The Old Ways

Sometimes I get to missing the old ways the old days
I just can't find the words to explain when in peoples hearts there was a flame
And it became a guiding light and everything felt so right

And I can't explain how oil flowed from the word of God
And how it covered my soul I knew everywhere my feet would trod
My life was always bound in the old ways

How do you get across a cross that's in your heart
How do you talk of oil need I say anymore
I get to missing the old ways so I found a place to hang my hat beside the door

River running

You can find me in the backwoods makin my mends
Kicked back where the river bends
Posted up high in a tree
The best things in life are always free

There's nothing like river running being outdoors
There are so many things roaming the shores
The sound of the water peace of mind
Something both man and animal seek to find
Time and time again like I'm stuck in rewind
On the banks of the river you will find
Me still looking for some peace of mind

awaken to angels

Dawn has broken new days has
risen from darkness of nights alone.
Final sip of bottle as another day
without treasured partner here.
No where to be seen or heard.
Trumpet called as bullets fly my dear is far
and away, hold her dear live in fear as no may never see or feel her
near.I so feel my life dissapear,I pray to always be near you my dear.
So wish I could not fall here alone.

Storm at Sea rhyme

Storm at Sea

The storm gathers strength
air increasing its wavelength
clouds rush as past they scurry
the cold creates a snow flurry

The winds fight as they battle
cold against warm they rattle
out to sea the waves gigantic
as they rush across the Atlantic

Building up into a hurricane
tossing like balsam the plane
the waves below broiling
for war they are spoiling

The ocean their playground
eerie the lights and sound
of the clashing clouds
bodies will fill the shrouds

Before the peace returns
until then the world burns
as nature's anger subsides
and the souls peace abides

The Poem and the Symphony

THE POEM AND THE SYMPHONY

Time gleans "the sound" from you..
from a distant age gone by.

Body, Neck and Bridge...
Strings, Frets and Keys,
aggregates of this guitarra...

A matrix of wood and bone,
constructs of this Soul.

Embodied in the ink of his pen...
the writer personified -
encrypted in the words,
his art...his life -
each word and rambling
phrase, an incarnation
of the Nous.....truly, an unfettered reflection.

So too, the musician speaks through the sound
of each note...
each note, each phrase,
as if a paragragh...
reflecting sentience and imagination.

Together - they complete the poem
and the symphony...

Separate - they are two strangers
born of a common Mother.

The resonant embrace pierces the
Heart - fingers dancing into a firestorm ....
dissonance long removed, they chase away the distance -
forgetting that some are far removed from this joyful mood.

Mirroring one another, the two strangers renew their bond,
reflecting familiar and a courteous tones, in writ and song -
as thoughts surely become sound,
and all the while, are so evenly pronounced...
plucked strings reverberate through the darkness,
minor and major scales collide...
awakening the dead to life,

....to the poem within the symphony.

~confidential stride~

Hell your're what fifty
I'm just thirty
Doe's it really really matter.

You say it's all good as the sun rise's high
I'm feelin my age as you say you are too.

That summer dress fits you like a 30 year old
Yet in your 50's you wear it
No stocking tales told.
As your men are made up from what you believe.

You are a beautiful fifty, pushing fourty at least
As nylons rub, when you walk down a street
Confidential stride for the man you so love.

Your phone blurts a text at 12:28
It's him......hi sweetie, I love you
How go's your day?

You wouldn't believe it my nylon's..... they ran
My day is a joke........will I see you tonight.

I'm off work around six, can I run you a bath
With bubbles to take off the day you just had~

NEVER ENDING ROADS.....

Our life journey can affect us, in many ways
Each section taking, years-months-week or days
Could it be the places, we get chance to call home
Or is it the people, interchanged with as we roam

Was there a plan, or did we randomly pick a reason
Why we went in that direction, or based on the season
Coastal areas when warm sun and sand , was the lure
Or did we focus on isolation, solitude a wintery cure

Whatever the choice, maybe reminded by a scene
Or people we encountered, that hover in our dreams
Every moment, whether happy or sad will be recorded
In our memories to remember, special ones hoarded

In the closet of our mind, to pull out and make us smile
But were these the only reason, we travelled many miles
Experiences gained, and friends that we made and lost
These are the price, as moving on we paid the cost

Some we never forget, though other gradually must fade
from our daily thoughts, and at that time when we made
Those memories, that enriched our lives and made us whole
It is the journey that was important, not the outcome our goal.

Was I searching for something, as I moved from place to place
And sometimes my thoughts are jolted, when I recognize a face
Where do I know them from, or am I truly wrong and mistaken
I smile at them when it happens, glad about my journey's taken....

LOVE...

Love moves like the waves breaking with the tide.Always in motion, swirling, crashing, breathing.Love floats on the surface like a gift to be given to all who seek it.Wave upon wave, rushing to Freedom..Love is the key to every Mans Kingdom.dedicated to DEH.9-25-07 Jolynn

Phantoms

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
Following a new direction letting these pages lead the way
From the beginning of my existence to where I find my final resting place
Swallowing a shade of colors to give flavor to a tasteless life
As I open up my insides and reject the poisoned lies
Then I listen to the whispers becoming such a sweet melody
Finding a new understanding of my demons soliloquies
Conquering the reflections of a mask worn in denial
Dividing his deception with a dismal smile
And as a mountain that stands before me its heights I will overcome
Climbing out from the shadows of me standing in my own sun
So I close my eyes and disappear just to see Your perfect face
Me standing against the phantoms in their darkest hiding place

Trapped

You And I Alone inside
This Place I Love to Run And Hide
Where We Can Always Be Alone
No Knocking Doors Or Ringing Phones
Only Us With Time To Spare
As I Gently Caress Your Hair
I'll Kiss You Like It's Our Last Days
Before The Memories Start To Fade
Nothing Here Stays Very Long
It turns To Hate And Bitter Song
Which I Am Left to Face Alone
I regain My Strength And Carry On
To Face The World In Which I Dread
Loneliness Trapped In My Head.
