Spring

Season of Persephone
nymphs dance in abandon
to the will of Apollo

I walk the country lanes
rain falls as distant mandolins
awaken to a daffodil dawn

Mist holding in shrines
in the mornings it works up the valley
cherry blossom ripe

Juggling InThe Park

Juggling
In the park
I think it was three weeks before Easter
Walking in the park
I think it was below freezing
People talking
People walking
A woman selling Mountain Dew
In a gas station
Wishing me a nice day
Can you dig it
Yes I can
I've been waiting such a long time
For Sunday
Another day in the park
I think it was March 19
Slow motion drivers
In the Hardee's drive thru
Getting sausage and biscuits
And maybe some gravy
Wait a minute
I used to pay way less than this
9 dollars
and 8 cents
Listen children
All is not lost
Just some coinage
Just some coinage
I've been waiting such a long time for the day

Farewell but not Goodbye

On ethereal wings
It ebbed and flew
And took from me
The love I knew
Arched and swiftly poised
To asunder
No caveat or counsel
Nor reflection left to wonder

You faded away into the night
Without fear and without fight
Pain was gone replaced with such peace
From the struggles of life you found a release
To walk again a life anew
To loving arms that waited for you

You went to a place I cannot follow
My broken heart distraught and hollow
I held your love in the palm of my hand
And watched it vanish, likes prints in sand
But life’s a valley
Between high and low
Reverberating phantoms
Where we fear to go

Love endures the corrosion of phase
You brightened and enlightened my waking days
Your journey is over, now time to sleep
Until we reunite, our memories I’ll keep
Come for me when my day is done
As you were for me, when my life begun

Holding on…

I’m still here…holding on.
Waiting for the change to come.
Praying for deliverance.
Wanting to be moving along. Soon?

Just lingering here;
Yearning for my steps to leave this past behind me.
Praying for the future that I can see
Only in my dreams.
Hoping that it’ll soon be a reality.

Can’t give up.
Don’t want to stop…believing.
Success could be closer than I imagine;
Life is sometimes quite surprising.
So I’ll just keep…holding on.

think twice

I tried, no I didn't
I wanted to, but I didn't
I realized then I opened my eyes
was gonna sing but the windows broke
before I could yell out that note
it was a shattering experience
I got glass in my eye
no I didn't but
it was worth a try
a knock on the door
wait that's just a woodpecker
got a hole in my door
gonna use it to
spit in the sky
wait that was a contact lens
just spit in her eye
better put that glass
back in my eye
feels like the sky is falling
no it's not
I was on cloud nine
now it's just a fog
I better wake up
but for what
cause she gonna kill me
for spitting in her eye

FLOOD....

Once a lush green valley, now coated in silt
Rooftops of houses, raise emotions of guilt
Not that anyone can control, nature's actions
Destroying once held, personal satisfaction

Emotions of family, who achieved, but lost
Uncertain if they will survive, baring all cost
Of starting again, once roaring water flowed
Left despair, removing any confidence glow

Flashes of colour, can be seen submerged
Natures actions, was certainly not deserved
By families who worked, to make a good life
Now confronted, by a new future of strife

Once they had dreams, now the future holds
Doubts they can survive, when staring at gold
Once buried below, where above flowing water
Coats everything in silt, self-confidence falters

Human resilience, will hopefully take control
Allowing them to cope, to again follow a goal
No one can for-see, the future with true hope
As they start again, and like others....somehow cope.

Family values

in reality they are not a reality, maybe me maybe you maybe not,
so we ain’t saints it’s clear to know we are all looking for our place to flow. this is more of an adventure so wait and understand that i am now writing with no hands, the truth is a lie, the lie is the truth, it matters not we’ve found our spots everyone makes mistakes, I now have no brakes. A little understanding goes a long way like a steam train coming of the tracks, wondering who’s next. I’m not worried because I have been through hell, sometimes feels like I’m under a spell, in my defence these family values are past tense, do not be worried for I am not really here. I can’t die because I believe I am already dead, just two steps ahead, my only wish would be would be for you to remember me me me the way I use to be, I regret sadly that these family values are not what I thought, not what I was taught, not in my heart not in my soul, I’ve gone down the rabbits hole to late to turn back as I am back in black, to see red and green my eyes can see that way maybe I’m a day away from finding my way i am stronger then all. Will this all just vanish someday realising this is all paper mache and clay. It’s insanity, I’ve taken a lot of lsd. While meditating with monks it’s pretty clear we are all here just to cry or is it just some sort of lie , is this the end, I’m up In the sky. I am not afraid to die….

Shadows of Frost

In the elongated shadows of frost
A pattern is etched on pale glass
Its prisms causing colors that dance
Wholly create which halogen’s will pass
As reflective as the late winter sun
And the sum of its atomic mass
So inscribed is nature's brush
Watching it paint no more, alas

SPECIAL PEOPLE.

Special people, we meet through life.
Smooths way forward, easing strife.
Passing through, during difficult times
Hovering close by, watching for signs

Until it's time, to show what matters.
Like a caring cook, ladens platters,
of treats to bring smiles, to a sad face.
Or hugging arms, making one feel safe.

We call them friends, whoever they are.
Whether living close, or watch from afar.
To feel lucky, having someone to care
Supported when needed, able to share.

Friendship so precious, better than wealth,
many will agree, true friendship and health.
Walk hand in hand, with a peaceful grace.
Allowing life to be, our happiness space.
