Enter the light i

I dreamed of light
A up hill tunnel so bright
Shines from heaven above
Voices heard from distant past
Familiar sounds Voices long gone
They sound familiar could be my mum
Long time gone taken in her prime
We dare not make a sound you listen to the sound as you follow the path of light your body lies motion gone now stiff to touch you lie the voices whisper come follow us you will have fun come to the light the jingle of keys locks now open do you want to follow us
Voice heard light shines so bright you try to focus blinded by the light your times not up go back from where you come
Motion regain breathing heavy
You back again from your journey to the light

Drugs

When I was growing up Nancy Reagan had an infomercial
"Just say no"
I believed that was the answer
Just say no
But
Her husband was giving lots of reasons to say yes
Like job losses
Helping people from other countries take jobs either here
Or take those jobs to the people over there
No help in making the minimum wage better
No help with medical bills
I have seen the effects of drug use
I see it in my pocket
The check I had to write to help pay for my Dad's funeral
Because the money he had saved for 35 years was gone
Stolen by their grandson to fuel his drug habit
I wonder with the pandemic if drug use it way up
Probably

About this poem:
I find reasons to stay out of the drug problem, thou I have indulged in pop and junk food, which is probably one of the biggest contributors to our lowering of life expectancy in this country.

The Hooded Chair (French)

Alone

Short days
Darkness surrounds
One sits alone hearing the echos the load noises the cars going bye from the world outside

One sits and dwells you are alone no one cares
No one knocks - are you ok
No rings your door to see if your ok
No one no one no one
Your once best friends your
Family
You once had a life
Now you sit and weep
No one cares your alone
You sit in the dark you hide
No one cares your alone

Six walls

Six sides
I can not move look within
These six walls
Contained ears closed
To the dreams around
I can't bare the sounds
The scream the bangs
Locked within these walls
Of others locked in these walls
Where I am now stripped of motion of warmth I feel cold
I shiver from cold and the deafness of sound
How did I become locked inside
These six walls

God

I think of you alot
Its odd
Wondering about you God
Where have you gone?
Humanity Lacks
Why did you go?
Bro...
Are you coming back?
This existence abysmal
Faith at a minimal
Basically Residual
My questions run consistently
Collectively continual
Do you care for us somewhere?
My paternal father wasn't there
An absence that is hard to bear
Life is hard
Your son was martyred
This makes belief just that much harder
Sacrifices demanded in blood
Cut a vein and let it flood
I'd understand you if I could
This place is hell...I'm trying to be good...

Fear

I search for happy
But find only sad
And wonder sometimes why I feel so bad
I try to get dry
But feel only rain
So I am soggy and salty all day
I try to be healthy
But I'm sickly with pain
It hurts me to be so physically drained
Looking for truth and find only lies
This leaves me cold and empty inside
Clarity eludes me and leads me to madness
These feelings I feel of hopeless sadness
There's a small light in the darkness that's here
But I am afraid to go near
A victim of fear...

warrior

he grew up tall
in this small land
and worked the beaches
field and strand

until reward won mind
and hand
and left his youth
for golden band

so two were paired
to understand
that marraige took
its own demand

"what then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost..
What then?"

his bandaged hands
found fame and wage
as status grew
about his rage

and wilder hearts
could never assuage
the fight inside
that always stayed

when life was hard
and fears did age
his story writ
upon a page
of blood red ink
and subtle beige

"What then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost?..
"What then?"

the band of gold
he wore as ring
did lose its glow
refused to sing

and wore away
the very thing
that made his world
a bell and ring

and each new love
brought everything
except the glow
of anything..

that's her

" What then?"
cried Yeats's Ghost..
"What then?"

Dream Walker

It feels like I am walking
Down a path when suddenly
Everything just disappears
The path, the trees, the flowers, The sky, the sun, the bees
Everything is all gone
And I keep walking along
Like I had been there before.

Talking Tina

Hi
I'm Talking Tina
And I Love You Very Much
I would love you even more if you buy me a Ken Doll
And also buy me a pink Volkswagon Beetle
Buy me lots of accessories
Like a pink guitar
Clothes, shoes, a pink house
There was a guy who wasn't nice to me
And you know what happened to him
I'm Talking Tina
And You Better Be Nice to Me!
