weaved a dark score on the dusty earth.. man, beast and wagon.. moving on.. beating against the tide of time.. hoping.. praying with actions... I wondered if God laughed or said nothing..

a coyote fights the moon.. he seems to know a terrible truth that none of us has figured out yet.

I hobble tie the horse.. make a fire the way the old timers showed me.. carrying a spark in a hollowed out steer horn.. some times I dream.. not always bad.. sometimes I count the great women I've loved... it only takes one hand.. but I still dream.. the dream that soothes..

I dream, in all this desert , in all this dark... there's a flower.. growing in the dirt.. and when I get to it.. it will smell like her kiss tasted..

RESTLESS & LOST

The feeling ..hard to explain
I recognise myself only in name
the sense of self merely a shell
the only feeling - living in hell

The light - end of tunnel is barely in sight
as sleeplessness reigns yet another night
So much to live for but lacking foresight
straying towards wrong - rarely the right

Desire to push the self destruct button
knowing full well result equals nothing
hoping like hell this night won't be long
hoping to find the will to be strong

Relentless struggle tomorrow will bring
and maybe the bell of hope will ring
may it chime really loud penetrating my mind
and reach the place it's destined to find

Almost Drowning

Caught in a rip - the beach was unprotected
And no lifesavers there on Christmas Day
Where father now my life he resurrected
As I sunk in the white spume - my mortal clay
Was close to drowning - had he not detected
My Mums alarm - and witnessed her dismay-
As I sunk so very close to drowning
He leap't into the surf - his own life risking.

There I was - half drowned and hearing bells
Stuck in the vortex of a boiling surf
So very close - indeed- to where death dwells
And only nine years on from my birth
Drowning vitality in stormy swells
(And being too young to know just who to curse)
Though - almost - I did not live to tell of this:
Fighting - panic - drowning - in the sea's blue abyss.

The surf's wild spume of salty spray engulfed me
Dragging me into the current's vortex
And now the puppet of an angry sea
Where life can end so fast - like a shipwreck
I started to relax - my strength left me
I tried in vain to signal my two parents -
'Twas strange that the only thing I thought then
Is that I did not want to die a virgin.

I raged and struggled against Neptune's chains
Dragged beneath the boiling sapphire surf
Heroic George a hero now remains
And in this way still proves a hero's worth.
I - growing weak - almost - felt my last refrain
When father rescued me from a watery death
Both heaving against the roiling turquoise waves
At Narrabeen* my life my father saves.

In this rip, he found a lucky sand bar
We stood on this while the swift current raged
And would have dragged us both into deep water
(The current had just for a moment flagged)
On an incoming wave, we now toward, were
Carried thus to the shore (more swept and dragged)
And lying both exhausted on the sand
Now thanked "the Skies"^ that we had found dry land.

if you're reading this

If you're reading this
I'm no longer around
it's a note I left
I hope it's found

when life is tricky
you gamble cares
so I slid down
the apples and pears

my rent was due
and life got cheap
finance drove off
with my off road sheep

my dog had died
and that was that
he started a fight
with a mean take that
.
I was chasing dues
much time to kill
all the stress was making me
Lilo Lil

then she pulls up
in a red corvette
twas a rainy night
and her clothes were let

"I hear they call you
Noir Blue
the only man
to beat a boy called. Sue

I said" that's true "
I said" that's right "
he broke my nose
but I won the fight

" I like your style '
she said confessin
tracing the butt
of her Smith & Wesson

to the uptown grill
for food and drink
the place was nice
at least I think

over a cold one
she got me hot
I liked her legs
I liked her alot

suddenly a party
arrived at my back
a blow to my head
and my world went black

so in this place
I met my end
a shallow grave
with a gun for a friend

and on this note
my lighter sang
I took last breath
and heard the bang

Dynamite

Were no different...Me and You
I got this list of things to do
Accomplishments before I'm through
Most times I try to play it cool
Just don't cross the line I drew
I'm walking around with loose screws
And I just might go off...Kaboom!

Ten Cats

Ten cats went for deer hunting
The mercedes cat fell into the abyss
And then there were nine

Nine cats were sleeping on the couch
A heavy chandelier dropped on the cossackcat
And then there were eight

Eight cats were on the hill having a picnic
A big storm flew the sour tomcat away
And there were seven

Seven cats ate some big fish
The serene cat choked a fish bone to her death
And there were six

Six cats were having a big party
The balloon helium tube exploded and torn the track cat apart
And there were five

Five cats sat in front of the fireplace in a cold winter night
The fire suddenly burnt the giant pekaatje cat
And then there were four

four cats played in the garden
The neighbour 's pittbull bit the pedro cat's neck
And then there were three

Three cats were walking by the river bank
A giant crocodile ate the pat cat
And then there were two

Two cats were sailing in the sea
The high tide swallowed the hexagonkeyset cat
And then there was one

The friskyone cat was all alone
She hung herself
And then there was none

Old Friends

Old friends.....
Getting old together in the forum as a mass
Years and years gone by and by so fast
They are still waiting and keeping their faith
That one day their soulmates will come up

Old friends.....
Talking in polite words in the forum to each other is a must
But you won't know if they are back stabbers behind their masks
they talk about each other in silent roads
Only their loyal followers who know the codes

old friends...
You are wasting your time in this fake world
Where everything seems promising and blooming
Or is it just your way to run away from your lonely life ?
Where there is no country for old men
Just like the title of a movie
What a cruel reality
