WHY?

Day bows out, night comes in
And the music slowly fades
Falling mist, sight grows dim
The windows close their shades

All’s been said
No more to cry
One question remains
God why?

fear

the lying began in fear
taught to do what
all living things do
survive
it could be said that
each lie was a step toward
the end but
so is just living

older

creeping headache
her cigarette
her virtue
blaze in
your direction and
further
an eyebrow states
it's much too late
to reconcile hopes and habits
gone like the smiling one
went out to dream in a field
but was lost among gravestones
given to know you
are just what you seem
she sighs at your plea
to drop her ash
lower her brow
and look closer

AFTER I'M GONE

It's really not feasible for one to know another Inside Out
everyone shelters things inside they dare not talk about
What's most disheartening to me is being misunderstood
If it were possible to always be my true self I would

When people speak of me 'After I'm Gone' I hope truth is included
like raising a wonderful daughter by himself deserved to be saluted
Also his compassionate heart was made of genuine precious gold
and thinking of himself first never happened if truth be told

Ronnie was humble while epitomizing selflessness and clever
in every fiber of his being lived integrity and fake he was never
Helping others was all desire and moral character stayed in place
a real life Old Fashioned Gent who induced laughter with true grace

Also he wasn't 'Willing' or just couldn't stop treating women too good
honest, Benevolent, Tenderhearted, and Genuine he firmly stood
It appears I'm simply tooting my own horn but I promise I'm not
just want the facts told 'After I'm Gone' Six feet underground to rot

SAVE ME

I do close to nothing most everyday
endless indignation impedes my way
Inescapable depression my Kryptonite
so draining it negates ability to fight

In a paralyzed fetal position I lay crying
attacks of panic from thoughts of dying
Decaying inside whispering walls
frantic for someone to hear my calls

Personal demons often infiltrate my mind
ways to avoid them I am unable to find
Faith is gone but hope shan't reach dead
will to live hangs by the thinnest thread

I've become consumed by sorrow
inducing me to dread tomorrow
Home depicts a lonely prison cell
'Save me' from my personal hell

In this utterly wicked world I don't belong
life the alleged "Gift" turned out horribly wrong

~Haiku~ Eclipse

Fulcrum sun cast moon shadow
Earth in brief atmosphered, silver light haze
Orbit of three into one

I have a forest

I have a forest
I want to give to you
Where the wind sings your name
In words whispered in dew
Where the trees are dead
Because you never stay
Where the flowers loose their color
And then just wilt away

I have an ocean
That I want to give to you
Where the sea is dried up
Leaving only salt for my wounds
Where the dolphins are silent
And the waves have died
Where the moon
Can no longer affect it's tide

I have a desert
That I keep for me
Where no one belongs
Because there is nothing to see
Where I can do no wrong
Because it's only me
Where the days drag on and on
Long and empty

street haiku

dark alley awaits
smiling in the dark
as the moon light follows

~Cobblestones~

Cobblestones gossip all over town
Two centuries whence first one laid down
Heels and skirmish, window tossed soils
Linens encroach, societies toile.

Carts drawn by hoof, willow sprig snap
Air drenched in thick, fog laden foul
Trenchcoat and top hat twenty feet tall
Lit from behind, a shadowy sight.

Whispering footsteps
Non-moon lit night.

Echoed drunken cheer
Off stone pillared walls
Tankards in clunk
There is no last call!

As the fireplace snaps and crackles out heat
Bartender serves scotch whiskey that's neat.

Anything goes this time of night
Backroom ballads
Justified fights.

Slaps on the a-ss
Cackling laugh
More drinks in pour
Corner leaned staff.

As the rats run the walls where the cobblestone meets
Growing in size with the same size of feet.
Lit from behind, a shadowy sight.

Whispering footsteps
Non-moon lit night.

Cats in the alley
Frosted hot breath
Territorial claim
One victim lame.

While the cobblestones gossip
With so much to say
It's only one night
That soon will be day.

Screams of pleasure
So distantly call
Not the first one heard
Nor the end of it all.

....

This is one night
Of many
Those cobblestones know.

If my soul ......

If my soul suffers so much.
I lie down and sleep, dream, forget.
I let my soul fly over the clouds.
Indifferent and free.
Sometimes I wish I could slip into eternity.
But then an angel leads quite gently
My soul back to me.
And surrounded by the gentle touch of the angel
I create power.
There I lie,
Kissed by an angel,
Lost in that moment.
If my soul suffers so much,
An angel puts his protective hands around it
And wait until she heals.
I never forget this touch.
My soul warms
Makes my heart beat faster.
I'm all over again.
