The Belle of Yeavering Bell

The Belle of Yeavering Bell

It was an eye for an eye
In times gone by
A life when they lived to trade
So if you enter her home
Where you are free to roam
Be sure when you leave
You have paid.

Toss a coin into the air
Make a wish, leave it there
Listen to the whispers on the wind
Hear echoes of the past
Telling tales of those who sinned
Take the beauty
And make the memory forever last

The Belle, of Yeavering Bell
Is watching you I tell
To be sure, her hospitality is repaid
Nothing is for free
Not in the past, or now, you see
So pay your way to have no need to be afraid

You’ll be cursed if you don’t heed
To repay the Belle out of greed
For ill gains, you will now be in her debt
As she guards her sacred home
Where her ancestors roamed
You’ll live a life that you surely will regret

Treasure Chest.

I have a weakness in my sight as I am getting old,

I thought it was my girlfriend I saw shiver with the cold,

I placed my hands around her bum, and said I'll warm you dear,

In shock the strange girl screamed and swung a slap to my left ear.

My dentures flew into the air, and landed down her front,

And as I dived to fetch them, it was like a treasure hunt,

My hand became entangled in the loose threads of her bra,

And as I pulled it off her, half the street yelled out HURRAH !

I took my T shirt off so I could cover her bare chest,

And then arrived a Copper with the two of us half dressed,

I couldn't hear him as he spoke, my left ear partly deaf,

And with no teeth I could not speak, a word that starts with " F "

He brought us to the station where my girlfriend was in wait,

And written all across her face, was jealousy and hate,

It took me all my might to prove, that I was innocent,

And finally they all believed, it was not my intent.

Imagine all of this was caused because of poor eyesight,

And that poor girl will ne'er forget the day she got that fright,

I sat there with a red ear and a bag of cold ice cubes,

And to the lads now boast, "I got my teeth into her boobs".

Dragon Cult Ritual

Like a moth into the light,
the world is ours to unite,
so purified, as we ignite,
and toss ourselves into his flame,
to free ourselves of nature's blame.
His hunger, habitual.

Like a whore of hearts lament,
our fate is ours to regret,
so mortified, as we forget,
and drown ourselves within the sea,
to wash ourselves at his decree.
His avarice, immortal.

I curse thy life, we leaveth thee behind.
Thee not worthy of the dragon's sight,
wash thy sins, or beget the blight.
As burning winds are blowing south,
we throw ourselves at the dragon's mouth.
The dragon cult ritual.

hold me like the moon

BOUND FOR NOTHINGNESS

On a treacherous curve,
Around a steep mountainside,
In a floundering ship,
Sinking into the oncoming tide,

On a spaceship bound for nowhere,
A fetus awaiting the abortionists blade,
Shifting through shadows of endless nights,
In solitary confinement counting the days,

Wandering a desert finding no oasis,
In a liferaft lost on stormy seas,
In a flaming jet tumbling from the night sky,
Step on a landmine, eyes closed, I freeze,

Are the walls closing in,
Or am I fading out?,
Can I still cry out to God,
From the deepest depths of doubt?

Is there a mountain too high to climb?
A river too wide to cross? Has all love left the hearts of
men?
In all eternity, are we forever lost?

Beget Freedom with Love

Trapped inside of my head,
it's flooding with dread,
I'm drowning.
Swimming up for air,
I hear a voice so fair,
a cause to care?
I'm fighting.

Through fog and disrepair,
I rip and I tear,
I'm climbing.
Scaling up for the light,
her hand is in sight,
now looking down at the blight.
We're flying.

Walking the Universe

Space the aftermath, being final of what was and what is the infinite. Life born into particles matters stream floating around the universe coiling though the faces of energy.

Future of the elements superimposed riding the planes into the void of darkness which becomes light then there was hush of silence that fall upon the ground.

Solar flares arch across the sky with stars twinkling transmission voyages into dreams going into the mind eyes.

Genesis of the Dead

21 August, 2019...Cape Canaveral...

'-and lift off! Lift off of Explorer seven, NASA's first atmospheric sample return probe to Venus!'....

Venus had been born from the same cloud of star dust as its near neighbour and had been hit by clouds of debris left over from the birth of the solar system; but Venus had been hit harder than Earth and her rotation had been slowed to a crawl...on its surface, oceans grew and for a few fleeting millions of years Venus had begun the same road to life as her sister world.

But Venus was so much closer to the inferno that is the Sun..the great oceans began to evaporate, until eventually huge clouds of water vapour hung like a death shroud high above her surface; temperatures rose, pressure increased and the foul vapours from her volcanoes added to the clouds already high in the atmosphere.

And yet, life persisted; a micro organism that rose into the air along with the vapour of the oceans that gave it life. For millions upon millions of years it clung to life, living in a kind of stasis without oxygen to let it breed and evolve.

