There Were Dragons

By Matthew "Dra'Gon" Stohler

Can you tell me where the dragons are?
Who once flew the skies so free?
Over mountain and sea, forest and plain,
Of such have I witnessed in my dreams.

But others came who required more,
Poisoned the clear blue skies,
Plowed through mountain, depleting sea,
Removed forest, built upon plain.

Endanger those which have no voice.
Destroy that which is in the way.
We have thrown away the simple life,
To build for ourselves monuments to us.

But what is next if we lose what's left?
How to make up for that lost time?
And the question which I must ask:
Where have all the dragons gone?

Restless Moment

I envy that one restless moment
The lulling muse of that instant
Vanished in that ephemeral dream
Countless eternities past it seems
A sweet whisper mourned by lavender tears
An embrace warm and willing culls my fear
Chasing that memory
I'll search till it ends me
Give chase my Gemini
Sweet and mutable butterfly
This cold Aquarius must protest
The power of his mind during rest

About this poem:
I dreamed a sweet dream of a Gemini one night. For a brief moment we held each other and I whispered forgotten words to her. The dream ended and now I'm stuck in reality without her.

PLEASE

Please dont have fear
It is love that I bring,
I know you've been hurt
But I'll soothe the sting.

Please have some trust
Just look deep in my eyes,
I'll show you some secrets
All displayed, no disguise.

Please look at true love
As a gift God's supplied
I pass on this gift
With no bonds is it tied.

Please try to believe
My love is complete,
It all came together
I was swept off my feet.

Please yourself what you choose
Its your life, you should live it,
Only look in my eyes
And see love, every minute.

LEATHER

Legacy Of Rodeo

There's a hundred years of history,
And a hundred before that,
All gathered in the thinkin'
Goin' on beneath this hat.

And back behind his eyeballs
And pumpin' through his veins,
Is the ghost of every cowboy
That ever held the reins.

Every coil in his lasso's
Been thrown a million times,
His quite concentrations
Been distilled through ancient minds.

It's evolution workin'
When silver scratches hide,
And a ghostly cowboy chorus
Fills his head and says 'let's ride'.

The cold flame burns within him
'Till his skins as cold as ice,
And the dues he paid to get here
Are worth every sacrifice.

All the miles spent sleep drivin'
All the money down the drain,
All the 'if I's' and 'nearly's'
All the bandages and pain.

All the female tears left dryin'
All the fever and the fight,
Are just a small down payment
On the ride he makes tonight.

It's guts and love and glory,
One mortal's chance at fame,
His legacy is rodeo,
And cowboy is his name.

About this poem:
I didn't actually write this poem, its dedicated to all the Bullriders out there who have come off a bull and survived it. Lane Frost was a true cowboy, who in his day lived up to his name, at just 24 he was instantly killed by a bull name Red Rock which he rode at the Calgary Stampede championship finals.

The Child Renewed

A flame was rekindled one spring afternoon,
Despite the emptiness of deserts in June.
From the moment of his first consecrated breath,
He cried out for sustenance, for love beyond death.
And when they fused in a crucible of form,
An ancient beauty did his soul transform:
Tired personality re-animated by love,
Sent mercifully from the vast skies above.
And then he looked back, across a long stretch of years
Through a veil painted with exhaustion and tears,
And he saw himself, reflected, at rest on a pyre,
And then he became what he always had been:
His child, glorified, with a soul of fire.

The Hidden Flower

In a corner were I may never find,
A flower sways delicately, amongst none of her kind,
Bloomed rare, both elegant and unique,
She leans to fall, to be caught by his hands, for their eyes to meet

Oh temptatious flower grow taller from your mound,
So I may see and uproot you from the ungrateful ground,
For I would mind you and water you in a sensual lust,
I shall search till my last breath, for your love...I must

Looking for my unknown kalyanamitra...

chant me your mantra!
craving your kiss...
make me your tantra!
what a heavenly bliss!
doe and deer
pigeon and dove
a glass of beer?
or a cup of Love?
what do you think?
living in your ivory tower
rose or pink???
guess my favourite flower!!!
now moonbeam...
tomorrow sunshine...
my empty dream?
"be mine"!!!...

About this poem:
a kalyanamitra is a spiritual friend who is able(maybe, maybe not) to be a soulmate, in short a beloved one(any worthy otherself)...
"kalyanamitra" is a sanskrit word... i guess i prefer "gewa chennyen"(kalyanamitra in tibetan) or "hao p'hon you"(kalyanamitra in chinese) or "kokoro no tomodata"(or "shin tomodata", kalyanamitra in japanese)... i really don´t know... words float in the void when i try to understand their deep and genuine meanings... Let there be kalyanamitras!!!! May all Heavenly Beings gather the kalyanamitras here and now!!!!... forever...
