A Broken Man

Here lies a broken man
Heart shattered and torn
Broken from the woman he loved
She was his rose, she, his thorn
He fell so deep that
The oceans depth couldn't measure his love
She treated him like an option
He thought she was sent from above
The love he held for her
Is rare and hard to find
Because she meant everything to him
To him, their love was divine
But why would a man who fell so deeply
Want a woman who didn't show the same
It was because he took her words to heart
And he felt with her, his heart was safe
And her beautiful lies he wanted to hear
They made him feel wanted and desired
But when he needed her
She made excuses, and he believed the liar
He believed because he was naive
And held on to what was great in the beginning
Never knowing that his forever and always
Would soon be ending
So here lies a broken man
Betrayed by love, betrayed by his own emotions
A love that was so deep and pure
Broke him as he drowns in that ocean

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp - XIX - Tides

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I
*** Part III: Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp ***
[ XIX ]
*** Tides ***

“Tides
Of life
Come and go; –
All
Through slides,
Friend or foe,
- For
Each, guides,
Fast, or slow; –

*** Root ***

Tides
In strife,
Rhythm and flow; –
- Time
To grow,
Not take sides,
- High
Or low,
Fields in rife; –

*** Root ***

Tides,
- Thus, change,
Roll or row; –
Stretch
To wides,
So and so, –
In
A sketch,
Shores to plough – ”

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp - XVIII - The oak

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I
*** Part III: Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp ***
[ XVIII ]
*** The oak ***

“The oak
Stands
On guard; –
Watch
Close
Who is woke:
The leaf,
The trunk,
Or the crown; –

*** Root ***

The oak
Lands
To froze,
- Time
Seems
To have shard,
Stiff,
Shrunk,
Winds in soak; –

*** Root ***

The oak
Has
Deep roots; –
Rich
Streams
Fill this earth,
Grief,
Drunk,
Are world’s dreams – ”

More and less

More and more
I want to keep silence
In response to the said nonsense,
Less and less
I want to scream,
When someone's speech
Is a sheer rudeness.
More and more
The beauty that the nature breathes
Is clearly visible
But less and less
The music is heard
Since no one hears it ...

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp - XVII - Bright sun

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I
*** Part III: Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp ***
[ XVII ]
*** Bright sun ***

“Bright sun!
- Said
The small child
Of the maid;
Chirp
Of birds,
Far
And mild,
Stirs this heart –

*** Root ***

Could you
Hear
The branch wild
Shake to twirp
Breath
Of spring?
Oh,
Bright sun!
Rays, thou sing; –

*** Root ***

Low clouds
In
The dew ring
New dawn,
- Cliup!!.. –
Bright sun!
In
A slurp
Of shy deer – ”

I fear

I fear if I run out of ink
my thoughts will cease to flow,
No longer free to roam around
where they desire to go.

Caught up in a stasis as my
mind begins to congeal,
Severed from my senses I find
I can no longer feel.

The proof of my existence is
my words upon the page,
Without this free expression I
feel my world is a cage.

How could I ever tell you what
my writing means to me,
Dear children born within my mind
and then I set them free.

I love my thought's many offspring
they're so dear to my heart,
I give them freedom to grow and
with my blessing depart.

I let them go to make their own
way in the world so wide,
My heart nearly bursts they are the
source of my greatest pride.

GOD'S ETERNAL LIGHT

Sailing on smooth waters
Our spirits were content
Until we looked up to see
Angry rolling darkness ahead

Swirling it crept into our souls
Suffering with anxiety and fear
Day after day only blackness seen
Always praying for a light to appear

Suddenly pushing the dark swirl aside
Guiding us by a bright Rainbow light
As God promised many years ago
Was the Lighthouse of Eternal life

About this poem:
Update: For some reason they removed the picture off of here so cannot show it. But this poem was based on my sister-in-law's Pandemic painting she did. An ocean picture - 3 paneled - the far right calm sea with sunshine on the right and dark clouds creeping in on the left. The Middle panel dark swirling ocean waters and clouds - 3rd panel right side dark clouds and ocean but left side a rocky cliff with a beautiful lighthouse with a rainbow beam shining up through the clouds and the sun shining to the left. My sister-in-law painted the picture above the poem as her Pandemic project. She is an award winning artist.

Living Well Is Our Best Revenge

Like fine tuned instruments
When even one string is out of tune
Like a broken Christmas ornament
And stinks all the way to the moon

My message is please care for one’s self
Even endure some pain if bearable
Give and take is a thing in itself
In order to achieve its comparable

Seldom can you gain otherwise
Without making more sacrifices
The lives of our children are our prize
Something to think about twice

I bring to you this press release
More understanding than advice
A hope for change is a hope for peace
Better than the role of a dice

Work

The last time I heard a song I liked that was new
Was Bad Guy by Billie Eilish
Now a new song has emerged
Rich Men North of Richmond by Oliver Anthony
It talks of low wages matched with low value of the US dollar
My Dad once said, "I never made that much when I was working."
I said Dad you got it all wrong
In today's dollars your 13 dollars an hour(1979) would be worth over 54 dollars today
Can you imagine the lifestyle I would have if I made over 100 grand a year?
Like Ross Perot said in 1992, Trickle down economics didn't trickle folks
I see it played out in every job I ever had
It's not just the low pay, it's the poor treatment at all of these places
Many have just given up and went on drugs or welfare
It's a damn shame what the world's come to
For people like me and people like you

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp - XVI - Young, young tree

THE MUSE: EDELWEISS – Vol. I
*** Part III: Poetic Pillars – Monads: The Harp ***
[ XVI ]
*** Young, young tree ***

“Young,
Young tree,
From
Deep roots,
Through
Stiff trunk,
Till
Thy crown,
Hear my plea –

*** Root ***

Young,
Young tree,
Thus
On spree,
Branch
Bows down,
While
A monk
Reaps old fruits; –

*** Root ***

Young,
Young tree,
Leaves
Bend shoots,
Throws
Seed [ : ‘s : ] sound,
- Wind
Breaks free,
All bless Thee!.. – ”