Then a new visitor arrived; visitors had come before, but they had always continued down to the hell below the clouds, or orbited Venus, probing her secrets; but this one flew through the clouds, scooping up some of the air as it went; then it fired it's engines and soared back out into open space, changing it's course and heading back whence it came, the blue, living earth.

In the sealed canister within the probe, the organism cooled and began to emit radiation; as the probe neared Earth, NASA control detected the emissions, and the decision was made to destroy the probe and it's cargo before it could enter the Earth's atmosphere. But the scientists had left it far too late; the probe exploded in a silent flowering of destruction on the very edge of the atmosphere... some of the organism survived and drifted down into the thicker air far below. Finding it rich with oxygen, it began thrive and multiply, each cell of each organism dividing at a frightening rate...every few minutes it reproduced. It took very little time for Earth's air to be filled with it.

The organism was inhaled by all that lived upon the Earth...Plants rejected it at once, animals likewise, their immune systems recognizing this alien intruder and eliminating it. But due to some quirk of human bio-chemistry, the bodies of people accepted the organism and took no action against it. The organism bred and settled into it's new living hosts, doing no harm, just wanting to live. Soon, every person on Earth was carrying the organism.

This would have been the end of matters but for one fact that was to change the World forever; when people died of accidents, violence or natural causes, the organism, deprived of oxygen again, would begin to emit radiation; this stimulated the nervous systems and the mind of the recently deceased, causing them to re-animate... the person they had been was gone, their memories, life skills and everything but the most basic instincts erased. Rumours began on the internet of people who had returned to life and attacked anyone nearby, biting them, clawing them, ripping chunks of flesh from their warm living bodies and greedily eating it.

The organism carried inside a victim would begin to change again, emitting its radiation. This attacked all the organs in the victim's body, specifically the renal and respiratory systems; they would die within 24 to 48 hours, then re-animate and attack more people. Then their came news reports of apparently random attacks on people; the authorities in most nations tried to clamp down on the news; they were unable and ill equipped to deal with what they were facing.

This continues for some weeks, the amount of victims and re-animates increasing until the critical mass required to interfere with the functioning of organized society was reached.

The apocalypse had begun.

About this poem:
A new 'vague scribble' for you all; a short-short story this time; watching the classic George Romero zombie movies over the weekend set me thinking- apart from some vague hints in 'Night of the living dead' it has never been explained in canon just WHERE this virus came from- no copyright infringement intended, this is fan-fiction written for entertainment purposes only...and please, no wars in the comments section-yes, i know it's a story not a poem as such, and fellow fans of the genre may well disagree with my take on this; why not accept the challenge of the pen and write your own genesis story?

Opt_In

my spacious circular satin sheet bed

awl-writey then; here's how it goes:
Fate selects among names appearing in fuchsia
an' get tossed awl nekked in my threadcount bed
Rain checks and waivers hereby nullified, nope
in this jurisdiction we play joker-card trumps
then into this Carnal Volcano we'll go!

Note the sewn-down circumference
my colossal round bed, call it
The Hunger Gaming of the Shrew
or anywhich old movie likens to liking it hot
Prevented from escape, but feel free to evade
its time to spin that Fateful Wheel...

Bzzzzz-a-bzzz-bzz and clickety -Click-
which name would you guess haps first on the list?
yah Ruby Red Lipstick; a flick of Fate's finger; You In!
More buzz's and clicks as random insists
swipe three more Duchesses away from view
plus the Pizazz of Xanax Confederate Class
and oui, Mon' Amie's
one Pixie Dust Prodigy nearby in the woods
Next up Vestal Virgins League 'low the southern cross
plus a few hard-hitting Theta Babes who until now
ruled across all of CS and the Earth

By now ought to know who among be tossed in
this needlework crafty silk fabric of mine
And as Fate's has ever a task at hand
moves like the wind thru the pines and Opt_In's
oops there goes another misty eyed Miss

Gaining quick trust takes that special touch
enter King Neptune up from the abyss
dexterity of a warm-blooded siamese squid
Anterior suctions lining tentacles twenty
ribosomal genetic expression sequenced their entire length
knocks 'that one' off your bucket list, eh?
and concentrating further on my enclave niche

New discovery abounds in Old World Leather
spreads the toes like spokes on a wagon wheel
nixes last vestige of inhibition
pheremone imbalance in saying the least
Slather oil of musk with glycerine gel
violins' allegro increasing the fever
coil and writhe, intertwine and slip slide
avatars straight out paranormal
Nympholepsia gone clinically wild
to saturation breaks this impossible bed
Never again the collective sigh
having never had buttery noodles like this

awl writey then;
Either what's in your wallet, or
who's hoosier data now?
